Lidl. Had the most amazing smoked tuna with wasabi paste. I bought lots. Then they just stopped. No explanation. No goodbyes. No weaning me off.

I asked in store. They don't know. I emailed Lidl. They said they'll ask the buyers. I don't know if they did cos they didn't tell me. But it didn't reappear on the shelves.

I have googled my head off and can not find smoked tuna anywhere.

Help!! Send smoked tuna!

I'm reading about all the stuff Iv never tried and now won't have chance to try them because theyv all disappeared Bastard!!

I remember M&S fruit rock.... sigh... Could just suck a bit now..

LaMarschallin · 28/08/2019 09:21

Definitely not unreasonable.

I miss M&S freeze dried strawberries covered in white chocolate (although they may just have stopped selling them to me suspecting an addiction; they may not have been wrong...).

And the graters by Tefal (I think) sold by Lakeland that were like very big pepper grinders. They were brilliant for filling with Parmesan and putting on the table with pasta dishes. Or any other things where you might require a quick grating of Parmesan.

PaddingtonBearHardStare · 28/08/2019 10:30

@Kelsoooo that's a lovely offer but my sister found some in the little Asda Living in Anlaby yesterday (I had only checked on Sunday!). I now have 11 as that's how many they had in stock BlushGrin

brownbreadicecream · 28/08/2019 20:01

Also M&S used to do a 'boule au graines' or something which was a bread from their bakery. Gorgeous, probably my favourite bread ever. Of course the bastards stopped it.

KTD27 · 28/08/2019 20:30

Bloody Sainsbury’s and that vinegarette. Still haunts my dreams. I wrote to them about that and they told me it would be back. Never happened.
Asda and their fresh red lentil pasta sauce and Aldi and their fresh pasta. Beef ragu mezzalune. Saw once bought once then never again. Sob.

Bloomburger · 30/08/2019 17:21

Honeybee1973 they sell Labello in the co ops here in Italy. Loads of different flavours too and it's super cheap.

popehilarious · 30/08/2019 18:57

Just remembered about blueberry bagels. The main bagel manufacturers (dunno the brand name despite buying them weekly for years Blush ) used to make them. Really nice and not overly sweet.

WaterOffaDucksCrack · 30/08/2019 19:40

Mars delight bars.
Taz bars.
Solero shots.
I'm sure there are many more!!

WhyBirdStop · 30/08/2019 19:44

@Readytogogogo M&S fruit rocks were made by Thornton's, they also used to sell them in different bags, not sure if they still do!

WaterOffaDucksCrack · 30/08/2019 19:46

Oh something they used to sell in holland and barrett calles whizzes. Like smarties but allergy friendly. They also did some fruity bar things which were amazing and a mushroom pate. I hate my life now 😂

Moveoverplease · 30/08/2019 19:54

Asda used to make a cheesey enchilada jar sauce that was very mild and the only one my youngest dd will eat as she doesn't like spicy food.

Can't get it for love nor money anymore, and the brand stuff that is similar is way too spicy even though it says it's mild.

Really pisses me off Angry

LaMarschallin · 30/08/2019 20:41

Ooh, Thornton's!

They used to do minty white chocolates with crunchy bits of mint in them called Winter Frost which were lovely.
And Fruit Fondants (I think that's the name) which were quite tangy fruit-flavoured creams, unlike others which I've found rather overly sweet.

MissCharleyP · 30/08/2019 22:10

M&S used to (for a very bloody short time) do single micro meals in a sort of plastic tub but looked like a tin. Chilli & rice and chicken curry and rice are two I remember. You peeled a metal lid off, then put a plastic cover on and microwaved it. Ideal for lunches at work as not as big a portion as ready meals and took up less space in bags/cupboards. Far nicer than Uncle Bens etc. Bought twice I think in mid-2000s and never seen again.

Benjispruce · 30/08/2019 22:20

There used to be this shop in my town that sold good underwear, nice toiletries and it had a lovely food hall but they closed it. I think it was called Marks and something???!!Hmm

Florence08 · 30/08/2019 22:36

Ben & Jerry’s Cherry Garcia.
Green & Black’s with cherries.
Bendicks Bitterorange chocolates.
Sainsbury’s Earl Grey & Darjeeling tea.

All gone.

There is a standing joke in our house that the minute I decide I like something the shop plans to discontinue it 🙁

FreeButtonBee · 30/08/2019 22:40

So many things. On the upside san pelligrino have brought back their full sugar version of limonata. I bought 24 cans on Ocado and am contemplating getting the same again! I only drink one a week as am saving them.

Purplequalitystreet · 30/08/2019 22:44

I only discovered a few months ago that salt and vinegar quavers are no more. I was devastated. Why would they do such a thing?!

detachablehoof · 30/08/2019 22:44

@CookPassBabtridge arghhh yes where did joosters go??? I have such a craving now!!

Crunchymum · 30/08/2019 22:51

The one I just cannot get over (and it's been a decade or more) is Vaseline Clean cotton deodorant.

If I'd known I'd have spent my life savings on it.

Second is M&S chicken escalopes. I lived on them and then poof, they were gone.

MitziK · 30/08/2019 22:55

Yes, he's an ex. It was one of the final straws, together with driving like a prick and deliberately boil washing my brand new superexpensive lambswool blanket because he said he wanted to take it home with him and I'd said no.

It's the bath and shower gels I wanted most of all in the range - they smelled so clean and were so gentle.

Plum noodles can be bought from the Japan Centre in London (just off Picadilly) - they have online ordering - they and cherry blossom noodles tend to be a springtime thing.

jmh740 · 30/08/2019 22:56

Last few times I've been to lidl they havent had jars of black olives I went in today and they were there with a sign saying new in!

12 years ago I used to work nights near a lidl they used to have a mushroom pasta packet thing which I loved, it was my 2am meal to get me through the night, then they stopped doing it and i still miss it

MitziK · 30/08/2019 23:00

Lancôme Attraction discontinued :(

Chance Chanel just smells different now after it was reformulated a few years back...now smells like BO

Spaghetti sauce Monster Munch - we are talking DONKEYS ago

Ditto Galaxy Swirls although kind of lucky as I would probably have no teeth left if they still existed

3D Doritos 😩

Neapolitanicecream · 30/08/2019 23:02

Does anyone remember touch of class perfume? Sadly missed x

AintNobodyHereButUsChickens · 30/08/2019 23:02

My mum reckons she's cursed, she says every time she starts buying the same thing regularly, it gets discontinued. Doesn't matter if it's food, make up, artist supplies, whatever.

I really miss Mars Delight and Wotsits Cheesy Waffles Sad and Crunchie Nuggets.
