If you could go anywhere for a week as a couple where would you go...

This isn't really a hypothetical question, I am starting a new job and have some time of in between but in term time....a family member can look after my children for a week and I have a reasonable budget to pay for this.

Where would you go...

Santorini - it looks pretty - but not the touristy side, the other side.
Or Sardinia, but thats horrendously expensive.

Depends on what you are looking for? City break?? Beach??

GimmieTheCoffeeAndNooneDies · 01/08/2019 15:21

Japan, I really fancy a holiday in Japan.

CensorshipHereIsAJoke · 01/08/2019 15:22

Cuba
Cape Verde
Boracay

Depends on what sort of holiday you like. A free week for us would usually mean camping somewhere quiet and nice (Scotland/France) or a bit more interesting (Iceland/Norway) but for some would be a villa/pool holiday in the sun.

I personally would take the opportunity to have a relaxing week somewhere reasonably interesting, rather than a jam packed city (or two) holiday.

Enjoy your break!! Grin

Seychelles or failing that, the Maldives

Sparadrap · 01/08/2019 15:23

Kefalonia

Or maybe Iceland but you’d have to check the best time to go.

timeforakinderworld · 01/08/2019 15:24

I would do a city break and then trekking in the countryside e.g. Venice then mountains.

TheGlitterFairy · 01/08/2019 15:25

Indian Ocean or Caribbean in November - perfect for a week.

rainonthewindow · 01/08/2019 15:26

Japan Japan Japan

CatSmize · 01/08/2019 15:26

All inclusive, adults-only resort in the Caribbean - bliss!

Sparadrap · 01/08/2019 15:27

Sorry x-posted Kefalonia is a no in November.

Anywhere in the Indian Ocean is good in November.

graziemille567 · 01/08/2019 15:28

A week in Tuscany eating delicious food, touring vineyards and generally lazing around. Heaven!

EskewedBeef · 01/08/2019 15:28

Lovely as they are, some of these places are too far to go for a week. Hawaii is 11 hours behind us.

I'd go for a Balearic island for a restful week somewhere reasonably quick to get to.

Goldenphoenix · 01/08/2019 15:28

Sri Lanka for sure. Beautiful place with so many world heritage sites!

NCforthis2019 · 01/08/2019 15:29

mexico - tulum.

Selfcarequeereyestyle · 01/08/2019 15:29

We did the Maldives for 8 days and it was fab. I highly recommend it (and was expecting to be bored) and wish we could afford to go again!

EskewedBeef · 01/08/2019 15:29

November might be a Canary island rather than Balearic, actually.

Happyspud · 01/08/2019 15:30

A week is too short for Japan.

IdaBattersea · 01/08/2019 15:32

Is India Ocean doable for a week...looks like it takes about 13-14 hours to get there but isn't huge time difference and they are ahead which works quite well...

Sri Lanka. It's wonderful. My dh and I used to live in South Asia (not Sri Lanka) and we used to holiday there a lot. I often dream of going back, but we don't have the childcare help and littles are still too little to make that an easy family trip.
