Just been released

assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/831199/20190802_Latest_Yellowhammer_Planning_assumptions_CDL.pdf

And I wonder what Number 15 is. It's been redacted.

So much to highlight:

Impact of food and fuel prices on poorer people.
Impact exacerbated due to winter flu issues at that time of year
Lorries delayed and flow reduced to 40 - 60%

And I'm only on page 1

What’s really really infuriating is that none of this is a surprise and yet it was all dismissed as Project Fear. How is any of this a shock? I am so angry. This is all completely avoidable and absolutely bloody ridiculous.

BettysLeftTentacle · 11/09/2019 21:13

Nnaaaaaaaaaaahhh we’ve had enough of experts. Don’t need ‘em. Didn’t need them when we won WWII, don’t need them now. It’s all project fear innit.

Hmm
WaterSheep · 11/09/2019 21:13

No mention of schools, military, emergency services

If they're willing to release the points they have, with how dire it sounds. I can only imagine how devastating the information on schools, military and emergency services will be.

iamruth · 11/09/2019 21:14

Well I find numbers 17 and 20 particularly depressing

Quellium · 11/09/2019 21:14

Michael Gove at 2:36 says Yellowhammer is a base case scenario in his evidence to the Commons Select Committee.

This isn't even the worst it could be.

Cinammoncake · 11/09/2019 21:15

Big impact on adult social care too. Medicine shortages for six months. All pretty dire. Poorest people hardest hit. And the government is trying to force this through by shutting down parliament. It's so outrageous.

pikapikachu · 11/09/2019 21:15

I am shocked at the brevity of this document.

CilantroChili · 11/09/2019 21:15

If some of you (as I do) follow the Secret Barrister on twitter, the courts are in absolute meltdown.

Did anyone watch Boris in Dublin; the EU border state?

Chloemol · 11/09/2019 21:17

If you read it there’s lots of may and could. No one will know until it happens what the actual impact will be.

chomalungma · 11/09/2019 21:17

And yet there are still people who want No Deal.

All this is perfect ammunition for anyone hoping to get someone to change their mind.

But how do you change someone's mind without them 'losing face'.

pikapikachu

I suspect the rest will have been shredded at the first whiff of Parliament’s move to force publication. Maybe I’m becoming cynical about our esteemed government Grin

chomalungma · 11/09/2019 21:19

No one will know until it happens what the actual impact will be

True. And always good to think ahead before you jump off a cliff and think what may happen to you when you fall off a cliff.

Phew. Well, that’s ok then.

Wildorchidz · 11/09/2019 21:19

Looking at this from outside the uk - it’s surreal

ChardonnaysDistantCousin · 11/09/2019 21:19

It was all dismissed s Project Fear by the Leavers.

pikapikachu · 11/09/2019 21:21

This is the Reasonable Worst Case. What happens if we have extreme weather or something? Sad

Whatsername7 · 11/09/2019 21:21

Project fear, apparently. This is horrible.

Throckmorton · 11/09/2019 21:22

Not at all surprised. Looks like us remoaners and our project fear were right all along.

WaterSheep · 11/09/2019 21:22

If you read it there’s lots of may and could. No one will know until it happens what the actual impact will be.

You're completely right, how silly of us all. It could be much worse than they're predicting. So lets just go ahead and run headfirst into chaos just to check if the predictions were right or not.

Throckmorton · 11/09/2019 21:24

@pikapikachu - worse: this is the Base scenario. The title of the document was amended between it being leaked and now

TheSultanofPingu · 11/09/2019 21:24

Anyone who still thinks Brexit is a good idea after tonight needs their head looking at.

Quellium · 11/09/2019 21:25

Oh ffs. I think that's the ad that played before the video.

Correct link :

chomalungma · 11/09/2019 21:25

If only we could ask Boris Johnson about this in Parliament - instead of him answering handpicked questions on Facebook.

What kind of country are we living in?

This is NOT NORMAL.

randomchap · 11/09/2019 21:27

I'm just glad we have a strong and stable government, imagine the chaos with the other lot in....

pikapikachu · 11/09/2019 21:27

I've had to look up what a base case scenario is and fucking hell Angry
