For me it’s buckwheat crackers spread with plain yoghurt, wasabi + sprinkle of salt. It’s GENIUS.

Broken11Girl · 21/08/2019 08:44

Ooh wasabi and yoghurt is genius. I'm trying that on rice cakes.
Rice cakes with piccalilli here.
Also tortilla chips, mashed avocado, cheese, tomato and creme fraiche.
Cheese cut into sticks dipped in nut butter.

Coffeeandchocolate9 · 21/08/2019 08:48

Digestive biscuits topped with strong cheddar and pickle

A spoon of peanut butter stirred into cheap version of supernoodles, with peas and cubes of cheese

I used to do a plastic cheese slice or two in a sandwich with peanut butter, microwaved until the cheese melted and bread was slightly soggy!

livelaughcheese · 21/08/2019 08:52

Cold toast with butter, cheddar and apricot jam.

TomHagenMakesMyBosomTremble · 21/08/2019 08:56

Another chorizo with cream cheese fan here!

Also quite like Nutella alongside salt & vinegar chipsticks.

However, my favourite has to be salt & vinegar pop chips dipped into cream cheese.

MumW · 21/08/2019 09:05

The canteen at DD's school serves cheesy bean wraps.
Not having wraps, I made cheesy bean pittas.

MrsElijahMikaelson1 · 21/08/2019 09:08

Toast, salty butter, avocado mashed with marmite...absolutely food of the gods!

Sandwich-thick white sliced bread, thick butter, sugar, sliced banana...comfort food in the extreme.

Jimsmum61 · 21/08/2019 09:52

Red chilli chopped fine and put on fresh fruit salad and greek yoghurt...

yearinyearout · 21/08/2019 10:27

oohyoudevilyou are you serious?!

iklboo · 21/08/2019 10:27

We found the joy of gyros on holiday.

Wrap spread with creme fraiche (DH had chilli sauce as well), chicken, salad and a handful of crispy chips. Not the healthiest but so tasty - and you can make a healthier version with air fry chips.

Unshriven · 21/08/2019 11:46

RocketRacoonsFurryBalls our school did the same pudding - sometimes we'd get a cup of frothy milkshake instead of youghurt to go with the biscuits. Grin

I think the biscuits were the Viennese kind, that you make using cornflour.

RocketRacoonsFurryBalls · 21/08/2019 14:48

Unshriven that sounds good. Did they actually look Viennese, like with the whirly bit?

The biscuits I had were kind of something between a soft cookie and shortbread, but looked a bit like a rusk (???). I may die never knowing!

Wehttam · 21/08/2019 14:52

I use mini cheddars as croutons in tomato soup and on jacket spuds with beans. Delish!!

Dec2019mumtobe · 21/08/2019 14:52

White bread

Slightly heavy on the butter

Mature cheddar cheese

And your choice or either wotsits, mini cheddars or plain crisps. Salt and vinegar also acceptable.

RocketRacoonsFurryBalls · 21/08/2019 14:54

ThursdayLastWeek I was only fantasising about malt loaf (thickly sliced, thickly spread with butter, plus a hot chocolate) yesterday.

Until now it has literally never occurred to me to toast it! What kind of excellent heathen are you?!

I think fruit cake with cheese is a northern thing, yes. Something farm workers had in their “pack up” at lunchtime, possibly.

Cherrysoup · 21/08/2019 14:59

Lime pickle on buttered bread.
Celery dipped in peanut butter.
Lumps of cheese covered in chilli garnish from the kebab shop. Blush

YoureAllABunchOfBastards · 21/08/2019 15:19

Cheese and marmite crumpets

Digestive biscuits with cheese and sliced apple

Crisp sandwich - ideally prawn cocktail, but cheese and onion at a push

My go to chippy order is chips and a pineapple ring

olivesnutsandcheese · 21/08/2019 15:22

Full fat greek yogurt with cinnamon and cacao nibs. Just eaten some. Strangely has a banana flavour at times. Delish

user1471592953 · 21/08/2019 15:22

Chocolate digestives covered with chocolate spread.

Cream cheese and marmite bagels.

Rice cakes with melted cheese on top.

TatianaLarina · 21/08/2019 15:31

Full fat greek yogurt with cinnamon and cacao nibs

Oo yeah cinnamon. I eat mine with cacao nibs, honey and roast hazelnuts.

@yearinyearout

oohyoudevilyou are you serious?!

Absolutely. Sadly kids are too big for infant formula now, but it was like crack cocaine to me when they were little! Great as a hot drink in a cup, but at it's creamy best eaten as a lukewarm paste.

Duckduckduck123 · 21/08/2019 15:38

Hula hoops and raisins
Pickled onion monster munch and chocolate

LizzieVereker · 21/08/2019 15:46

DingDongDenny

I’m interested in the detailed logistics of this, if you would be so kind please Grin :

Corncakes topped with peanut butter and nutella

Do you add milk? Do you dollop or spread? Assuming dollops, how big are the dollops? What is the peanut butter/ Nutella ratio?

TIA

whocanbebothered · 21/08/2019 15:55

Tin of beans. Drain approx. 95% of sauce out. Mash beans into a paste.
Spread beany paste between 2 tortilla wraps (one tin usually makes 2 wrap "sandwiches")

Fry in oil until brown & crispy. sprinkle with salt. Slice like a pizza. Demolish.

Its addictive af I will now be eating this for dinner for the rest of the week....

DuggeesWoggle · 21/08/2019 16:03

On a low carb diet at the moment for gestational diabetes, so a standard snack for me would be a lump of cheese, handful of salted almonds or a granny smith apple cut into wedges, dusted with cinnamon and dunked in almond or peanut butter, sometimes mixed with full fat cream cheese.

Cannot wait for the day I can have slices of homemade white bread, toasted and buttered to within an inch of its life. 3 weeks to go...
