We love them in our house. We always have one on the go at Christmas but we should really do them more often rather than saving them for a Christmas treat.

YetAgainNameChanged · 28/09/2019 00:00

I love jigsaws, particularly the wasjig ones.
A jigsaw zippy up case has been a game changer here. It lives down the back of the sofa and comes out randomly for me to complete the next 30 or so pieces. It has even been to visit relations houses when I've just got into a particularly 'good bit' and can't bear to be parted from it.

MissLadyM · 28/09/2019 00:02

Love them! My friends take the piss but always end up engrossed themselves!

ineedaholidaynow · 28/09/2019 00:05

We always get a family puzzle at Christmas. DS(14) and I will usually do one over the school summer holidays too, it is our ‘bonding’ time and gets him away from the PS4

ineedaholidaynow · 28/09/2019 00:07

We have one of those puzzle mats which lives under the sofa. We usually do the puzzle on the lounge floor and DDog likes to sit in the middle of it and pretend he is helping!

Mac47 · 28/09/2019 00:11

Love them! Also have a giant zip case which has been brilliant- sooo irritating pre case when I would be mid way through a 1000 piece one and then needed to use the dining table. I am quite picky about the puzzle though, I have to love the picture if I'm spending hours looking at it.

mawbroon · 28/09/2019 00:12

Love them, but I get sucked in for hours on end.

If only I could apply the skill, patience and determination that I have with a jigsaw to something a bit more useful 🤣

Sweetpea55 · 28/09/2019 00:22

Love them too. Especially ally the old fashioned Christmas ones. I have mine on a special jigsaw table in the conservatory

JassyRadlett · 28/09/2019 00:26

I might have to get one of those zippy cases!

Last night I finished a quite murderous London street map one. Loved it.

Quick question, what do you all do with your jigsaws when you’ve finished them? Do you frame them or charity shop them or what?

Break them up and do them again another time, mostly!

100PercentThatBitch · 28/09/2019 00:28

Yes, I do about one a week Smile

mawbroon · 28/09/2019 00:28

Sweetpea55 I have jigsaw table envy 😮

alwayscoffee · 28/09/2019 00:28

I love jigsaws. I have a large drawing board I do them on so I can easily move it off the dining table when needed. Radio 4 and a jigsaw are the only ways to get through the dark nights

100PercentThatBitch · 28/09/2019 00:30

My favourites are colourful cartoony ones as opposed to photograph types or buildings

SerenDippitty · 28/09/2019 00:30

Love them, especially art ones.

NextTrainGoesToBEROWRA · 28/09/2019 00:33

Yes! I’ve been doing ones of maps. Very relaxing, and sometimes infuriating (especially the sea, or Russia).

Love Lego too.

SunshineAngel · 28/09/2019 00:41

I absolutely LOVE them. I got a new one for my birthday, 1,000 pieces, and was about half way through.. then DSS clumsily knocked the board off the table (suspect on purpose, as I don't see how it's possible otherwise) so now it's all ruined, and I'm too annoyed to start again right now :(.

fatfluffycushion · 28/09/2019 00:44

Just started on one tonight first for the winter it's an old fashioned railway scene , we both love doing them through the dark winter evenings , we put them on a drawing board then under the sofa out the way when we need the table ,
When we have finished I either give them to friends or the local charity shop , sometimes I put them at the edge of my gate way with a sign "free please take" - they always go quickly.

Ooh yes. DH and I horrified his mum last year when we were staying at theirs by staying up till the wee smalls to complete a jigsaw of a plane schematic with loads of white space. I think she'd have been a lot happier if we'd rolled in from the pub at that time!

MissLadyM · 28/09/2019 01:07

Can anyone recommend a good roll up mat? I really don't have much room and really want to get into them again!

WotchaTalkinBoutWillis · 28/09/2019 01:12

I used to love jigsaws. Still do, but don't seem to have the headspace now to sit down and actually do one!!

gillys · 28/09/2019 01:14

Yes I love them but only really do them in winter. Once I start one i can't leave it alone. My dad loves them too & always asks me to help him with the tricky bits & I find it hard not to get carried away & do loads.

MovinOnUp · 28/09/2019 01:19

I'm planning on buying a Christmas scene jigsaw that we will do as a family in the run up to Christmas.

SilverySurfer · 28/09/2019 03:04

I enjoy doing jigsaws. Quite like some of the Ravensburger puzzles and noticed on Amazon recently that they are selling a 42,000 piece puzzle! Not sure I have the space.

nonevernotever · 28/09/2019 03:12

I love them too, though I prefer them to be a wintry picture. I like the 250 piece wooden ones from Wentworth that I can do over a couple of days. Once they're done I just break them up and put them back in the box for next time.
