For me it’s buckwheat crackers spread with plain yoghurt, wasabi + sprinkle of salt. It’s GENIUS.

Cheese and beetroot sandwiches,
Cheddar and cucumber
Blue cheese and sliced red chilli sandwiches

Sundancer77 · 20/08/2019 23:07

Hp brown sauce on toast, mayo on toast, crumpets..I like carbs 🤷‍♀️

DontCallMeShitley · 20/08/2019 23:10

Fried cheese sandwich with chopped beetroot sprinkled in salt and left for a while. Or with coleslaw.

Falafel in pitta with chopped salad and whole chillies from a jar.

Cheese and pickled cucumbers, new green if possible.

Giggorata · 20/08/2019 23:12

I like a well buttered wrap smeared thickly with Marmite, rolled up very tightly and SQUIDGED.

BinkyBaa · 20/08/2019 23:13

Cottage cheese and sweet chilli sauce on a cracker is pretty good.

DontCallMeShitley · 20/08/2019 23:15

I used to like Ryvita with lots of butter and covered with raspberry jam, or Marmite. For some reason I can no longer eat Ryvita or rye so I miss that, could eat half a pack at a time.

HotChocolateLover · 20/08/2019 23:18

Either, Walkers ready salted crisps with broken up kitkats on top or crumpets spread with Nutella and crunchy peanut butter. Can anyone tell I love the sweet and salty combo? 😂

Tanikay · 20/08/2019 23:19

Fried sweet corn with chilli powder and salt. The sweetcorn should be fried until it’s a bit charred.
Oranges with chilli powder and salt - chilled in the fridge
Mangoes with chilli powder and salt. Anything with chilli powder and salt Blush

WeAreRevoltingChildren · 20/08/2019 23:22

Discovered by accident and have only made them once or twice as probably quite unhealthy but toasted crumpets with a very generous pile of grated cheese on top and microwaved til the cheese is well melted and seeping down in to the holes. TO DIE FOR!
(You can add marmite if you like, depending on whether you're a lover or a hater - I'm firmly in the lover camp)

Tidyroomfinally · 20/08/2019 23:23

Another fan of chunks of cheese.
Also: potato toasties (like a cheese and onion pasty really).
Peanut butter and dried apricot sandwiches.
Piece of lemon dipped in sugar.
Raw broccoli stalks sliced up and dipped in olive oil (got the idea from Hugh fearnley whittingstall)
One I discovered the other day: if you take the end of a peanut butter jar , a bit of crumbled chicken stock cube, add hot water and shake like mad, it produces something a bit like a cuppasoup but better

Tidyroomfinally · 20/08/2019 23:24

@WeAreRevoltingChildren omg yes I had forgotten about this! Only I usually put it under the grill

Bowerbird5 · 20/08/2019 23:28

Tartyflette · 20/08/2019 23:57

When I was poorly as a child my mum used to make me a bowl of Heinz tomato soup with a dollop of mash in it, topped with a mound of grated cheese.
Loved it. (But Heinz tomato soup is way too sweet these days.)
Favourite grown up snack is fish fingers on toasted cheese and a layer of sauerkraut, (under the FFs but on top of the cheese,) drizzled with mayo and chilli ketchup. A bit like a fish finger Reuben.

Oysterbabe · 21/08/2019 00:00

Potato waffle sandwich. Pop them in the toaster, nasty white bread covered in Ketchup and you have an amazing stodgy snack in a couple of minutes.

NavyBlueHue · 21/08/2019 00:01

Tinned tuna mixed with salad cream.
Scooped up with Ready Salted Walkers crisps.
So good!

Cold tinned peas and salt

Peanut butter and jam wraps Blush

Melancholymuffin · 21/08/2019 00:02
