For me it’s buckwheat crackers spread with plain yoghurt, wasabi + sprinkle of salt. It’s GENIUS.

Mini pork pie, use a knife to slice the lid off, then carefully cut around the meat and flip it out of the pastry. Squidge of ketchup in the pastry, meat back in, lid on top. Deeelightful.

Also I'm a master of crisps- take any bag of crisps, open it, and fill it with bits of cheese, cut up ham, cut up pork pie, pickled onions etc - shake the back and enjoy picking out crisps and tasty extras yum yum

Dis is rather partial to bacon and Nutella croissants. He was born for Premier Inn breakfasts.

As a kid I used to love adding salad cream to my mash.

WellVersedInEtiquette · 22/08/2019 23:05

Used to love making this. I had it a bit back and it was just as good.
Giant jacket potato cooked
Scoop out the insides and mix with grated cheese, milk, tuna and a little vinegar and salt. Shove as much as poss back into the potato skin, pile the rest on top, but more grated cheese and then back in the microwave for a few minutes 🤪

Mascarpone with Meridian peanut butter and sweetener of choice. Wish I'd never heard of this, it's quite addictive!

pollywollydoodler · 23/08/2019 01:32

My brother loves chip shop Pukka pie with a layer of mushy peas (on the soggy bottom side) in a sandwich
I like cream crackers with a bit of HP and cheddar blitzed in the microwave for a few seconds

pollywollydoodler · 23/08/2019 01:43

Oh and our local pub has big jars of pickled eggs which they serve in bun cases.
The lads eat theirs with chilli sauce on but I like to drop mine in a bag of crunched up salt and vinegar crisps

RockinHippy · 23/08/2019 01:52

Melba toast spread with crunchy peanut butter & topped with sweet chilli sauce

A tablespoon of "Utterly Butterly" mixed with a teaspoon of Marmite (obviously you can vary the quantities according to hunger levels but you MUST maintain the ratio) spread thickly onto the rough side of cream crackers. Ideally it needs to be spread so thickly that you leave teeth marks when you bite into it.

@ikboo Were you in Greece when you found Gyros's , we went to Rhodes many years ago and once we discovered them it was our mission to find a different cafe / street vendor every day to buy one from . they are so tasty particularly a good chicken one.

Thick sliced malt loaf toasted until it is crispy round the edges but soft in the middle grated strong cheese or Stilton made into a sandwich quickly so the cheese melts

Dark fruit cake , xmas cake is the best and stilton , and yes I think it is a northern thing ( I am from the north west )

SamBeckett · 24/08/2019 10:08

@BikeRunSki bloody hell I am not surprised you do not like crackers, that is hash treatment when you were a kid , and not great later .
perhaps try it on mini chedders or ritz crackers

IABUQueen · 24/08/2019 10:12

Tuna, lemon, garlic and olive oil with coriander on toast. Yum

SamBeckett · 24/08/2019 10:15

@arseface Cheese should be sold like chocolate, in squares we can snap off and scoff. YES ! ! !

There seems to be a lot of snacks that involve cheese, peanut butter and /or and Marmite ( this is a good thing ! )
I will be back in a few minuets with my take on this combo . .. . . . . . . .

SamBeckett · 24/08/2019 10:41

Cracker with peanut butter and jam (we call it poor mans cream tea )

BikeRunSki · 24/08/2019 10:56

@SamBeckett - Mini Cheddars are an essential food group aren’t they? Especially the Red Leicester ones.
