So if you're in Scotland you will know what a munchy box is. Basically it's a pizza box from the chippy, Indian or Chinese filled with a variety of stuff. DH is out tonight, im throwing a mild strop about food we have in the house and so I was browsing the local Just Eat to see what I might order. One oif the local chippy/Indians do a 'Single Mum Munchy Box'
Why do they think this is specifically for single mums? The chocolate?
It's a bit bat shit right?

Have added a screen shot !

They have these in England too, they could have named it better but it doesn't bother me that much.

DrFoxtrot · 14/09/2019 17:26

Also that is a lot of food for single anyone Confused

Meh.

Simkin · 14/09/2019 17:27

It is weird and without wanting to be over dramatic I wouldn't want to advertise to a delivery person that I was a woman alone at home either!

I do quite want one now though.

SlackerMum1 · 14/09/2019 17:27

More to the point - why do they think it can be consumed by one person whatever their marital or child status?

HauntedPinecone · 14/09/2019 17:27

I don't like that at all. Is there a single dad munchy box?

SpunBodgeSquarepants · 14/09/2019 17:28

That's so cheap...?!

GatoFofo · 14/09/2019 17:28

Yes, it’s batshit. But looking at the contents, a little bit genius!
I need to move to Scotland immediately for the munchy boxes..

Shockers · 14/09/2019 17:28

That’s weird- both the name, and the contents.

QforCucumber · 14/09/2019 17:29

God DH and I would eat that and have leftovers - kind of wish i was nearby to have it. Our local meal deals are crap.

walkintheparc · 14/09/2019 17:29

What's more bat shit is the combination of food in it?!

HauntedPinecone · 14/09/2019 17:29

Ugh, is this thread going to descend into competitive orthorexia "who could possibly eat all that" bollocks. It gets so tiresome.

MyDcAreMarvel · 14/09/2019 17:30

They are not a Scottish thing, we have them in England also.

PumpkinP · 14/09/2019 17:30

I’ve never heard of them but yeh that’s weird.

HeadintheiClouds · 14/09/2019 17:31

That’s a truckload of food Confused. What’s in the normal one’s?

flashingbeacon · 14/09/2019 17:31

Weird for sure. Could you be more specific about where this is, so I can avoid it obviously

sparklefarts · 14/09/2019 17:32

Ah I've just never seen them in the part of England I'm from.

I've only ever had one once and it was vile. Everything just tasted the same.
But, if it's a tasty one I think it would be genius 👍

I think its supposed to be enough to feed the single mum AND her kid.

sparklefarts · 14/09/2019 17:33

Villanelle - I'm not so sure, they're all stuffed to the brim

One person couldn't possibly manage that munchy box. I only eat the bin salad when we have takeaway. Sometimes I sniff the paper the naan came in, disgusting beast that I am.

maggiecate · 14/09/2019 17:34

Maybe instead of it being a Munch box for single mums it’s a single munch box for mums, like you get a single fish instead of a fish supper?

PumpkinP · 14/09/2019 17:34

I’m in London and never seen or heard of them so probably depends where you live. The name is very random

yabbydabbydoo · 14/09/2019 17:35

That looks sssooo good.
I’m starving!

Greyhound22 · 14/09/2019 17:35

Now I want to know what is in the cheesy munchy box below.
