Lidl. Had the most amazing smoked tuna with wasabi paste. I bought lots. Then they just stopped. No explanation. No goodbyes. No weaning me off.

I asked in store. They don't know. I emailed Lidl. They said they'll ask the buyers. I don't know if they did cos they didn't tell me. But it didn't reappear on the shelves.

I have googled my head off and can not find smoked tuna anywhere.

Help!! Send smoked tuna!

I have never forgiven Marks and Spencer for discontinuing mini beef and prickly pies in the 1970s. They were delicious and much nicer than ordinary pork pies.

Pret are shits, I loved their chocolate drizzled pop-corn. I don’t buy from them any more, rather scoff Greggs sausage rolls.

I was looking for Apple cider vinegar today in Aldi today I wasn’t in my usual branch so thought that’s why I couldn’t find it, at least reading this thread gas saved me going to another branch as well looking in vain Sad

@Crochetymum I just Googled 'Spira' to see what you were talking about and got flashbacks just from seeing the packaging. THEY WERE SO GOOD.

totallyLosingIt · 04/09/2019 20:59

@YesQueen my sister and I often talk about the sad loss of Baked Bean pizzas.

Lemon puff biscuits seem to disappear. I suppose my fat stomach could do without.

totallyLosingIt · 04/09/2019 22:28

Fuse bars.
Wispa mint bars.
Looney Toons crisps with the characters printed on the actual crisps.
Heinz Baked Bean pizzas.
M&S Colin the caterpillar marshmallows.
Tesco beef and long claw Stilton sandwiches.
Mars delight.
Spira bars.
Marble bars.

Just too many. Looking at my personal list I think Mars and Cadbury have a lot to answer for.

Sainsbury's have discontinued their taste the difference Pesto which was the only one I can find that doesn't have cashew nuts in it. FIL is v allergic to cashews so I don't have them in the house, and so now I can't have pesto

Make it ! Roast some nuts , basil , olive oil
And garlic plus paramasan and loads of oil

I have just got back from holiday admittedly ...

Tins of water chestnuts and bamboo shoots, ideal for a stir fry for two, now I have to buy a tin of each and freeze half.
Lidl did a garlic and herb mayonnaise then stopped.
Lidl's Black Forest ham has become hit and miss even whoen they increased the price massively.
Morrisons did a mango and pink peppercorn dressing for about a month then stopped it, No demand apparently.
Years and years ago Aldi did a Texas Feuerigebohnentopf, it was a lush thick soup, where is it???
Aldi's garlic and parsley crisp bruschetta shortage if driving OH mad.

DH and I loved Lipton's Morrocan tea so, if course, they stopped making it.
PG tips then started making Liquorice and mint (which tasted same as the Morrocan) so we were happy again for a while....until they stopped making it.

Whenever we find something to eat or drink that we both love, I can guarantee the manufacturer stops making it.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 05/09/2019 12:17

Another M&S one - gummy dinosaurs! When I first met dh, he joked that he was mine for either 50p or a packet of gummy dinosaurs. The dinosaurs were then 49p a packet, so a significant saving. WinkGrin

I'd love to be able to put a pack of the gummy dinosaurs in his stocking, as a joke, but M&S won't let me.

And a Christmas one - the John Lewis gingerbread advent calendar. I used to treat myself to this every year and then last year it vanished. I was heartbroken.

My stimorol chewing gum has arrived, it smells 'right' - it's her birthday in 3 weeks so will report back if it tastes the same

mogtheexcellent · 07/09/2019 14:21

Im trying to locate some pirate matey for DDs santa sack. I think its in the process of being discontinued. Sad its a yearly tradition so not sure what im going to do.

ImpossibleNovelty · 08/09/2019 09:58

Excellent news about the stimorol, I really hope it’s the right one! I bought the Gucci Envy dupe someone suggested here and it is great. And cost £5 Grin

ImpossibleNovelty · 08/09/2019 10:01

Is this the pirate matey? On offer at Asda. Or there more than one pirate one?

fussychica · 08/09/2019 10:15

Twas ever thus!
From Max Factor discontinuing Cafe Frost eye shadow in about 1980 - I went to every chemist is a 10 mile radius and bought any they had to Aldi recently. No sign of their wonderful artichoke antipasti or luxury tonic water. You ask, they don't know, you go again still no sign, you ask again, still don't know.
Oh and M&S grape syllabub in the 80s, was fab. I still haven't forgiven them. Bastards. Now they've discontinued Stroganoff paste, I hate them!

GrumpySausage · 08/09/2019 10:16

Bit niche but tea granules. Sainsbury's just stopped doing them. I knew of nothing else until then. Who knew teabags existed? What do you mean no other household used tea granules! (Thanks Mum and dad).

I asked the lady in Sainsbury's and she actually denied they'd ever sold them 'oh no I don't think they're a thing? Do you mean coffee granules?'. NO I DO NOT AND YOU HAVE SULLIED THE LAST 20 YEARS OF MY TEA DRINKING LIFE WITH YOUR DOUBT i replied. Or something like that. Might have just been thanks.....Wink

mogtheexcellent · 08/09/2019 10:47

ImpossibleNovelty yes thats the one! Thank you. Was in asda yesterday and no sign of it. Will keep trying...

tillytrotter1 · 08/09/2019 12:46

Why can't I buy Schweppes bitter orange in the UK? I thought they'd stopped doing it but I can buy it in the Alsterhaus in Hamburg but it's a long way to go!

YesQueen · 08/09/2019 12:51

@GrumpySausage Tesco have the PG ones online and Poundland have typhoo
