New family just moved in to a rented house technically down the side of our house. They have 4 cars, one parking space. The street has space for 5 cars in total, so they deem this a suitable place to park - right across our drive.

Having asked them to move it, I got told they have nowhere to park and he doesn’t want his daughter walking too far to get to her car. Aibu to think we shouldn’t be inconvenienced because these people didn’t think ahead when deciding to rent this house, and what the hell can you do in these circumstances?

Get your DH along to the local scrappy and tow back an old scabby caravan for a few quid and park it on that corner( with room for you to get out) see how they like that 🤣

84claire84 · 23/10/2019 15:44

How about some little nails dropped on the road, accidentally obviously, just where her front tyres would be. Now that would be a crying shame. Nobody has a constant supply of spare cash to be changing tyres I'm sure 😉😉

Burtiebojangles · 23/10/2019 15:58

@Samcro I emailed him a couple of weeks ago, he said he’d look into it and get back to me. He’s shadow cabinet though so it might be a bit of a wait 😩.

@Glenthebattleostrich only in certain areas and ours isn’t one of them. The load of the boys sound good though. I’ll throw in my nieces and teething bub for good measure 😂.

@BeesKnees4 tempting! Haha.

@84claire84 my husband has mentioned glass and eggs too 😉. It’s a shame we didn’t just start down that route.

I've just read through this whole thread with amazement. The sheer, utter, brass balls on these CFs.

I also love your attitude to this. Keep going. Stay sane. Britain is behind you, in your secret car parking war with these utter bandits.

zenasfuck · 23/10/2019 16:52

If there is a way of doing it without being seen I would continually slash their tyres. Every single time the replace them

I had this issue a few years ago, almost identical situation. I bought a massive shogun and just pushed their car out of the way. They soon stopped when their bumper was all smashed up and they had no proof it was me

Burtiebojangles · 23/10/2019 17:39

They broke me. The kids just come back swearing at me, ganging the neighbours up standing in front of our house calling me crazy. Had to phone the police again and ended up sobbing like a bitch.

They’re stood waiting for my husband to get back now. If this is the behaviour of a police family I have no hope.

Any sort of millionaire want to buy my house for shits and giggles? 😩

OkayGoooouuuuuullllll · 23/10/2019 17:57

Well you can definitely call the police on them now for literally harassing you. Video them too.

Burtiebojangles · 23/10/2019 17:57

Yep, just squared up to my husband on the drove going absolutely psycho. I don’t know how he stayed so calm.

Police matter now

ThatsMyAddress · 23/10/2019 18:45

Try and film it on your phone if anything ever starts again OP, then he can’t deny it

So sorry you’re going through this, ring the police asap Flowers

beckyvardy · 23/10/2019 18:51

There is another thread going where the op lives next door to twat neighbours.
People have suggested a ring doorbell where you can record if you have an sd card

Don't think that's a bad idea for you as if it's escalating.

Burtiebojangles · 23/10/2019 19:28

God I think I’ve just has a massive release of tears that have been building up for months.

It’s been logged as assault and they’ve taken issue with the CID threat. They’ve linked the complaints so there’s a log of everything now. My husband said that when their child was having a go, he said that he doesn’t appreciate his wife being intimidated and the kid said well what about when you knocked on our door. So basically this campaign of harassment is because my husband knocked on the door at half 11 to ask them to move their car after mr CID said to me ‘knock on if you need me to move it’. I think they’re officially fucking batshit. Why are they even getting their kids to fight their battles?

Oh my god op! Please make sure the police are aware this is more than a dispute about parking. You are being threatened on your own doorstep! What have the police said/done?
They had better have been out to your house to deal with this!!! Ridiculous!

Nofunkingworriesmate · 23/10/2019 19:35

Please don’t bother the police they haven’t got the resources for this. In our area it’s a council issue and they will come out and give him a a ticket

ncfortuesday · 23/10/2019 19:41

Just RTFT op, I hope you are ok.

This is insane. Where are you up to with the police now then?

WhatWouldChristineCagneyDo · 23/10/2019 19:48

@Nofunkingworriesmate How about you RTFT ? This has gone a bit beyond that now.

WelshMoth · 23/10/2019 19:59

Did you manage to video any of that OP? Sounds hideous.

Burtiebojangles · 23/10/2019 20:00

We’re still waiting, they said it’s be passed on to the local force and they’d ring back but they said that last night and came out within an hour. They seem a lot busier tonight though, took ages to get through.

I said when I was blubbering my way through what happened that the police have focused on the parking and ignored the harassment and that I don’t care about where they park any more I just don’t want to be scared in my own home when I’m alone with my son.

Husband is going to ring the letting agents tomorrow and tell them he wants a phone call from the landlord within 24 hours. Hopefully we can make them aware of what’s going on.

It’s funny how they’re trying so hard to get the neighbours onside, we’ve lived here nearly two years and only spoken to the people directly next door... what you going to get from that?

@Nofunkingworriesmate thanks hun xxx

Burtiebojangles · 23/10/2019 20:03

@WelshMoth no, my husband said that. I saw him come back so I just went to check they were heading over to him but by the time I got to the back window I heard the shouting out the front. I just managed to get my head out of the window to tell him to get inside. I knew what they were up to though they’d been loitering at their front door for an hour.

Report to police as on a junction

nanbread · 23/10/2019 20:33

Jeez I can feel my blood pressure rising just reading this. I really hope the police take it seriously now. Good luck.

MissMarple0203 · 23/10/2019 20:42

This is absolutely shocking, I am outraged on your behalf.

Do you have neighborhood tasking meetings?

I would Email your MP again, does he have a secatary you could call and ask/bother. Normally they do surgeries...could you ask for an appointment?

Could MN move this thread to the legal bit? Maybe some one with legal expertise in land/parking could offer advise/support

The bit about being parked on Mud seems very odd. Did you get the details of the officer who said this to you?

I can imagine this is extremely unpleasant and overwhelming especially after having a baby.

Hmm
ThreeLittleDots · 23/10/2019 21:02

wants a phone call from the landlord within 24 hours

Again - the letting agency have told you they don't manage the property... they will not be able to give out any information and will be loathe to get involved as they aren't getting paid by the landlord any more.

You really really need I check the title register - I posted the link above. It's £3, takes a few mins to sign up and download the file instantly. This should be your first step, not a last resort.

badfurday · 23/10/2019 21:11

God what complete and utter pricks. The audacity of some people of unreal! We're all here supporting you! They are 100% in the wrong.
