My family are well catered for and want for nothing. If I have something particularly delicious I tend to squirrel it away and eat it in secret.
Am I a monster?

I would not be hiding naice chocolate in in my drawer at work...

BarbaraofSeville · 06/08/2019 16:25

I'd never consider hiding crisps in the boot of my car, and chocolate in the baking cupboard.

HaileySherman · 06/08/2019 16:25

Lol this thread is great.

Cheeseandwin5 · 06/08/2019 16:25

If I didn't hide certain treats to have with a nice cup of tea at the end of the day, my DC would have them. As it is my poor DH only finds out about them when he is emptying the bins and sees the wrappers.!

Zaphodsotherhead · 06/08/2019 16:33

I have a packet of biscuits concealed in the very back of the baking cupboard and I live alone...

Sexnotgender · 06/08/2019 16:38

Who are you hiding them from ZaphodGrin

OP posts:
justthecat · 06/08/2019 16:48

Yes you need to be careful when you put wrappers in the bin, they need pushing to the bottom

holidayhappy · 06/08/2019 16:57

I would never put M&Ms or pretzels in a coffee jar at the back of a high cupboard 😇

BlackeyedGruesome · 06/08/2019 16:57

Anything not hidden gets scavenged by ds.

flirtygirl · 06/08/2019 16:59

My dds eat anything not hidden so I hide everything then they magically appear even when I haven't been shopping. My oldest still thinks I have magic powers.

2018SoFarSoGreat · 06/08/2019 16:59

Of course anything delicious I push all way to the back of the top shelf of the tallest cabinet. That I can't reach, even when standing on the small kitchen stool. That may not be my smartest decision. Who knows what's up there? Shall have to have a small child stand on a tall person's shoulders to excavate the contents.

CorianderDestroysFamilies · 06/08/2019 17:01

I have never hidden anything from my family, I definitely don’t have a decoy not great hiding place with semi okay chocolate to throw them off the scent of my better hiding place with the really good stuff.

CatInADoghouse · 06/08/2019 17:06

You're all monsters!!
There's no way I would hide a large supply of sweets, chocolate, biscuits and cake in a carrier bag at the back of an old cupboard!

user1474894224 · 06/08/2019 17:08

I love this thread. I would never buy two tubs of ice cream.. a cheap one and an expensive delicious one to ease my guilt when the naice one is eaten one night...and yes the tub is pushed to the bottom of the bin.

yesthatstheone · 06/08/2019 17:08

I did NOT put a tube of Maryland cookies in my knicker drawer.

Zaphodsotherhead · 06/08/2019 17:08

Sexnotgender - they are my 'emergency biscuits. As long as I know they are somewhere in the house, then I won't want them. As soon as they are gone I will not be able to rest until I have more.

Sort of security biscuits, if you will.

However, if I can see them, I will eat them. So I hide them from myself.

Picklypickles · 06/08/2019 17:10

Its my oh who hides the good stuff, he just puts it on top our cupboards cos I'm a short arse :-( I just stick to buying treats he doesn't like, anything with dark chocolate or coconut or lemon. I used to be able to keep the kids off my stuff by telling them it was mushroom cake or celerey ice cream but they aren't falling for it anymore and they both like lemon and one of them likes coconut.

Notthetoothfairy · 06/08/2019 17:13

I would also never behave like that, so selfish. It’s pure coincidence that the most expensive chocolates in my house are in a different cupboard (and room) to the cheap stuff and/or in my bedside table...

Mia184 · 06/08/2019 17:14

I like to hide chocolate behind the cooking books on the shelf.

shrek1978 · 06/08/2019 17:15

I would never hide my secret stash in the cleaning cupboard, oh no.

Iilana · 06/08/2019 17:15

Yabvu I would never hide the expensive dark chocolate in the writing bureau under bills from DH with decoy cheap stuff behind the baking stuff in the kitchen. (That he thinks is the real stash).

Tweedypie · 06/08/2019 17:16

I certainly don't have a large bag of peanut butter M&M's (smuggled over by my sister from Canada) hiding inside an ugly terracotta vase on top of the kitchen cupboard.

Bunnylady53 · 06/08/2019 17:17

Great thread! DD is a demon for finding my secret stashes so I need to hide much more effectively! Definitely need to move upstairs. Actually I have a couple of handbags hanging on the kitchen chair & have been known to hide 4 packs of double deckers or a giant Snickers bar in one of those. So far it hasn’t occurred to DD to look in there!

VictoriaBun · 06/08/2019 17:17

I have never gone ' shopping' and sat in the car with a magazine and ate a cream cake and chocolate/ sweets for a half hour or so me time.

Jayaywhynot · 06/08/2019 17:18

I'd never hide my lindt chocolates in my knicker drawer to eat in the bath, that would be selfish Smile
