And about time, too. They never stop castigating her.

Prince Harry has said that he's worried that she'll end up being the same kind of victim that his mother was with regard to the Press.

I hope she wins her case.

There are many criteria at play when these league tables are “organised”. Academic rigour is not always high on the agenda.

People should not be so naive.

LaurieMarlow · 03/10/2019 15:08

Charles got a Third from Cambridge. I don't think anyone would argue that he got there on merit.

At least in the modern era, state exams are marked anonymously.

angell84 · 03/10/2019 15:09

I can't believe that we are talking about who is "better", because of what University they went to.

Is this a real conversation?

LaurieMarlow · 03/10/2019 15:09

People should not be so naive.

Died laughing at this. Have you ever actually looked at the criteria?

No real need to answer that Grin

NoTheresa · 03/10/2019 15:09

I know which one has a TRADITION of learning. In 1410, I imagine the delightfully named Northwestern was an area of swampland or rough forest!

BertrandRussell · 03/10/2019 15:10

Good lord, did Meghan go to NortWestern?

LaurieMarlow · 03/10/2019 15:10

Oh I've no idea how we got here or what the relevance is.

Just pointing out that Meghan is a graduate of a very highly ranked university, for the bashers who were denying this.

TatianaLarina · 03/10/2019 15:10

As were Harvard, Yale and Stanford.. and?

TheMustressMhor · 03/10/2019 15:12

The bashers were actually suggesting that Northwestern was an inferior university.

For various, spurious reasons.

I love this tedious Brit strategy of playing the 'oh but we're older' card when the US are better than them.

No one with any sense gives a fuck whether a university existed in 1410 or not.

justasking111 · 03/10/2019 15:13

America has some fine universities. The British imperialistic view of the world British is best is baffling today.

GlitchStitch · 03/10/2019 15:13

Christ I'm no fan of Meghan (or Harry) but pretending she's some dimwit who wouldn't be able to get into a university ranked far below the very prestigious one she actually graduated from is ridiculous. Have you seen how many high achieving people Northwestern churns out? Or is the Nobel prize just a little tinpot award since it was only established in (horrors) 1901.

NoTheresa · 03/10/2019 15:15

Oh really?!

TheMustressMhor · 03/10/2019 15:16

Absolutely a tinpot award @GlitchStitch.

Who would want such a YOUNG prize anyway?

BertrandRussell · 03/10/2019 15:17

Prince Charles went to Cambridge at a time when who you know could go a long way. Not sure about William and St Andrews (my own alma mater, in case anyone's interested) but Kate would certainly have had to get the grades. And so would Meghan.

TatianaLarina · 03/10/2019 15:17

With any sense she said Theresa

NoTheresa · 03/10/2019 15:17

@LaurieMarlow

So which university did you attend?

Funghi · 03/10/2019 15:17

in case anyone's interested

Nope

NoTheresa · 03/10/2019 15:18

TatianaLarina

With any sense she said Theresa

That made me laugh!

TheMustressMhor · 03/10/2019 15:18

Yes, really, NoTheresa - nobody with any sense would care when a university was established.

I feel you're clutching at straws in your attempts to discredit the Duchess of Sussex.

OP posts:
Provincialbelle · 03/10/2019 15:19

Limited sympathy here. The Sussexes love publicity when it suits them

LaurieMarlow · 03/10/2019 15:19

So which university did you attend?

Trinity College Dublin.

You?

queenofarles · 03/10/2019 15:19

She is very Smart and hardworking no doubt of that. But this isn’t a very smart move on their Behalf, you can’t make your family go away nor can you make the public like you.
What strikes me as utter stupidity is , just as this whole letter thing was completely forgotten it’s back and circulating in a much wider range.
They were doing so well . Successful Africa tour, nice meaningful humanitarian work , cute pictures of baby and everyone was fawning and besotted with them, they’ve went on and undone it all,

Surprised to read that Harry wanted the statement to be released at the end of the tour for maximum impact, so was the tour a big show? Prelude to this colossus disaster ?

NoTheresa · 03/10/2019 15:20

A bit of a stealth boast, there,@BertrandRussell.🤣

BertrandRussell · 03/10/2019 15:20

The LSE was founded in 1895........I suppose that 6 years makes all the difference.....
