@GirIAfraid

Brilliant post!

If we are going to finger point at generations then think it’s the 20 somethings and late teens that are fucking all this up. Social media and lack of critical thinking has done this!

Society may have been sexist before (and we knew what we were up against) but this is something far more sinister. It feels like an attack on women - like some alien film, or body snatchers.

However - the younger generation I think will step up and see it for what it is. Sadly there are small children now who are being pushed along a dangerous road by right on ‘special’ parents.

We will look back and say ‘how the bloody hell did that happen?’ I am thinking here about the current hooha about a male in a woman’s shelter (in Canada) posting selfies of his erection in the
Shelter and hosting about attacking another resident. And the shelter are actually backing them up!

Owen Jones saying lesbians should have sex with ladydicks or they're transphobic (while refusing so say whether, as a gay man, he'd have sex with a biological woman who identified as male. My guess is he wouldn't)

He was asked this and replied that it was homophobic to expect him to have sex with a transman with a vagina.

GirIAfraid · 19/09/2019 09:06

@OldCrone I did not know this. Completely unsurprised, and utterly depressing.

OldCrone · 19/09/2019 09:11

They're not doing this on their own though. If they were it would just be another youth movement that older people could roll their eyes at. They're being facilitated by middle aged crossdressing men and the establishment - the BBC, the NHS, MPs, schools...

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 19/09/2019 09:12

It generations always have older and wiser heads to listen to. This lot just went like magpies to the shiny sparkles and no substance.

SirVixofVixHall · 19/09/2019 10:01

Dear little Owen, so predictable.
I must say the most eye opening thing on this thread is the apparent lowering of standards in the teaching profession.
Scene -A parents’ evening, somewhere on the fringes of London.
Mother “ So has Sally been behaving in class this term? “
Teacher “ Hahaha lols you is so funny, you old ladies”.

It says it all that OJ has so little respect for women that he won't even think about what they're saying for even a little while preferring to just straight up dismiss them.

Mummyoflittledragon · 19/09/2019 13:01

@OldCrone
Did OJ justify why is it homophobic to expect him to have sex with a transman with a vagina but not for a lesbian to have sex with a with a transwoman with a penis?

SirVixofVixHall · 19/09/2019 13:08

Owen doesn’t need to justify anything, because he is
A. A man. And
B. ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF HISTORY .

I don’t know quite what Owen means by that but he keeps shouting it, so it must be something meaningful.

GirIAfraid · 19/09/2019 13:28

I'm a lifelong Labour voter. I've been called all sorts of yogurt knitting lefty in my time. And sadly, OJ seems to be perceived as some kind of all knowing godlike hero by much of the 'left'. Saying you don't like him is like blasphemy. Call him a misogynist (which he undoubtedly is) and people look at you like Shock

SirVixofVixHall · 19/09/2019 14:00

True. I got just that response from a couple of friends recently, open mouthed shock. As lifelong Labour voters they see everything through the lens of “ this is a Labour supporter, therefore automatically the good guy” .

VladmirsPoutine · 19/09/2019 14:20

Just to highlight @birdsdestiny's point. The sheer arrogance of this:

To think Sam Smith is being ridiculous?
LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 19/09/2019 14:22

He is so wise. A modern day Oracle or Wise Man.

SirVixofVixHall · 19/09/2019 14:36

Sigh. I wander if anyone will send him Barracker’s “Pronouns are Rohypnol “
I am sure this comes from a desire to be kind, he seems a decent man, but it isn’t kind to women, (or, I would say, to the people concerned) to deny reality. Nor is it kind to conflate personality and taste with a specific sex.
As Janice said to Owen WE ARE ALL NON BINARY.

To think Sam Smith is being ridiculous?
SomewhereInbetween1 · 19/09/2019 14:44

YABU. Sam Smith's choice of pronoun doesn't impact you, does it? So why get your pants in a twist?

NoTheresa · 19/09/2019 14:52

You cannot just play fast and loose with pronouns. It makes your attempts to communicate nonsensical.
Doesn’t he know that?

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 19/09/2019 15:06

Wtf radio 4? Just heard Ramblings - group oh kids, each announcing ‘my name is x and my pronouns are...’ eh what?

jellyfrizz · 19/09/2019 15:23

Sam Smith's choice of pronoun doesn't impact you, does it? So why get your pants in a twist?

Perhaps RTFT where people explain in detail why it DOES impact them.

GirIAfraid · 19/09/2019 15:25

YABU. Sam Smith's choice of pronoun doesn't impact you, does it? So why get your pants in a twist?

Of course it does. This stuff impacts all women. How can you possibly think otherwise?

VladmirsPoutine · 19/09/2019 15:29

@LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD Ahh... I see the indoctrination is well and truly in action! Heaven help us!!

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 19/09/2019 15:31

I’ve asked ds what his pronouns are. Quizzical look ‘mum - don’t you speak English?’

VladmirsPoutine · 19/09/2019 15:48

You're doing something right LordProfFekko but I do fear for him as imagine he suddenly acquires a classmate who has gone from being a boy called John to a girl who now wants to be called Jane. Once your DS slips up once or twice and refers to John as 'John' or 'he/him' then your boy's gonna end up hauled to the headteacher for discrimination/bullying etc etc. Will totally baffle your son, alienate him entirely all whilst making the gas-lighting look entirely normal. This is where we are headed.

If it was a work situation this might even mean a disciplinary if you forget to call David from accounts Daisy....

Definitelynothavingchildren · 19/09/2019 15:58

So glad someone asked this. I think he is ridiculous and acts as if he is the first gay man to come out in the music industry. Yawn. Get over yourself. Really like his newest song though.

Gorse · 19/09/2019 16:03

I can't imagine this nonsense taking root in the provinces, please someone tell me I'm rightShock?
As for young Owen - aka Peter Pan - Jones, he's a prize idiot, and probably the biggest hypocrite walking about under the protective skin of the bubble today. I'll give him an admiring glance, though, for the speed and agility shown "bandwagon jumping". World class.
