DH left me at home with no snacks

30 weeks pregnant. DD asleep.
DH gone to friends house for drinks. Which is fine but I asked him to get me pudding and a drink from the shop at the end of the road before he left. He left and forgot to get it even though I said it as he was saying bye. AIBU to be majorly pissed off and grumpy.
He's at friends now and won't be back before I'm in bed.
I wanted something nice to drink and some chocolate!! Sad

Not unreasonable at all! He is out drinking and socialising whys it too much to ask you bring you a little treat while you look after his daughter!

No deliveroo in your area?

ginyogarepeat · 09/08/2019 21:29

Ah neverender, lighten up. She's heavily pregnant, child in bed, she asked him to get her snacks before he headed out to enjoy himself. He couldn't be arsed. I'd be disappointed too! Hardly the end of the world mind, but where's the rule that MN threads only have to be about deadly serious situations?!

Socksontheradiator · 09/08/2019 21:31

@howdidido when I was pregnant I had a desperate urge for chocolate so I ate all the sweets in my other children's advent calendars. That was expensive as I had to go out and get 3 more!

I’d be annoyed too. My husband “forgets” things 10 seconds after I’ve asked him and it gets right on my wick. Wouldn’t “forget” things for himself I bet.

YoTheGinPussyOnThigh · 09/08/2019 21:35

OP, have you got sugar and bicarbonate of soda? Cinder toffee. Eat it in bed as well and make sure there are plenty of sticky crumbs your DH’s side of the bed.

Howdidido · 09/08/2019 21:35

I knew we should have never left London 10 years ago! Sainsburys chop chop? Ocado zoom?! Look at what we gave up!!
I am looking into other delivery options because I am too lazy to get off my arse and see what I could make... also. No cocoa. I have chocolate strongly on my mind now
On the plus side I am less annoyed and more determined to get something now! Even if it takes ages to deliver and turns up Just before DH does with what I'm assuming will be a massive bag of petrol station late night goodies. I'll be out snoring but I'm pretty sure it will happen now that he knows I am pregnant annoyed...

OMG there are some right mardy arses on here. @Howdidido YADNBU. When you want chocolate nothing else will do. I second ordering cookies/brownies/basically a shitload of desserts from Dominos.

tabbycat985 · 09/08/2019 21:37

I know it's a long shot OP but when I was desperate, I found some choc chips hiding in the baking cupboardBlush

Disfordarkchocolate · 09/08/2019 21:38

All of leave delivery options I have either never heard of or don't deliver to where I live. Wondering why we moved here too @Howdidido

TheBigFatMermaid · 09/08/2019 21:39

How about a microwave mug cake? It has got me out of a 'I must have bad food now' craving a few times!

leghairdontcare · 09/08/2019 21:39

Have you looked in the freezer? Maybe a magnum or similar may be hidden in the back.

IamaBluebird · 09/08/2019 21:39

Dominos icecream and warm cookies. Netflix and a spoon Smile

Bourbonbiccy · 09/08/2019 21:39

Ring a taxi, they will stop and grab you exactly what you want for a fee.

Yep, there is nothing better than a choccy binge when home alone, damn you hubby!!!

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 09/08/2019 21:39

YANBU.

When you need pudding you need pudding.

When is he back? Can he bring you something on the way back?

GrouchyKiwi · 09/08/2019 21:40

I'm not pregnant and I'd be right shirty if DH left me without snacks and a sleeping child in the house!

Microwave mug cake? Chocolate chips in the baking supplies? Toast with butter and brown sugar?

BMW6 · 09/08/2019 21:43

Have you got any cake decorations (chocolate sprinkles?) that you can use?

GlendaSugarbeanIsJudgingYou · 09/08/2019 21:43

When I was pregnant DH worked beside a place that sold wonderful blueberry muffins so he would always bring me one home in the evening.

One night he forgot and I actually cried. DH was horrified and felt terrible. Then I couldn't stop laughing at myself crying over a muffin and his devastated reaction.

I was also going to suggest the freezer. There is always a stray cornetto hiding in ours.

Heartburn888 · 09/08/2019 21:44

Nope not unreasonable especially after you ask him just before he left the house!

Oblahdeeoblahdoe · 09/08/2019 21:46

No lone choc ice at the bottom of the freezer?

Failing that ring local taxi firm and give them a list!!

NoSauce · 09/08/2019 21:46

Cooking chocolate? Grin
Cornflakes and sugar?

TheSheepofWallSt · 09/08/2019 21:47

Order a pizza from one of the chains, like Papa Johns or Pizza Hut, with desert.

Your DH will appreciate the pizza when he gets home, and you’ll have had desert.

ScruffGin · 09/08/2019 21:47

Wow there's some shirty people on here tonight...

YANBU, he went out having fun and left you snackless, whilst pregnant. That is unforgivable.

Options:

  • miracle delivery service (none of those things exist where I am, there's not even a take away that will deliver)
  • mug cake, BBC good food has recipes, but you need the ingredients
  • neighbour? Even if it's only cocoa powder, then you can make chocolate mug cake Grin
  • last resort, ask a taxi to get what you want and deliver it
  • in future you need emergency supplies in at home!
Benjispruce · 09/08/2019 21:47

Jar of Nutella and a spoon?

Howdidido · 09/08/2019 21:50

No I am sure there is nothing hiding anywhere. I have a sixth sense for these things. I went on a hunt in case and found a very nice peach... Which did absolutely nothing for my sugar craving!
However- great news! I found a milkshake place that will deliver! I have an extra large chocolate and pistachio ice cream milkshake on its way... 40mins away but I will appreciate it even more when it gets here!
Thank you for encouraging me to persevere. I never would have got through it without you!
