and if so, what did you win?

I have never won anything and I have decided to enter more competitions to up my chances. Winning the tiniest thing would probably make my day.

Also, i'm procrastinating :)

Sarahlou63 · 04/09/2019 12:52

Yes, I won 2 separate holidays (Tunisia and the Algarve) and €6,000 cash on various radio competitions when I lived in Dublin.

Also won £50 in Premium Bonds when I was 11 Grin

MulticolourMophead · 04/09/2019 12:55

The last time I won was when MN ran the comp for FitFlop shoes 😁

FenellaVelour · 04/09/2019 12:59

thefairyfellersmasterstroke · 04/09/2019 12:59

When I was 10 I came first at a beetle drive, and received the top prize - a bag of groceries, which my mum took. As close as possible to no prize at all, when you're 10...

Lovelydovey · 04/09/2019 13:01

A bespoke front door worth £5k. Bloody love it and it makes me happy every time I come home!

edwinbear · 04/09/2019 13:01

Yes - £2,500 of Penfolds wine, bottlers ranging from £20 each to £300! DH had been made redundant a few weeks before so it was a welcome ray of light at the time.

noeyedeer · 04/09/2019 13:04

I won a load of "famous double acts" videos when I was about 10. Think Tom and Jerry, Steptoe and Son, Morecambe and Wise etc. Was a competition from the local chip shop.

justthecat · 04/09/2019 13:05

Set of Power Rangers books !

user1471515926 · 04/09/2019 13:06

£100 on the 'A Minute to Win it' quiz on Radio Forth in the mid-90's Grin Bought me some snakeskin boots!

Idontwanttotalk · 04/09/2019 13:12

I won 'Bride of the month' from my wedding photographer for a photograph taken of my DF and me walking through the churchyard on the way to the church. The prize was a meal for two at a fabulous hotel.

I did get married in November (years ago) though so there probably wasn't much competition, if any.Grin

I didn't even go for the meal as I was scared by the opulence of the place.

VapeVamp12 · 04/09/2019 13:16

I won a trip to Canada with £1000 spending money.

BIL won a 2 week holiday in Thailand by just putting his business card in a bowl at a food festival!

MrsRufusdog789 · 04/09/2019 13:16

I won a competition in my local library- your favourite book as a flower arrangement in a teacup .
I saw all the other entries and was thrilled to win a gardening voucher .
Later one of the librarians brought me down to earth by telling me there had been no other entries but mine .... the librarians had made the others but of course they weren't eligible to win ....... I had to laugh ! SadConfusedHmmGrin

magicstar1 · 04/09/2019 13:21

I won a Christmas hamper on a Hampers and Roses scratchcard. Got a huge hamper full of tins of biscuits, cakes, chutneys - usual Christmas stuff. Then underneath the straw was wine, vodka, whiskey etc. Also got €50 in cash to buy a turkey and ham. It was brilliant!

jessycake · 04/09/2019 13:24

Yes I used to win regularly, but I can't get to grips with all the new type comps, pestering my friends with likes shares and tagging . A lot of people have comping buddies which makes this easier .

dollydaydream114 · 04/09/2019 13:24

I've won a few books from publisher giveaways on social media, a year's supply of a Lancome serum, a signed copy of one of Sali Hughes' beauty books, a £250 gift card to spend at my local shopping centre and most recently, a £100 voucher to spend on a Red Letter Days experience. The gift card and the serum both arrived while my DP was out of work and couldn't have been more welcome as treats were otherwise very thin on the ground during that year.

I also won a bottle of champagne in a writing competition on a work away-day, but that was quite awkward as I am a copywriter (at the time, the only one in the organisation) and they probably should have excluded me from entering Blush In my defence we didn't actually know there was going to be a prize until they handed it out at the end of the day.

hardyloveit · 04/09/2019 13:35

Jimbalaya · 04/09/2019 13:48

I won a holiday to Arizona years ago with $500 spending money and a convertible mustang rental with a prepaid fuel card. Oh, and as many cigarettes as I could smoke in a week thrown in.

Theyhaveallbeenused2 · 04/09/2019 13:51

Most exciting win was a free coffee and cake at Costa

OnlyTheTitOfTheIceberg · 04/09/2019 14:01

I've had a surprising amount of success in raffles, considering how rarely I enter them. I have won: a giant stuffed toy; a food hamper; a tablet and a complimentary therapy treatment (four completely different raffles).

stanski · 04/09/2019 14:04

Biggest one was a week free stay in a 4* resort in Sardinia for 5 people.

Ringdonna · 04/09/2019 14:35

Many years ago in the 1970s I was a serious ‘Comper’ . When they would have leaflets in the supermarket where you could answer a simple question then write a slogan. Won a colour TV when they first came out, holiday to Greece plus loads of other household stuff plus money. Used to buy Competitors Journal every week.
