No more Flora for me, they’ve just announced they’re having nothing to do with the hate site mumsnet. mobile.twitter.com/StopFundingHate/status/1182647264046669824

Yes - there’s a screenshot from when they pulled the chat!

Making spurious accusations of bullying when someone says something you don't like on a trans thread. I recognise the posting style and that's why I believe you about being a long time MNer.

Lifeof333s · 14/10/2019 20:21

Think I’ve posted on one other trans thread and if I think something is of a bullying nature I am entitled to say whether you like it or not.

Doves Farm, Jordan’s, Kellogs all on the red list.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 14/10/2019 20:22

Who, what now? What have they done? I don’t use Dove but doves farm?

SesameOil · 14/10/2019 20:23

Nobody said or even implied that you weren't, though. Pointing out that something is bollocks isn't the same as saying you aren't allowed to say the bollocks. Strawman.

Yes, that NSPCC thing was an absolute car crash.

Lifeof333s · 14/10/2019 20:23

If you look at that ethical food list they score badly re environment and palm oil as do many other household brands.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 14/10/2019 20:24

Where that (sorry I can’t see it)?

Juells · 14/10/2019 20:29

Last winter I thought I'd get a few packet soups for the store cupboard, and every bloody one of them had palm oil in them. Have a look next time you're in the supermarket. Knorr Gravy powder. Things you'd never imagine. JusRol pastry.

ethelredonagoodday · 14/10/2019 20:30

@Notthebloodymustardcushion sums up how I feel about this issue.
I've not bought flora in an absolute age, as it's disgusting, so can't boycott.

Lifeof333s · 14/10/2019 20:32

Click on the cereal guide and scroll down to the products in red, there is an explanation below.. Actually might have been Dorset but you get my drift, there are hoards of household products. I think you’d have empty cupboards if you got rid of everything damaging as regards the environment and palm oil.

kesstrel · 14/10/2019 20:34

Nearly every brand of biscuit has palm oil as well now. They're all ruined. I stick with shortbread (and even then you have to check that it's really made with butter).

Ereshkigal · 14/10/2019 20:34

Then they were made aware of the politics and decided their values of being inclusive

GrinGrin you are funny.

Rocktheboot · 14/10/2019 20:39

@juells it's in sooooooo much stuff
if you bake though it's easier to avoid

Aridane · 14/10/2019 20:46

Is there such a thing as sustainable Or ethical palm oil?

Ereshkigal · 14/10/2019 20:47

Has the suggestion I just saw that this company have a base in Uganda (where homosexuality is punishable by death) made it into this thread?

Let's hope that turns out not to be true. Because cynical virtue signalling is just so...cynical.

Isn't it.

Ereshkigal · 14/10/2019 20:49

Errrrrm..... lots on the thread have said it's exactly like that, though.

Errrrm I think actually most of those posts are from the same two or three prolific posters.

Ereshkigal · 14/10/2019 20:50

Is there such a thing as sustainable Or ethical palm oil?

No. In fact there is evidence that it allows even more exploitation and deforestation to happen.

Lifeof333s · 14/10/2019 20:51

Prolific, hardly.

WotchaTalkinBoutWillis · 14/10/2019 20:53

Errrrm I think actually most of those posts are from the same two or three prolific posters

There's been several different posters, don't let that inconvenient fact get in the way of a chance for you to do the usual denial though.

Ereshkigal · 14/10/2019 20:55

Yes, two or three posters does indeed count as "several"... Hmm

WotchaTalkinBoutWillis · 14/10/2019 20:57

Prolific, hardly

Exactly, I mean dafuq Grin
If we're flinging the word prolific around if anyone's dared to post more than once with a different opinion, there's some prolific FWR posters pretending to be nicey nice out on AIBU to get new bait to "bite" but true colours are starting to trickle through with latest posts!

Ereshkigal · 14/10/2019 20:57

Oh and now we're randomly denying the meaning of commonly understood words. Still, why change the habit of a lifetime?

Ereshkigal · 14/10/2019 20:58

anyone's dared to post more than once with a different opinion

Shall we count up how many posts you've made on this thread, exactly?

WotchaTalkinBoutWillis · 14/10/2019 21:02

@posterLifeof333s
Pulling what?

I'm hazarding a guess at where you're calling out shittiness towards you- it's not liked.
Don't you know? You're to just lie down shurrup and take it lol Grin

Whatthingsexactly · 14/10/2019 21:03

Round we go again, with posters troll hunted, insinuations of collusion, parachuting in, TRA troops, misogynists, etc etc.

Perfect demonstration. Thanks dudes!
