Just been released

assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/831199/20190802_Latest_Yellowhammer_Planning_assumptions_CDL.pdf

And I wonder what Number 15 is. It's been redacted.

So much to highlight:

Impact of food and fuel prices on poorer people.
Impact exacerbated due to winter flu issues at that time of year
Lorries delayed and flow reduced to 40 - 60%

And I'm only on page 1

Looking forward to forensic questioning by John Humphreys on the Today programme.

Don’t hold your breath Smile

SheWoreBlueVelvet · 11/09/2019 21:43

When are you Leavers just going to admit that you got it wrong? Go on. Just try it. You'll feel better

The reasons people voted Leave haven’t gone anywhere though. We were wrong to assume that Remain voters would be able to cope with losing the vote, I’ll give you that.

Kit19 · 11/09/2019 21:43

Its the same document that was leaked to the Sunday times except that one was labelled “base scenario” whereas this identical document had been mysteriously relabelled “reasonable worst case scenario”

I also don’t see how an actual government document written by the civil service and reviewed and discussed at cabinet can be ‘project fear propaganda’

MaudBaileysGreenTurban · 11/09/2019 21:44

What were your reasons, SheWore?

chomalungma · 11/09/2019 21:44

The reasons people voted Leave haven’t gone anywhere though

I hope it's all worth it......

It is not scaremongering. Ffs! This is direct from the government. This is Boris' document.

WaterSheep · 11/09/2019 21:44

The reasons people voted Leave haven’t gone anywhere though.

What reasons? When faced with how bad this is likely to be, what do you get out of leaving?

kingsassassin · 11/09/2019 21:45

We can cope with losing the vote. Even leavers are not likely to cope well with losing medicine, fuel and food.

ContinuityError · 11/09/2019 21:46

This contradicts the Yellowhammer planning document. This could mean that Gove lied, or hadn't read the document, or mis-understood it

I think you are too kind with offering the benefit of the doubt to Gove.

He’s not stupid.

chomalungma · 11/09/2019 21:47

Certain types of fresh food supply will decrease, limiting choice and availability - especially given its Christmas period.

This will impact the price - which will impact vulnerable groups.
There may be panic buying.

Question Time will be interesting tomorrow night.
Should the PM obey the law?
Was protoguing unlawful?
What scenario in Yellowhammer are the panel most concerned about?

Why the fuck not? Blood on your hands tbh.

TooTrueToBeGood · 11/09/2019 21:53

This could mean that Gove lied, or hadn't read the document, or mis-understood it.

That weasley little shitstain could manage to do all three even though it should be logically impossible.

Voila212 · 11/09/2019 21:53

Honestly I don't think it matters, I have been on several news sites and the common consensus is 'project fear, that's only worse case scenario, I support Boris and no deal and it will be worth it to be free'. They don't care.

CactusAndCacti · 11/09/2019 21:54

I have no words - this is going to be shit, really, really shit.

I may find it very hard to be nice to some people.

pointythings · 11/09/2019 21:55

Well, if any of the things in this document happen, it will All Be The Fault Of The Remoaners for Not BeLeaving In Brexit and Not Getting Behind Plucky Old Blighty Standing Up To The Horrible EU Bullies.

Or something.

Personally I think anyone who reads this and still thinks No Deal is a good idea needs to give their head a wobble and listen to the hollow rattling inside.

TooTrueToBeGood · 11/09/2019 21:56

The reasons people voted Leave haven’t gone anywhere though

I would imagine that most people who voted leave did so because they believed the pro-brexit politicians that everything would work out swimmingly. We have had more than enough evidence over the past 3 years that they were talking out their arseholes.

MaudBaileysGreenTurban · 11/09/2019 21:56

No reasons, SheWore? No justification for this absolute fucking shitshow?

I mean, I'm assuming you knew that you were voting for all of this, didn't you?

ThePallidBustOfPallas · 11/09/2019 21:56

Loving the Leaver mentality. Don't give a shite about the consequences just so they can have their 'We Won' badge. This is up there with turkeys voting for Christmas.
If you really really (still) think this is about 'Won' and 'Lost' then you are frankly ill-equipped to vote on anything more taxing than whether or not to have another round of toast.

This is sickening. We're fucked.

WaterSheep · 11/09/2019 21:58

No reasons, SheWore? No justification for this absolute fucking shitshow?

There are plenty of leavers who mention reasons, but very few actually manage to put them down in writing. Funny that...

TooTrueToBeGood · 11/09/2019 21:58

I wonder if the Irish will appreciate the irony should we run out of potatoes. They deserve a laugh at our expense.

chomalungma · 11/09/2019 21:58

Daily Mail focusing on the fact that is says there won't be food shortages.

Top rated comment is 'Nothing comes without pain'

I honestly don't get this mentality.

Reading on Twitter that the actual worst case scenario is called Black Swan and they won't release that one
