To think girls can wear clothes with dinosaurs on?

I was looking at baby clothes for my baby with my family, I don’t know the sex. I pick out a nice set with dinosaurs on, I think it was green. DSis says “what if it’s a girl?” I said girls can wear dinosaur patterned clothes too?! DM thought I was going “too far”. Am I BU? Or are they being insane? Would you dress your daughter in clothes with dinosaurs on?

According to clothes manufacturers, only smiley friendly herbivores were female. They were also pink and glittery, with long eyelashes. All t-rexes were male. Explains why they're sll extinct..

Might have to get one for both DC2 (boy) and DC3 (girl) so they can match when she’s born

Definitely not unreasonable, the boys sections have some lovely clothes, I regularly buy for my little girl some nice boys stuff

I'm not one of these equality nuts who do things to make a point, but they can wear whatever they like! Girls can wear blue, boys can wear pink if they want to (although actually there's something in me that would stop me dressing my son in pink - but if he wanted to choose that colour when old enough that would be fine).

I have b/g DT’s so no opportunities to hand down baby clothes but if someone has a boy and then a girl, do they not automatically hand down baby clothes saved from their little boy? My DSis kept her DD’s baby clothes ready for DS two years later.

I hate this topic.

When I was growing up I got smothered with flowers and plastic jewellery, babies, dresses, weird fluffy stuff....when all I wated to do was watch Jurassic park, steal my brothers Dinosaur magazines with the 3D glasses that I thought was out of this world cool... watch Superman and Batman and ride my red "for boys" BMX (girls one was pink with pom poms on) but my folks did something right there and got me the one I wanted. I loved that bike to bits.

One of my sons is into Gymnastics, pink, rainbows, creative art type stuff and dance and all his friends are girls. Totally cool with me.

Don't limit him/her because I grew up confused, frustrated and angry at all the strupid gender rules.

Of course they can. My dd who is nearly 3 is dinosaur crazy. Clothes, wallpaper, bedlinen the lot. Her baby doll gets tucked up in bed with a t-rex.....

When we found out DC3 is a girl, I went through all the stuff I’d saved of DC2’s and kept all his grey/white/beige - anything that would look fine on either a boy or a girl!
Saved myself a ton of money
