and if so, what did you win?

I have never won anything and I have decided to enter more competitions to up my chances. Winning the tiniest thing would probably make my day.

Also, i'm procrastinating :)

Yes a raffle prize. It was my company's logo branded golf umbrella which had been donated to a PTA quiz our company had been invited to as a colleague was a Governor. All the prize winners before me took all the donated bottles of wine. Bastards. I still have the umbrella 20 years later though.

I have entered SO many but no wins yet. They say you need to go for volume but I think I was entering a good few hundred a week through comp sites at one stage and not a sausage! I believe there is such a thing as competition luck!

Absoluteunit · 05/09/2019 07:23

I won £600 at bingo once; does that count?

Oh and I won a £100 voucher on one of the sponsored threads on here.

I would LOVE to win a holiday 😍

NotQuiteUsual · 05/09/2019 07:23

I've won loads of small bits and bobs. I won tickets to a local museum, a home spa kit, a baby carrier and every single school raffle to the point we don't buy tickets anymore as it's not fair.

My family has very good luck as a weird inherited trait. My Dad has it, I have it and my first born has it. If all three of us buy raffle tickets it's just a given we'll win, never anything huge though. Just nice little bits and bobs.

Absoluteunit · 05/09/2019 07:25

Ooh just remembered I also won a lovely Fortnum's hamper one Christmas!

Puzzledandpissedoff · 05/09/2019 13:06

for those of you who won holidays, where did you enter?

For me it was a thing run by the cruising forum I belong to; the actual deal was that the winner got the free cruise in return for a daily blog, lots of photos and a full, published review at the end

Considering what in all honesty I was obliged to say, I'm sure HAL wished I'd never boarded in the first place ... but not as much as I wished the same

I get chosen for a few product tests on here and have had a free view box, coffee machine, butter, crisps, and a Luvabella plus a few more, then I was chosen out of all the product testers and got a £300 amazon voucher for reviewing the free Luvabella!

wtrurly · 05/09/2019 13:45

I've won hundreds of comps over the years (and I'm talking well over 30 years!)

I've been to New York 5 times and only paid once (my honeymoon). The last NYC trip was last year and I took someone I met OLD (the only condition being she bought me a hot dog)!! Several other holidays, British grand Prix, the best Edinburgh festival weekend you could ever imagine. And the only thing I usually do is answer a question and enter my details.

I've even won a Mumsnet competition although I only actually found this in my inbox a few weeks ago Confused...

Hi **,

You recently entered a Mumsnet Walker Books competition and we're pleased to say you've won the runners-up prize which is a copy of J.Smith.

Could you send us your full name, address and contact details including a contact number and email address so we can pass them on to the PR company who are organising the prize?

If we don't hear back from you within the next 14 days we'll pass this on to a runner-up.

Best wishes and congratulations,
*

Wonder if it's too late to claim? Grin

LittleMissMe99 · 05/09/2019 14:01

@wtrurly I often enter giveaways on social media as they are pretty low entry. But there are websites like the prize finder that list giveaways. The key is to enter as many as you can and don't give up! Only enter for things you want or need, so you're not wasting time on others. Good luck!

WellGoshDarnIt · 05/09/2019 14:53

@WarmSunBlueSkies - I used to ride with a girl, (many years ago!), who did indeed win her pony in the WHSmith Win a Pony competition! Apparently you were allowed to choose the pony yourself and given a budget. I initially thought she was having us all on but her parents confirmed the story.

From one local radio station, over a number of years, I have won a years family pass to royal palaces, voucher for beauty treatments in the value of the # of the station (over £100), family day out at Madame Tussaud’s with meal at planet Hollywood, tickets to a play and tickets to a musical

From a major radio station, many many years ago, my DH won a trip for us all to go see England football team training, photos and lunch w team, signed shirt. We were collected by posh car in central London (where we lived at the time) and driven out to training grounds in the countryside and back again. DC loved it too, see all his heroes (he was all of 7 at the time so big deal to him and his friends) and that shirt was prized possession for years

sueelleker · 06/09/2019 07:02

I've won a week at Butlins, Bognor; and tickets to the "Captain Beaky" show at the Royal Albert Hall. Both a few years ago.

greentheme23 · 06/09/2019 07:03

£500 in a Habitat competition.

sandgrown · 06/09/2019 07:58

Just remembered I won a Cineworld annual.pass from a cereal packet. A guy at work kept entering a horse racing comp in the local paper. He asked me to submit an entry for him and he would share the prize .I actually won and had my picture in the local.paper as a top tipster ! Lots of friends contacted me as they did not realise I was into racing ??

sm40 · 06/09/2019 07:59

peakygal · 06/09/2019 08:15

Oysterbabe · 01/09/2020 06:57

A 'slumber party kit' from Just 17 magazine. It included mudpacks, nail varnish, dime bars and a DVD of the film calendar girls.

My sister enter hundreds of competitions every day and has won absolutely loads of stuff. Most of the contents of her house is from competitions.
