This isn't really a hypothetical question, I am starting a new job and have some time of in between but in term time....a family member can look after my children for a week and I have a reasonable budget to pay for this.

Where would you go...

Some of my wish list are:-
Santorini
Bora Bora
Turks and Caicos
The Maldives
Cape Verde
The Azores

Depends how much you want to spend.

We have been to Réunion Island in the Indian Ocean... flights daily from Paris, (11 hours but it's only 3 hours time difference). It's a french island so use the Euro and you can use your mobile there!

It's my favourite place on earth. It is magical and beautiful and awe inspiring. It has everything, I'm desperate to go back.

If you only have seven days then too far long haul isn't really viable.

No where in Europe is going to be warm enough - unless you fancy the Canaries. But there are some grim bits there.

I'd think about South Africa. Its a reasonable flight- and no time difference so no jet lag. Plus it will be their spring so spectacularly beautiful. In a week you can easily see Cape town , a bit of the Garden route and Wine areas and spend time on the beaches.

Sri Lanka for sure. Love, love, love it.

FookMeFookYou · 01/08/2019 15:46

One of the Greek islands. Love Greece so much 💕 if I had longer 2-3 weeks it would be riviera maya

Roussette · 01/08/2019 15:51

But surely Europe will be chilly in November??

scaryteacher · 01/08/2019 15:52

Vienna for great cake and coffee and the best cinnamon buns ever.

Copenhagen for the great antique shopping.

Harrogate as I've never been and want to go to Betty's.

Bath for the Roman Baths, the history etc.

London for shopping, Fortnums, art galleries , museums (and Jermyn Street).

icanhearapindrop · 01/08/2019 15:54

The Maldives, 100%! Amazing rest and relaxation, and very few children (where we went anyway). Oh, those were the days...

Disfordarkchocolate · 01/08/2019 15:57

Copenhagen

SadieContrary · 01/08/2019 15:58

As you only have a week, I'd rule out Japan as it's too far and suggest Lake Como. Had a fabulous holiday at each with my DH and would love to go back to both

BloodyhellMartha · 01/08/2019 15:59

Bermuda. Beautiful and weather will still be fabulous in November. 7.5 hour flight. Pink coral beaches...sigh.

DameXanaduBramble · 01/08/2019 16:00

Always Italy.

TheFairyCaravan · 01/08/2019 16:00

As you've only got a week I'd go to La Palma. I love it, especially just star gazing at night

superram · 01/08/2019 16:01

Foreign office advice is not to go to Sri Lanka currently.

Bobbybobbins · 01/08/2019 16:01

Japan

fraxion · 01/08/2019 16:02

If it's only a week I definitely wouldn't do long haul, it's not long enough. If it was me I'd go to Greece.

Ijumpedtheshark · 01/08/2019 16:04

Vegas

fraxion · 01/08/2019 16:04

That was lifted weeks ago. Sri Lanka is fabulous but a week isn't long enough.

msmith501 · 01/08/2019 16:06

Seychelles. Been eleven times in 15 years and it never disappoints. As soon as I walk into the arrivals lounge and get heated with cold papaya juice and a cool flannel, I know I've arrived home. Great people, wonderful food, scenery and walks to die for, lovely culture etc

Vesperia · 01/08/2019 16:07

Vegas & we'd get married this time

shesellsseashell · 01/08/2019 16:09

Barcelona has everything

Roussette · 01/08/2019 16:37

Barcelona in November is between 12 and 18 and Greece not much different...

edwinbear · 01/08/2019 16:39

Maldives or Mauritius

PenCreed · 01/08/2019 16:46

We spent ten days in Morocco in November for our honeymoon. Plenty to see/do, and it was high 20s or low 30s the whole time. Plus the flights weren’t too long!
