My family are well catered for and want for nothing. If I have something particularly delicious I tend to squirrel it away and eat it in secret.
Am I a monster?

SmallPinkBear · 06/08/2019 18:36

I definitely do not have 3 bars of green and blacks behind the soft fruit

GibbonLover · 06/08/2019 18:38

Are you on a tight budget? If not, then I can’t understand why you’d do this

Completely missing the point. Any snack-type things I buy, be they chocolate bars or crisps, will be consumed by my greedy bugger of a DH in a day or so. So I buy some 'public' stuff and then a bar of something else for my own personal consumption. I don't fancy chocolate every day but when I do feel like some, you can bet your bottom dollar that the lot will have been scoffed.

Perhaps my DH has his own personal stash too? Who knows? I wouldn't be pissed off if he did, that's for sure.

GibbonLover · 06/08/2019 18:41

RezCowgirl That username takes me back!

simonisnotme · 06/08/2019 18:41

there is not a pack of fruit pastilles or 2 packs of fig biscuits in the camping stuff - to stop DH eating them before we go away

Lipz · 06/08/2019 18:42

I don't put the Ben and Jerry's inside the waffle box and leave the cheapo icecream on view for everyone to see.

MzHz · 06/08/2019 18:44

I would never EVER hide Eccles cakes in the bucket in the corner utility room cupboard. Nosiree.

catsmother · 06/08/2019 18:45

Who'd have thought that the ginormous dusty stockpot which is taken down from the top of the kitchen cupboard once in a blue moon sometimes gives up delights like chocolate coated ginger cookies, bags of Revels or Hotel Chocolat goodies? I have no idea how this happens ....

GlamGiraffe · 06/08/2019 18:46

I don't know how nice chocs and biscuits ever got in the sideboard with the best Wedgwood dining set or chocolate bars got beneath the lining paper in my underwear drawer?? A real mystery 🤷‍♀️🤔

I've noticed a stash of chocolate in the living room cabinet apparently belonging to DH but frequently raided by DS. Looks like some people will never learn😂

perpetuallyperplexedbylife · 06/08/2019 18:47

Not at all!

pontiouspilates · 06/08/2019 18:48

What chocolate in with the cleaning products? Outrageous behaviour.

Petitprince · 06/08/2019 18:53

I definitely wouldn't hide the empty packets of my crisps and chocolates inside healthy food packets before I put them in the bin so I don't ever get found out.

HoofWankingSpangleCunt · 06/08/2019 18:53

There isn't a decoy second wastepaper basket in my room with scrunched up paper hiding a family sized toblerone.

That would be ingenious selfish.

BarbaraofSeville · 06/08/2019 18:57

I don’t keep the chocs I get for Christmas in the bottom of my wardrobe behind the shoes I rarely wear.

Has anyone ever forgotten about their stash and found it when they weren't expecting anything to be there, or worse, forgotten about it for so long that things go stale?

Scardanelli · 06/08/2019 18:58

My DC (all older teenagers) are absolute angels and would never ever help themselves to anything that is clearly not intended for them. So there is no need to hide Boots No7 Expensive Moisturiser for Middle Aged Women in the coal scuttle, pre-mixed Negroni in a battered old suitcase, or treasured cheese puffs in the longcase clock.

Boulezvous · 06/08/2019 19:04

I would never hide the bottle of wine behind the salad stuff or the midget gems in the teapot.

justthecat · 06/08/2019 19:07

Funny thing is, I thought it was just me that did this! 😏

BillywigSting · 06/08/2019 19:11

Another one chiming in to say that I would absolutely never hide the Scottish all butter shortbread in the suitcase in the spare room.

Nor would I polish off the box of brownies and replace them so nobody noticed.

I also wouldn't prposely buy alcohol dp doesn't like so I don't have to share it

And I most certainly know nothing about the posh chocolate at the back of my underwear drawer.

Mamalicious16 · 06/08/2019 19:12

There are DEFINITELY NOT any crisps or snacks in a carrier in the carrier bag cupboard. There is also no chocolate in my underwear drawer so don't bother looking in there and wasting your time.

londonloves · 06/08/2019 19:14

I definitely didn't eat a Cadbury's brunch bar in the bathroom today so my toddler couldn't see. And I definitely haven't hidden the mini cheddars.

Mummabear2212 · 06/08/2019 19:15

There absolutely isn't chocolate and fruit pastilles hidden behind the self raising flour in the baking cupboard. Not in this house.

Iamthewombat · 06/08/2019 19:19

So many ideas! Inspiring.

I have been relying on a tin with ‘keep out’ sellotaped to it, but nothing puts off my gannet DH. I see that I am an amateur.

It’s like logs into a sawmill, I tell ya. And he works from home, so when I come in and think, I could fancy a bit of that orange Bournville I bought two days ago, there is one derisory square left or it’s vanished as if it never existed. His response: he would have left me some, but he can’t remember how much of it he’s had and for all he knows I might have already eaten half of it. Remotely, from an office fifteen miles away.

The knicker drawer plan is genius.

MaidofKent78 · 06/08/2019 19:23

There is no naice chocolate hidden in my tack box at the stables. Nor a bar in my saddlebags

Iamthewombat · 06/08/2019 19:33

Doesn’t it taste of horse?

Indicative · 06/08/2019 19:38

I definitely don't hide treats in.the cereal box that everyone else in the family hates

Louise190 · 06/08/2019 19:52

I don't keep a stash in both of my work bags, not at all 👀

Secret food doesn't have any calories, either, did you know? 🤥

Imagine if the newspapers got hold of this thread, published it all and all the DP/DH/DC started putting two and two together and discovered all the secret stashes in their homes! 😱😂
