Not expecting this thread to last, btw.

YANBU but I expect this thread to disappear sadly....

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 16/09/2019 00:06

X-post PickAChew!

I get the impression he feels like he's failed at being a gay man - or rather the stereotypical idea of a gay man. So now he's incorporating the stereotypical idea of a woman - high heels. stockings, dresses, podgy areas, to form his own special version of a gay man .

All the time he's a biological male (which is forever) has a beard and a penis I'm afraid it's a him or he from me. I won't be compelled to use other people's words.

NoTheresa · 16/09/2019 00:13

Yes. Very annoying and me me me.

zen1 · 16/09/2019 00:13

I think they is doing it for attention.

PennyNotSoWise · 16/09/2019 00:16

This is all getting so confusing, it'll be hard to refer to anyone soon without someone, somewhere being offended by it.

NoTheresa · 16/09/2019 00:16

Sorry. I meant, of course, us us us. Lol

MartiniDry · 16/09/2019 00:16

Sam Smith can ask for what ever he likes but that doesn't mean that he's going to get it.

Sensible people will be pointing at him and laughing like drains.

PennyNotSoWise · 16/09/2019 00:18

I think they is doing it for attention

Seeing it written like that just looks like the author is right fick. Grin (not saying you are zen1) It looks and sounds ridiculous.

hopefulandstrong · 16/09/2019 00:20

Is it just me or do other people worry when they call the child a good boy?
When I'm in the park, I say ' what a good boy and then I think am I allowed?

Of course I can do as I please but this sort of thing is making life worse.
Car boot sale the other day I labelled boys clothes On a box, and spoke to my dp that it maybe wrong in a few years.

sleeveofstickers · 16/09/2019 00:22

Yabu. Yes, the majority will identify as male or female but some people don't some really rude, nasty comments on here.

MrsTerryPratchett · 16/09/2019 00:22

They have said they think like a woman

If they thought like this woman they would think they were an attention seeking saddo.

But I'm trying to think of universal female thoughts...Why does no one replace the bloody toilet paper?

That's all I can come up with. And that's really just the women I know. There's plenty of cultures that don't use toilet paper. And they have women too.

snowbear66 · 16/09/2019 00:33

TH ABU.

zen1 · 16/09/2019 00:43

PennyNotSoWise That's why I wrote it like that; the concept is ridiculous Grin

RubyViolet · 16/09/2019 00:46

My Godchild changed their pronouns to she/ her 3 years ago. They then changed their pronouns again this Summer to they/their.
I can’t keep up !

MorganKitten · 16/09/2019 00:47

YABU, it really doesn’t matter what we think as it’s up to them

OkPedro · 16/09/2019 00:52

sleeveofstickers Come on now? You honestly can’t see how ridiculous the they/them thing is? We are male or female..
Wear what you want and call yourself what you want.. I won’t ever refer to another human as they or them

fiveleftfeet · 16/09/2019 00:56

I'm in a Facebook group that includes a bunch of mothers who use they/them for their their children from birth, as they don't want to "assign" a gender to them, but are instead waiting for the child to tell them what gender they are.

Totally off their rockers if you ask me. This is gaslighting their kids.

They're deady serious, though.

alexdgr8 · 16/09/2019 01:00

some of these comments remind me of how some people used to laugh, mock , deride, stigmatise, various conditions in the dim ignorant past, eg epilepsy, leaning difficulties, being gay/bisexual, stammering, tics, tremors, other races/ religions.
ways of being that are different may be difficult to understand, but why not just keep an open, or even puzzled view, rather than mocking in a falsely superior way.
this is akin to bullying. it strikes me as ignorant and unpleasant.
surely people have advanced from these kind of attitudes.
what happened to mutual respect, and compassion.
it's easy to mock; let's try to do better, please. let's try to be humane.

ChocChocButtons · 16/09/2019 01:03

@theunknownknown oh do piss off! I wrote gender i meant gender go correct someone else’s posts.

Loveyou3000 · 16/09/2019 01:15

Endless streams of threads about gender or sex or whatever it is, generating the same comments every time is equally ridiculous yet here we are
