To not want to give more

So a friend is getting married very soon. They have asked for money for their honeymoon - which obviously doesn't bother me if that's what they want!
I just don't know what to give. We have only met this year but have become very close and see each other a couple of times a week. I'm going to the full wedding day and I went on the hen do. But I don't know what to give!
Help!

£20-50 in a lovely card.

Oh I don't know, the majority of posters on this thread are reasonable and say £50 max.

The op must give what she can afford to give, her friend will be pleased whatever the sum is. I feel sorry that she is worried by it but there really is no strict protocol. It all depends on how close you are to the person getting married and your own financial situation.

Some of you are crazy, you are basically attending an event. £20 is more than sufficient. Surely you are inviting people for their company and not their money.
