Just been released

assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/831199/20190802_Latest_Yellowhammer_Planning_assumptions_CDL.pdf

And I wonder what Number 15 is. It's been redacted.

So much to highlight:

Impact of food and fuel prices on poorer people.
Impact exacerbated due to winter flu issues at that time of year
Lorries delayed and flow reduced to 40 - 60%

And I'm only on page 1

No it is base scenario. a.k.a what is most likely to happen.

But interesting to see that it has now gone from 'worst case' to 'absolute worst case' and how are we going to prevent these things happening?

Ohflippineck · 17/09/2019 11:46

I can’t find the get ready for TV ad anywhere, would like to see it. Can anyone point me to a link, I’m finding nothing (the one directed at the public, not businesses). Thanks.

LimitIsUp · 17/09/2019 14:37

I can't believe that people are still peddling the falsehood that Yellowhammer is a worse case scenario. This has been covered extensively, not just on the thread, but in the media

CactusAndCacti · 17/09/2019 15:28

limit tbf to people on here even one of my local Tory leaver MP's is telling everyone it is worst case. No one stands a chance when even those involved are playing it down.

bellinisurge · 17/09/2019 15:51

If you think it shows the worst case scenario you are a bit naive.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 17/09/2019 17:18

A FT article about how yellowhammer accruals massively plays down the port disruption - it assumes that most vehicles will be turned away for incorrect paperwork and therefore the queues will consist only of those with correct paperwork

Fun for everyone from Surrey to Dover...

CactusAndCacti · 17/09/2019 18:10

On the way to work today there was a message on the overhead gantry about making sure you had the right paperwork, this is the NE.

Cries of left wing scum from Brexiteers outside court.

Thanks watersheep - bonkers comments from hard core no deal leavers.

Also just seen this:

www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/brexit-no-deal-operation-yellowhammer-boris-johnson-cars-ports-a9108471.html%3famp

What was that about yellowhammer supposedly being "worst case scenario"? Liars all!

chomalungma · 19/09/2019 07:29

Just seen a person on BBC Breakfast say that it didn't matter to him if his life saving insulin didn't get through because we voted Leave without a deal. He was very passionate about it.

I don't know how you get someone like that to change their mind.

I heard a woman from the brexit party talking on woman's hour yesterday. She was saying that if the economy collapses after Brexit it will be the fault of the remainers for deliberately trying to sabotage getting a deal... Hmm She was also of the belief that medication supply problems won't be a thing because (in her words) 'The NHS won't allow a nation of people to be without life saving medication'. Like she actually believes that 'The NHS' can stop it from happening! Laughable really. The 'NHS' is just run by people - it's not some sort of infallible organisation immune to the same problems as anywhere else. Absolutely deluded. She's going to have a nasty surprise if she really believes the NHS have planned for Brexit better than anyone else. How many senior clinicians have spoken out to the Press about how disastrous things could be?

I needed to have that rant and get it out there... I was shouting at the radio yesterday.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 19/09/2019 07:44

If the NHS could control shortages, there wouldn't be a huge phalanx of women trying desperately to get hold of their hrt at the moment.

Ellapaella · 19/09/2019 07:45

Exactly.

LaurieMarlow · 19/09/2019 07:54

It doesn’t surprise me to see this attitude.

Many brexiteers have a pathological problem with taking responsibility for their own actions. Everything is the EU’s fault, immigrants fault. Now they’ll be looking for new scapegoats. Confused

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 19/09/2019 07:57

I’ve no idea where some of these people get their ideas from, Ellapella. For a start neither this government nor the last government seem to be able to communicate what might happen so the NHS can actually plan. And on top of that the NHS is at breaking point and already facing an unprecedented capacity problem which it’s trying to organise it’s way out of.

Ellapaella · 19/09/2019 08:00

Yep, the potential for no deal Brexit to come right at the start of 'winter pressures' (where hospitals are already at breaking point and there are crisis meetings in every hospital everyday) is very worrying.

ReanimatedSGB · 19/09/2019 08:02

@LaurieMarlow Yes, that's very true - hardcore Brexiteers, like all those 'ordinary' people who fall for fascist bullshit, are losers who are obsessed with blaming other people for their troubles. And always the wrong other people, as well.

Songsofexperience · 19/09/2019 08:05

You don't change his mind and you don't listen to him. This guy is insane I'm afraid. Fanatical.
I also doubt he's representative of the majority.

LimitIsUp · 19/09/2019 14:01

Shock that's madness!
