Lidl. Had the most amazing smoked tuna with wasabi paste. I bought lots. Then they just stopped. No explanation. No goodbyes. No weaning me off.

I asked in store. They don't know. I emailed Lidl. They said they'll ask the buyers. I don't know if they did cos they didn't tell me. But it didn't reappear on the shelves.

I have googled my head off and can not find smoked tuna anywhere.

Help!! Send smoked tuna!

This happens to me so often it's become a running joke with OH that Sainsbury's monitor my Nectar card to decide what to discontinue next Angry

Foobanana · 30/08/2019 23:03

Greggs yummy delicious pink iced doughnuts were my craving in pregnancy. Then they changed the recipe to a tangy raspberry flavour. IT'S NOT THE SAME.
Still gutted 5 years on. Barstards.

Crunchymum · 30/08/2019 23:09

@hazandduck

Are these the Galaxy things you mean?

FckIt · 30/08/2019 23:10

Omg I remember one Christmas, Morrison's did a chocolate orange tear and share tree.
That was bloody beautiful. Never see again.

hazandduck · 30/08/2019 23:12

@Crunchymum no I don’t think so. These were from the nineties, they were little bite size oval shaped chocolates filled with caramel. Sooo delicious and sickly they make my teeth ache just remembering 🤣

MissCharleyP · 30/08/2019 23:30

hazandduck Oh I LOVED caramel swirls! Always got them at the cinema. I suspect (but have zero evidence - just my own fanciful thoughts) that the packaging made them so heavy and they were a chunky sweet anyway, people didn’t buy them as you got a lot less in a bag than say, Revels or Jelly Babies.

penguingorl · 31/08/2019 01:41

So many body shop shower gels, but mainly almond, raspberry and blueberry flavours.
Tesco nut cutlets.
Walkers plain flavoured squares.
Yankee candle Canary Island banana.
Asda own nut roast packet mix.
And yes to the annoyance of staff members telling you stuff is out of stock when it's actually discontinued.

hazandduck · 31/08/2019 02:45

Glad it’s not just me that remembers @MissCharleyP!
Found this pic even though it says Dove (think that’s the European name for Galaxy?) these are what I remember!

M & S half caff coffee has disappeared in the last few years, along with Lidl choc mousse bars, chicken paté without onions and (I suspect) Rich Milk Chocolate. Not happy!

CookPassBabtridge · 31/08/2019 06:45

@detachablehoof I know Sad Apparently they went over 10 years ago and I feel guilty for not noticing earlier because I absolutely loved them! They were so much softer and fruitier than oyher jelly beans. Starburst do sell starburst jelly beans but only in America.

notapizzaeater · 31/08/2019 06:55

Boots shapers mandarin water, was lush and no other water has ever come close.

dime bars but without the chocolate coating.

Horlicks tablets - I sometimes manage to get them from China but sooo expensive

My mum still mourns the demise of stimorol chewing gum.

TildaTurnip · 31/08/2019 07:19

Agree with the boots mandarin water!

Tesco used to do a cheese wrap in the sandwich chiller. It was delicious. It was a cheese sauce with beans I think.

ImpossibleNovelty · 31/08/2019 08:04

@notapizzaeater - an early Christmas present for your mum? jwww.<a class="break-all" href="https://amazon.co.uk/Stimorol-Original-Flavour-Sugar-Chewing/dp/B017ZYXRWG?tag=mumsnet&ascsubtag=mnforum-am-i-being-unreasonable-3675624-to-expect-shops-to-keep-selling-something-i-love" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">amazon.co.uk/Stimorol-Original-Flavour-Sugar-Chewing/dp/B017ZYXRWG
Or is it that they changed the recipe? I’m buying some (there’s a smaller pack too I think), I love it but had completely forgotten it existed. Just like the amazing green and blacks with cherry and Gucci envy (just bought the PP dupe, fingers crossed!).

hazandduck · 31/08/2019 08:20

I used to love a version of Gucci Envy called Envy Me it was a yellowy green colour. Think it’s long gone.

SleepyKat · 31/08/2019 08:25

One word - mingles!

mamaraah · 31/08/2019 08:30

This recently happened to me regarding a few products at Asda. It's annoying buy you know, whatever. I'll find a few nice new favourites Smile

notapizzaeater · 31/08/2019 08:32

@ImpossibleNovelty - fab - it’s her birthday in 3 weeks - I’ve ordered some :-)

Celticrose · 31/08/2019 08:35

This always happens to me. Something that I like then gets pulled. One is M & S fresh French dressing. They only do the low fat one now but something that I don't understand is they do it with one of their pre packed salads. Comes with the salad in a little sachet so why not also sell it in bottles. Though I have tried Mary Berry's salad dressing and it is very good. Another salad dressing I bought which I loved was an American brand Stonewall and bought it in a fancy goods shop of all places. It had a section where they sold fancy jams and chutneys etc. It was fig and balsamic. They stopped selling it and have not found anywhere else since. I got some last year when visiting friends in North America. (Bought some a couple of years previously when visiting but was not packed properly by Dh and when unpacked both bottled the glass was cracked and had to dispose of fhemSadAngry)
By the way I think M & S do raspberry jaffa cakes

Celticrose · 31/08/2019 08:41

Forgot to mention. I buy Schwartz sausage casserole mix a lot but could not get any in either Asda or Tesco's. They used to have at least three different types. Loved the Mexican one but reduced them to just the original one. Please please do not let this disappear from the shelves. I make two lots and eat one and freeze the other. A very easy meal.

Londonsuffolkmummy · 31/08/2019 08:45

Tesco sell it I’ve seen it

Londonsuffolkmummy · 31/08/2019 08:47

Be olive mayonnaise roasted garlic and pesto

Revlon outrageous shampoo

Lots of things I can’t think now

Quorn ‘lamb’ grills

HalloumiGus · 31/08/2019 09:04

Benefit discontinued my favourite eye shadow palette. I emailed them and everything. No joy. Never shopped with them since, the fuckers!

PaddingtonBearHardStare · 31/08/2019 09:12

Yes to the poster who said B&J cherry Garcia, I forgot all about that!!

LaMarschallin · 31/08/2019 09:16

Yes to the poster who said B&J cherry Garcia, I forgot all about that!!

I didn't. And I'm still bitter about the discontinuation of Bohemian Raspberry too.

EleanorReally · 31/08/2019 09:19
