If you could go anywhere for a week as a couple where would you go...

This isn't really a hypothetical question, I am starting a new job and have some time of in between but in term time....a family member can look after my children for a week and I have a reasonable budget to pay for this.

Where would you go...

I travel a lot for work and I loved this place. Over night flight so it doesn't matter it's 11h.

Bliss

CoolcoolcoolcoolcoolNoDoubt · 01/08/2019 16:51

Or maybe Iceland but you’d have to check the best time to go.

Iceland will be great in November but not very beach-y Grin

HotChocolateLover · 01/08/2019 16:51

Iceland. We went last year, it was fab and a week would be a perfect amount of time.

GoodwithRocksandGems · 01/08/2019 16:52

Greece. A mix of historical sites (without bored dc) and beach.

user586837 · 01/08/2019 16:54

Was going to say we had a lovely week doing Athens and Santorini. But just seen your going in November so it wouldn't be very warm if that's the kind of thing your looking for.
For November if you want nice weather you need to travel abit further

Sexnotgender · 01/08/2019 16:55

Cape Town.

user586837 · 01/08/2019 16:56

Sorry posted too soon. We loved The Seychelles. But it might feel too quick for a week.
Perhaps somewhere on the Caribbean? Barbados's is an 8 hour direct flight.

anyoneneedabodygaurd · 01/08/2019 16:57

Mauritius

justasking111 · 01/08/2019 16:58

We are looking at Sicily historically fascinating and the food looks so varied and tasty.

Knackeredmommy · 01/08/2019 16:58

Cancun/Caribbean. Rainy season is over and guarded sunshine. Lots of all inclusives and direct flights.

Knackeredmommy · 01/08/2019 16:59

*Guaranteed

burblife · 01/08/2019 16:59

Couples resort, Negril, Jamaica

Or

Ortigia, near Siracusa, Sicily

GoodwithRocksandGems · 01/08/2019 17:00

Sorry just seen it’s November. Rio de Janeiro?

Saharasunset · 01/08/2019 17:01

The Maldives in November was amazing when we went - would go back in a heartbeat

St Lucia? Cape Verde? Antigua? Bahamas?

citychick · 01/08/2019 17:09

Siem Reap, Cambodia.
Such a lovely place. And Angkor Watt and Angkor Thom are close by.
So cool. 👍

Cyberworrier · 01/08/2019 17:11

I second St Lucia. Caribbean a shorter flight than some of the other long haul options. Look for hotels/Airbnb’s on the quieter and beautiful west coast, around Soufriere and the Pitons. Definitely manageable in a week.

timeforawine · 01/08/2019 17:16

Back to the Seychelles, stunning

fraxion · 01/08/2019 17:51

Siem Reap, Cambodia.

I'm off there in January, cannot wait!

usernamerisnotavailable · 01/08/2019 17:52

Antigua. SA too far for a week and November not guaranteed to be warm.

vitaminC · 01/08/2019 17:54

Snorkeling with the dolphins in the Red Sea, in Eilat.
November is the perfect time of year weather-wise!

origamiunicorn · 01/08/2019 17:57

New York 🥰

Youngandfree · 01/08/2019 18:09

Places I would recommend

Vienna
New York
Barbados (but imo I think 10 days here would be better)
Capri
Italian Lake District Lake Garda/lake Maggiore.
Florence
Venice
Santorini
Cape cod USA

troppibambini · 01/08/2019 18:24

Barbados. I love it there.

madeyemoodysmum · 01/08/2019 18:31

Italy. Hire a car. Nice villa with pool. Eat loads. Drink wine. Bliss

SummerRays · 01/08/2019 18:32

Philippines! Not expensive once you're there are stunning white beaches especially some of the islands there!
