I thought this was serious. I’m often quite cynical but I had an unhappy family when I was brought up. So I am happy going on holiday with my dds and doing normal stuff and “making memories”. No one is shouting and screaming (at the moment at least) and we are having a happy time. So I’m ok hun.

It’s a little known fact that wobbly ears is the fifth sign of stroke. Copy and past to save a life.

Only the people who really care about me will continue to read this ridiculously long post full of absolute bollocks.

Having a lovely time is fine.

But you can't "make memories" for their kids. Of course, if you remind them every day for the rest of their non-adult lives they may remember that particular fantastic day on the beach building sandcastles (I'd remember it for all the wrong reasons, not being a beach person at all, and usually lasting a maximum of 30 minutes on any beach). But more realistically, it will be one of many lovely days, and they may or may not remember that particular one. There's no such thing as "making memories".

As for #feelingblessed, replace blessed with smug.

If you have a cognitive functioning brain you’ll make memories, good and bad. Parents can’t manufacture memories for their kids. Guaranteed the time when you’ve gone out of your way to take them to the beach and have the #bestdayever, the bit they’ll remember is the ice cream and the one time you told them to stop arguing in the back otherwise you’ll turn the car around and go home!
