To think girls can wear clothes with dinosaurs on?

I was looking at baby clothes for my baby with my family, I don’t know the sex. I pick out a nice set with dinosaurs on, I think it was green. DSis says “what if it’s a girl?” I said girls can wear dinosaur patterned clothes too?! DM thought I was going “too far”. Am I BU? Or are they being insane? Would you dress your daughter in clothes with dinosaurs on?

My DD has that one too @EmperorBallpitine :D

DD mostly wore DS's old sleepsuits as a baby. They were only going to get puked and shat on so I didn't see the point of buying new, pink ones. If people thought she was a boy I just smiled and nodded. I was never going to see them again so who cared?

WhyBirdStop · 03/09/2019 18:06

I bought some brightly/primary coloured things and some with dinosaurs etc on before I knew DS was an S not a D, SIL said I must've known I was having a boy as no one puts their boys in bright colours and dinosaurs! I absolutely would have.

I have been considering this dress. I'm a girl. Inasmuch as a 42-year-old woman can be a girl.

jojojowo · 03/09/2019 18:11

I have recently bought 17yo DD a dinosaur t-shirt
No problem whatsoever

Aaarrgghhh · 03/09/2019 18:19

Meh, fuck what others say. I would buy the blue coloured sleepsuits as well as the pink for my kids, no big deal. My five year old at three would pick pyjamas from the boys section and be fine with that. Now she is at school she is clearly associating with kids of very rigid parents because she started wearing trousers and was called a boy. People need to do one with boy this and girl that unless it relates to what actually makes someone the sex they are. This is how we end up with the fucking mess that is teenagers today.

Aaarrgghhh · 03/09/2019 18:19

steff13 I’m curious about the dress but can’t see anything because of data protection laws or some crap. Could you take a screenshot of it?

JustDanceAddict · 03/09/2019 18:25

Love dinos! I’m sure DD had a girly Dino top from
H&M.,

moonpiggle · 03/09/2019 18:34

Of course they can. Iv just bought my 6 year old daughter a dinosaur lunch bag and accessories for school, its fine.

Unreasonable123 · 03/09/2019 18:36

No I wouldn’t.

Yellowpolkadot · 03/09/2019 18:39

Dd wears dinosaurs all the time, and rugby shirts, and has a football shirt... still no penis

horse4course · 03/09/2019 18:39

Dress her in what you like. You've got about 2 yrs until she starts asserting her own views.

Shop in any section you want.

Yellowpolkadot · 03/09/2019 18:42

Dd also has this and its my favourite thing in her wardrobe for going out exploring! (She’s a tiny dot of a one year old)

I recently bought a tunic/loose mini dress with flying pterodactyls all over it. I was really excited about my dinosaur dress until someone pointed out that they were, in fact, herons.

AmateurSwami · 03/09/2019 18:46

There’s been a massive “girls wear dinosaurs” trend for the past 4-5 years, your sis obviously lives under a rock.

I'm a 26 year old woman and the proud owner of this dinosaur dress which I regularly wear to work: joanieclothing.com/barbara-dinosaur-botanical-garden.html

Dd starts tomo and I’ve hesitated in packing her PE kit in her spiderman in case she gets called a boy. I don’t know if I’m making it worse but can’t deal with the stupidity.

I love dinosaurs and had my son been a girl I would definitely have dressed her in dinosaur clothes (if they had been available back then).

All the dinosaurs in Jurassic Park were female.

youarenotkiddingme · 03/09/2019 18:57

My ds had a dinosaur t shirt.
My cousins DD fell in love with it and was handed down to her.
Then my Dnephew wanted it after her.

It's been doing the rounds for 7 years and is currently being worn by my cousins other DD.

Your family are weird.

My family just love looking at pictures of all the kids wearing the same t shirt.

Back when me and my cousins were small we were all dressed in same coats or shell suits as our siblings. That was less cute Wink

Leftielefterson · 03/09/2019 19:22

My dd is currently sporting a Tyrannosaurus rex baby grow, which, right now is rather fitting given her current mood (teething!).

Aaarrgghhh · 03/09/2019 19:22

steff13 That’s really nice, I love the colours. Go for it. Although, you may need tights with it soon the way the weather is going lol

Aaarrgghhh · 03/09/2019 19:22

Then again, my comment is assuming you are in the UK.
