To think girls can wear clothes with dinosaurs on?

I was looking at baby clothes for my baby with my family, I don’t know the sex. I pick out a nice set with dinosaurs on, I think it was green. DSis says “what if it’s a girl?” I said girls can wear dinosaur patterned clothes too?! DM thought I was going “too far”. Am I BU? Or are they being insane? Would you dress your daughter in clothes with dinosaurs on?

YABVVU OP, dinosaurs were all boys. Why do you think they died out?

Can't operate a dinosaur print babygro without a penis! True fact!

Are people really this ridiculous in 2019? How fucking depressing.

In more positive news my local sainsburys finally made a baby/toddler aisle that has all the clothes in it, with no boy/girl labelling. They even seem to have various different kinds of pants all together.

Somehow people are coping! Tiny tiny steps...

I LOVED Dinosaurs when I was little so I'm obsessed with passing that obsession to my DD. I've been pleasantly surprised with the girls selection out there - JoJo Maman Bebe, John Lewis and Mothercare sell cute rompers and dresses with dino print.

Unisex dinosaur print however looks too boyish in my opinion - but then again I thought all unisex clothes looked a bit boyish once my DD was here.

Congratulations!

If you look on Asda George just now they have a “dinosaur” in the kids collections tab, and they have catered for boys, girls and babys, with “girly” dinosaur stuff as well as neutral stuff which is fab!

drspouse · 03/09/2019 13:16

Boden sell dresses with dinosaurs on. While some boys do enjoy wearing dresses, the majority of dress-wearers are girls. QED.

IHaveBrilloHair · 03/09/2019 13:16

I have a dinosaur dress!

Celebelly · 03/09/2019 13:16

About 50% of my DD's clothes are dinosaur related. And 30% outer space, 20% unicorns.Grin

SoupDragon · 03/09/2019 13:18

DD (13) has dinosaur earrings 😂

hazandduck · 03/09/2019 13:19

My 21 month old daughter has dinosaur pyjamas! Dinosaur toys and a really cute little wooden dinosaur on a stick that she takes for walks (it rolls along the floor). She is definitely a girl! People are so stupid about gender stereotypes sometimes.

PeterRabbitt · 03/09/2019 13:20

You can borrow my 3 year old DS to desensitise her if you like. He's currently sporting football shorts, a unicorn top and his camping crocs... As far as I can tell he hasn't got a half penis half vagina situation going on as a result so that should alleviate any concerns she may have ☺️

amusedbush · 03/09/2019 13:21

I'm almost 30 and think dinosaurs are brilliant.

In fact, the first time I met one of my best friends she had not long started at my work and she wore a jumper with dinosaurs on it. I knew then that we'd be firm friends Grin

I get major clothes envy

I'm an adult woman and I love dinosaurs! I've actually recently been looking for adult dinosaur dresses (found one at the natural history museum shop). Dinosaurs are for everyone. 🦖

Socksey · 03/09/2019 13:22

Adult female geologist here... dinosaurs are good...

YesItsMeIDontCare · 03/09/2019 13:22

I want a dinosaur dress. But not T-Rex 'cause I have a triceratops bracelet. And it must have pockets.

OhLookHeKickedTheBall · 03/09/2019 13:22

Some shops sell clothing for older girls with dinosaurs on. My DD was bought several for her last birthday. That'll blow your dms mind I'm sure.

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 03/09/2019 13:22

6yo DD wants to be a Skiing Paleontologist when she grows up (or work on lifeboats). I'm sure she owns more books on dinosaurs than the Natural History Museum. Dinosaurs are cool whichever type of pants you need.

Fudgenugget · 03/09/2019 13:22

My daughter loves Marvel and we have bought her Marvel clothing since she was about 7. She still wears Marvel t-shirts, her favourite being one with all the female characters on it. She’s 13. She likes what might be perceived as girl things too, like dresses, skirts, pastel colours, cute animals, etc. Apart from being told by a female sales assistant once we should not be looking in the “boys section” for our dd, it’s not been a thing.

Crazybunnylady123 · 03/09/2019 13:24

My little dd who is two loves dinosaurs, obsessed with Andy Day and Dinosaur Dana. Has clothes and little dinosaur figures from the CBeebies magazine. She also loves cars, helicopters, Thomas the tank engine, her little doll, rabbits and ponies. Just buy what you like don’t listen to other people.

Poppins2016 · 03/09/2019 13:26

Of course girls can be dressed in dinosaurs.

And shock horror, boys can like 'girly stuff'. My DS enjoyed playing with a doll dressed in pink the other day!

Zakana · 03/09/2019 13:26

When my daughter was little, loads of her stuff had dinosaurs on, she hated anything pink, girly or cute. No unicorns or fairies for her!

TimeIhadaNameChange · 03/09/2019 13:27

@Thymejuice - check out Dresslily - they have loads of different styles such as this one. I have one and it's fab!

vampirethriller · 03/09/2019 13:28

My daughter has dinosaur pyjamas and trousers.

MildDrPepperAddiction · 03/09/2019 13:28

DD2 has loads of dinosaur clothes, she loves them. She has a beautiful dino dress I found on ebay. YANBU.
