isn't the only product made by Upfield.
You might want to be aware of some others:

Upfield's notable brands include Flora, Stork, I Can't Believe It's Not Butter, Rama, Country Crock, Becel, and Blue Band.

This is made me so happy to read. I have been on Mumsnet for about a decade and have been very seriously considering leaving due to the anti-trans vibe and disgusting posts.

I have complained to MNHQ to no avail.

Don't like Flora but it's going on my shopping list as a matter of principle.

Ereshkigal · 14/10/2019 13:31

And no, I mean the actual GRA.

Oh no.... not the actual GRA!!! People don't agree with a bad law and think it should be repealed! How awful!

Yes, lots of people don't agree with the GRA. Not all of them are gender critical feminists. Or on Mumsnet. I think you'll find it was sneaked into law when most people were unaware of what was actually being proposed and what the ramifications would be.

Your hushed tones are utterly ridiculous. No one is hiding that they don't personally agree with the GRA.

zebrasdontwearbras · 14/10/2019 13:34

Thanks OP. Thankfully I'm pro women's rights so I'll add them all to the boycott list!

Me too!

Happily MN have in response affirmed their commitment to free speech for everyone and allowing respectful debate and disagreement on this issue and others. Good for MN.

feelingverylazytoday · 14/10/2019 13:35

Seriously? What on earth are you going to cook with all that greasy processed chemical shite?
This is one boycott that is really easy to stick to. Haven't touched any of that kind of crap since the '90s when I reverted to the natural food, butter. Bye bye Flora Grin

Xenia · 14/10/2019 13:40

I think the current GRA that is in force is a wise and caring compromise and about the best we can get. I don't support changes to it.

Ereshkigal · 14/10/2019 13:42

I disagree, but I can do that without throwing a tantrum and claiming to have been erased.

Xenia · 14/10/2019 13:46

As you know I have not thrown a tantrum nor claimed to be erased.

It is perfectly possible to discuss these issues on MN. Companes can advertise or not as they choose. Women's voices are very strong and they make most of the decisions in many families about which products to buy so as usual market forces usually prevail. Thankfully we still mostly live in a free country where opposing views are fine.

Beansandcoffee · 14/10/2019 13:48

I agree Xenia.

Ereshkigal · 14/10/2019 13:52

As you know I have not thrown a tantrum nor claimed to be erased.

Yes, i know. I was referring to the people on Twitter (and a few here) who would like to see MN completely censor any debate on trans issues.

SpinneyHill · 14/10/2019 13:55

If Mumsnet is so Anti Trans why are so many claiming to be Pro Trans rights on Mumsnet? Surely your very presence here is supporting anti Trans ideals...Unless the anti Trans narrative is being exaggerated, but who would do that just to vilify Women?
It's as if Mumsnet is neither Anti or Pro Trans Rights but just a large number of people with different opinions. Weird

Dangerfloof · 14/10/2019 14:25

Apart from the many many FWR posters who call for repeal of the GRA, who refuse to use preferred pronouns and consider it an affront to be asked to do so, who think it should be made harder for trans people to have documents changed, or who think trans people should not have children
I see no need for me to use preferred pronouns. Dgaf what people call me wether I'm there or not.
I think that self I'd when it comes is not enough of a deterrent to some people to pretend for reasons to be a different sex, but the current system is ok ish have no cares for if anyone has children at all.

If you think fwr is a flaming hotbed of savage posts then dont ever visit the farms where I promise you a lot worse is posted. And I think they mean it too.

feelingverylazytoday · 14/10/2019 15:57

Don't like Flora but it's going on my shopping list as a matter of principle
I did actually laugh out loud when I read this post. Such logic ...

WotchaTalkinBoutWillis · 14/10/2019 15:59

Well it's as logical as all the "I'm boycotting Flora but I never buy it anyway" posts lol

feelingverylazytoday · 14/10/2019 16:37

Not really *Wotcha' . Not buying it won't waste any money, will it?

Whatthingsexactly · 14/10/2019 20:40

Ereshkigal, if you’re going to be snitty and indignant at least read the context of the post.

My mention of posters calling for repeal of the GRA was in response to PP saying no one wants to remove rights from trans people. Then another assuming that the proposed reforms were what was meant, rather than the actual GRA, hence the clarification.

Ereshkigal · 14/10/2019 21:11

I just found your post ridiculous pearl clutching. In whatever context.

Ereshkigal · 14/10/2019 21:12

I don't believe that law should have ever been passed. I think it was a huge mistake.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 14/10/2019 21:15

For those saying ‘I’m deffo buying these! I’m pro trans!’ Why are you on Mumsnet and are you pro women?

WotchaTalkinBoutWillis · 14/10/2019 21:25

For those saying ‘I’m deffo buying these! I’m pro trans!’ Why are you on Mumsnet

Eh? You know there's likely to be people who are trans on here, right? Or women who will be pro trans too?
Do we all have to think the same now to be allowed on here?

and are you pro women?
Yes.

Dowser · 14/10/2019 21:52

Why did I think margarine was a by product of the petroleum industry
What on Earth am I mixing it up with
I thought it originated in Germany as well

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 14/10/2019 21:55

@WotchaTalkinBoutWillis - the question was more as in ‘there are calls to boycott the site as it is a supposed cesspit of transphobia - do you also follow this line of thinking?’

Dowser · 14/10/2019 21:56

I love Mumsnet me ❤️❤️❤️
