and if so, what did you win?

I have never won anything and I have decided to enter more competitions to up my chances. Winning the tiniest thing would probably make my day.

Also, i'm procrastinating :)

Won £200 Michelin star restaurant voucher. Spent it at Purnell's in Brum a couple of weeks ago.

Roselilly36 · 04/09/2019 17:50

I won an amazing holiday to Canada, couldn’t believe my luck.

Squirrel23 · 04/09/2019 17:58

After reading all these I feel like the only one who's a big fat "NO" to this question! Confused

AragonsGirl · 04/09/2019 18:07

No never. But it’s a self fulfilling prophecy as I now never enter because I’m certain I won’t win!

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 04/09/2019 18:19

A leather football (childhood)
£5 from a Mini Cheddars competition (childhood)
A Christmas hamper from the village fair
£20 on an impulsive scratchcard on our wedding anniversary
A set of 2 Christmas plates

Used to enter three or four a week and won regularly.

My favourite prize was a top-of-the-range hoover (I know, I know.)

I used to subscribe to Competitors Companion, long before the internet became commonplace and I was very good at writing slogans.

Have also won champagne, high-end chocolates (I loved that prize) and clothes.

I can't cope with all the online comps these days but I do send in solutions to crossword puzzles regularly.

I live in hope.

ooooohbetty · 04/09/2019 18:26

Tickets to see a band. I also won a couple of grand from filling in online surveys where you are entered into a prize draw.

whattodowith · 04/09/2019 18:28

I’ve won a couple of minor ones on Instagram, nothing huge. I enter them every day on Instagram and I’ve only won the ones with little turnout. It’s hard to win competitions, a bit like the lottery.

Fcukthisshit · 04/09/2019 18:38

I won some kind of nature set when I was about 5 or 6. It was presented by bill oddie in a supermarket Hmm

feeona123 · 04/09/2019 18:39

Lots but I enter lots of competitions but not as much as I did a few years ago.

Latest win is a day out at Salon Prive at Blenheim Palace on Saturday...tickets £195 each!

Uniformuniformuniform · 04/09/2019 18:47

Where is everyone entering these competitions?

itbemay1 · 04/09/2019 18:49

£70 on a scratch card
That's it Grin

Dramaofallama · 04/09/2019 18:55

I won a colouring in competition when I was 7, I got invited to look around the local police station and have my lunch there but was not allowed to ride in the police car or see the prisoners so it was a bit disappointing.
My dad one first prize at his local pub once in a raffle. He was well chuffed and believed he would get either a good joint of meat or some beers so it was quite a shock when they handed him over this giant 5ft teddy bear! My mum has never let him live it down Grin

Dramaofallama · 04/09/2019 18:56

Won*

ErrolTheDragon · 04/09/2019 19:01

I once won a competition on MN - something like 'if Shakespeare was a mumsnetter'.
IIRC my contributions were along the lines of 'Tell me, where is fancy bre(ad) ?' - 'end of aisle 12 after the cakes' and '2b or not 2b.... can anyone explain these national curriculum levels to me?'

The prize was an MN 'Naice Coffee' mug, which sadly arrived with a broken handle so it serves as a pen holder.

AKAanothername · 04/09/2019 19:03

I won a flat in Battersea, it was an Evening Standard competition, just had to cut out twelve tokens and send them in.

ButterflyOne1 · 04/09/2019 21:56

@wtrurly Just be consistent and do it daily. Only enter competitions you actually want to win. Lots of ticket ones are for set days so it's pointless entering if you can't go.

I use auto fill on my phone to make entering easier.

Best of luck.

userxx · 04/09/2019 22:00

Montage Jeunesse face masks, 3 of them. Result.

AllTheUserNamesAreTaken · 04/09/2019 22:01

I won a weekend in Madrid with some spending money. Not won anything else before or since

WarmSunBlueSkies · 04/09/2019 22:03

I'm old. Anyone else old who could answer a burning question from my 80s childhood?

Did anyone ever, really win a pony?
