Must I do personal care for DH?

About once a month my DH will tell me he's got cracked heels and will I stick a plaster on it for him because it's really sore and he can't walk. He also asks me to cut his toenails. It bugs me having to do this - I can't see why he can't do it himself but he says he can't because he's got a pacemaker and it digs in when he bends over. Well, that's bollocks because he's always asked me to do it even before he had the pacemaker fitted! He gets a bit nasty when I object to doing it. Should do it willingly and with a glad heart or WIBU to tell him to sort his own feet out?

Eurgh god, I’d hate to go anywhere near DH’s feet- they stink!

I don't mind doing feet but he's being unreasonable by demanding & getting nasty. I'd suggest he gets a medical pedicure.

I guess the nail clipping is a red herring.

nunnun if there's something more serious going on within your relationship it'll be more worthwhile to start a different thread on relationships board.

I'd tell him to look up a podiatrist or chiropodist AND go to get his pacemaker checked if it's digging in (no idea if that's even possible, maybe it is but it seems unlikely to me).
While I agree with PP that it's a caring thing to do for someone, I wouldn't do it for someone who had your husband's attitude - which is really the whole crux of the issue here.
My dad also has a pacemaker and I know he can do his own toenails without it causing him an issue.

I offer to cut my oh’s toenails but only because the deal is that he scratches my back while I do it. I don’t think I’d be as jo for it if he had dry/cracked feet (like mine)
