To think no couple goes to bed at the same time?

Watching a programme tonight with DH and saw another example of a couple lying in bed at night having a conversation after clearly retiring at the same time. Mentioned to DH that we never ever go to bed at the same time (I'm an early to bed early to rise person and he's the opposite). DH said that no couple does - it's just a plot device to facilitate dialogue. I think I agree and couples who go to bed at same time don't exist. Anyone out there (past honeymoon stage) who does?

I don’t live with my DP but we spend 50% of our nights together. Been with him 7 years and we always go up to bed together and always DTD

With XH and I, that was the beginning of the end. I’d stay up late watching TV instead of going up when he did, so he’d be asleep when I got up there, hence our sex life died (or cause/effect possibly reversed - I didn’t go up because our sex life died? Either way, it was a definite shift for us in terms of intimacy).

We do, most nights. Dh is an owl, im a lark too. He sometimes watches the telly or reads whilst I snooze. In all honesty, the only way Im going to be awake enough to dtd is if he comes to bed at 'my' time so he doesn't mind.

We do .. been together 4 years ..

Crummyfunnymummy · 08/08/2019 18:39

Never!

I guarantee if you started a thread saying omg it's so weird when couples go to bed at different times, we never do this! You'd get twenty pages of people saying we always go to bed separately.

Jaxhog · 08/08/2019 18:48

We almost always have. Still, after 42 years of marriage, we're practically the same person!

Boshmama · 08/08/2019 19:03

Of course we do! Find it strange people wouldn't

TinyMystery · 08/08/2019 19:06

We go to bed together every night. Usually at about 9.30 as we’re early risers! We don’t always get up at the same time though. DH often has to leave for work at about 4.30. I can afford a more leisurely 6am lie in 😂

SciFiScream · 08/08/2019 19:32

I'd say we go to bed at the same time 90% of the time. The other 10% is because I've gone to bed early. DH never goes to bed early! If he goes to bed and I wasn't about to, I'll generally go to bed with him.

On fresh bed-linen days I rush to get into bed first...even if it's just for 5 minutes!

Sweetpea55 · 09/08/2019 06:45

You and your DH are wrong. We go to bed at the same time. Lie and gave a chat.. Have a bit of choc maybe watch a film.
I don't see well so perhaps I will get up after a couple of hours sleep, then go back to bed later

flyingspaghettimonster · 09/08/2019 07:05

We've been together 18 years and still.always go to bed together. Sometimes these days I stay reading a bit later or like now, looking at my phone. Because he has to be up early, but I don't, so I don't get as tired as he does.

I can't imagine our relationship without going to bed together. We talk and snuggle and usually watch a show before lights out.

TerracottaLeggy · 09/08/2019 07:08

Same time.... late... despite our resolutions. We're a bad influence on each other.
