New family just moved in to a rented house technically down the side of our house. They have 4 cars, one parking space. The street has space for 5 cars in total, so they deem this a suitable place to park - right across our drive.

Having asked them to move it, I got told they have nowhere to park and he doesn’t want his daughter walking too far to get to her car. Aibu to think we shouldn’t be inconvenienced because these people didn’t think ahead when deciding to rent this house, and what the hell can you do in these circumstances?

Delurking to say well done for the way you have handled this, I'm glad you've had some positive news and fingers crossed that does the job.
Can't believe what a bunch of twats they are, unfortunately not surprised to hear another police officer thinks they are above the law Sad

Raindancer411 · 11/11/2019 17:33

Great news!!!

ChikiTIKI · 11/11/2019 19:49

This is great news. Well done on persevering through all this. Hopefully once they get something formal from the council they will leave you alone xxxx

NameChangeEveryThreeThreads · 11/11/2019 20:12

Amazing! Please do keep us updated! Not because your life is a soap opera but because I so genuinely have felt rage on your behalf! I hope they get everything they deserve!!

forgivemeimnew · 11/11/2019 20:23

Yayyy! Fantastic update! I’m so pleased for you Smile

lonelyonee · 11/11/2019 20:39

Wehay! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I'd love to be a fly on the wall in their house 🙊 bet they think they're clever don't they! Absolute bellends! Keep us updated op, but hopefully this will stop them 🤞🏻

IndianaMoleWoman · 11/11/2019 21:37

Wow! I’ve just spent a few hours RTFT. What a rollercoaster you’ve been on, OP. Well done for saying sane - looks like your patience and self-control have finally been rewarded. I really, really hope this is the end of this horrible matter and you and your family can get some peace.

Having said that, I’d still ensure that the landlord is fully aware of every single thing that’s happened - hopefully they’ll lose their deposit as they may be lowering the value of the house due to the high number of anti-social behaviour reports on the street!

All the best, OP.

wineconnoisseur · 11/11/2019 23:27

That's really good news OP hopefully something actually gets done! I really hope he loses his job, the twat!

StoneofDestiny · 12/11/2019 00:40

I hope if he is a police officer that he is sacked.

HouseworkAvoider10 · 12/11/2019 00:48

Feckin' hell.
Some people just unbelievable.
well done OP

bluejayblue · 12/11/2019 01:43

The standard of the police in this country really has declined. Well done OP for staying strong and not letting him get away with his entitled behaviour. And yes I hope he does lose his job, he clearly is not someone who can be trusted with any amount of power!

SisterhoodOfKahn · 12/11/2019 01:52

Omg! Thank god for that!!! Well done you!!!

Is he a "real" policeman then?

NarcolepticOuchMouse · 12/11/2019 02:29

I really don't think that dick is CID, it takes alot of hard work, exams and a lengthy time actually being good at your job to get there. I doubt some wanker who doesn't have a grasp on parking laws fits the bill.
Fantastic outcome though, now if they do it again they're stuffed.

LendAnEar · 12/11/2019 02:50

Wow OP. I'm so sorry you've had to endure months of this stress! Well done you for keeping calm and not giving up! Hope things settle down now and karma smacks those cunts right in their smug faces Flowers

FlamingoAndJohn · 12/11/2019 06:20

I agree that he’s not CID. I believe one actual officer said that he worked for the police. That does not mean he’s a policeman.

IndianaMoleWoman · 12/11/2019 06:37

You’d think that anyone who works for the police, officer or otherwise would be told on day one of training that they don’t get any special privileges and, if anything, they should be held more accountable for their actions as they’re representing the force.

FlamingoAndJohn · 12/11/2019 07:08

And frankly anyone who pulls that shit from novice bobby to chief inspector is a twat.

Burtiebojangles · 12/11/2019 08:50

Oh wow, thank you for all your messages and support. I feel like I’ve taken you all on a real journey haha.

I’ll definitely keep you all posted, there is a letter being hand delivered to them this morning. He’s definitely in the police in some capacity, not sure if he is CID but he’s been spoken to by the sergeant who by the sounds of it is his senior. I have no idea what the structure of the police is so don’t know if that has any indication.

I just can’t believe that they thought all this was worth it, I’m so thankful for everything the council have done, I can actually sleep through the night now not worrying that we’ll be blocked but I still really hope he gets his comeuppance. Without being all woe me, he can find somewhere else to live, get a new job, I’ll never get this time back with my first child. Got my first KIT day at work tomorrow and back full time in 2 weeks, I only took 6 months because we took shared leave, not expecting any problems, but with this on top of the hospital stuff, they’ve done a good job at trying to ruin it completely.

Saying that, knowing my luck I’ll walk back into work and be saddled with something else to stress about tomorrow, haha.

@Burtiebojangles I've been following this. If he is a member of police staff, that's bad enough but if he's an officer, then he is a disgrace. All this, just to prove a point? To cause you all this stress? Deserves everything he gets, imo.
Only thing, please don't think all officers are like that. There are some decent ones out there (hope people I deal with think that I'm one of them). I wish I was his manager. I'd hand him his arse on a plate.
Keeping everything crossed for you, my lovely

StoneofDestiny · 12/11/2019 16:17

Any normal police officer would be annoyed that a prat like this can give other officers a bad name. I really home he is professionally arse kicked

justilou1 · 13/11/2019 00:23

Definitely a sackable offense does police to throw their weight around like that in Australia. (Some still try it, though.)

Stressedout10 · 13/11/2019 23:05

How have things been today?

AliBear90 · 14/11/2019 00:03

So glad you finally have what sounds like a good result. Seriously hoping that this works and they start behaving like decent neighbours (they should really owe you an apology tbh)

titnomatani · 14/11/2019 00:54

Bloody hell. Can't believe I missed this thread. Just come across it and I am so angry on your behalf @Burtiebojangles. Have they behaved since? Is your son okay? How are you doing?

TinklyLittleLaugh · 14/11/2019 02:59

Laughing at the idea that the South Yorkshire Police would give a damn about one of their officers breaking the law and behaving like a total dick.
