This is lighthearted but seen lots of threads today about leaving kids alone etc.

Today after a trip out and being exhausted I let my toddler watch TV for about 3 hours!
Whilst my teen had lots of screen time.

I. Also needed some bits at shop and dd was in just a nappy and cba to dress her. So I let my teen (13) sit with her with her whist I ran over.. The shop is in sight..

Im getting take away for the 2nd night in a row.
Both kids have had a fair amount of junk.. Crisps. Cheddars. Cake 2 ice creams and ice lolly.

And I've used my washing machine for such small loads. And re washed the bedding that was washed Tuesday. Because wanted to get as much as I can done and dried before the weekend and dp being off next week to have family time..
And when it cools down I'm going to iron it all lol.

We have been to a paddli g pool 1st thing and local park this eve.

Fell asleep at 4.30 and only woke up at midnight. Still in t shirt from day and pants. Went downstairs and had a cigarette and 3 glasses of pepsi max. Now lying on the bed playing fishdom and browsing MN.

My husband worked from 6:30am til 4pm yesterday then went back to work from 8pm til midnight as he is trying to play catch up at work at the moment (lots of big orders etc), I have had lots of trouble sleeping lately due to some things that are happening in our lives, he had to be back at work at 6:30 this morning, when his alarm went off at 5:30 he slept through it and I got very mad as his alarm woke our two year old and I had only got to sleep round 3am.... I wouldn't call it yelling but definitely raised my voice at the poor bugger.

I think that me be cause for a 'what an abusive partner you have....you should LTB (leave the bitch)' if he posted a thread about it haha

DontTalkBloodyDaft · 26/07/2019 01:56

Watched my neighbour throw a bag of her dogs shit over the fence into my garden.
So I posted it through her letter box, minus the bag after smearing some on the inside of her front door handle.
The fucking skanky bitch.

If we all lived in actual hot countries would we be doing these things all the time? Driving with our skirts over the steering wheel, and sitting around at home with our boobs out?

Yes, yes, and maybe.
Plus all the screen time, and letting kids drink paddling pool water or straight from the hose. And lots of microwaved hot dogs for 'dinner' followed by something frozen and full of artificial colours and flavours from the freezer..

Today I passed judgemental comments to myself when I saw a woman being arrested for having an open bottle of Hennessy while driving, with about two inches of whisky in the bottle.

tinyvulture · 26/07/2019 03:29

I smoked a fag out of the spare bedroom window earlier. I feel guilty, but it was wonderful...... Then I lied to DD when she said she could smell it on my hair. (She thinks I have quit. Which I have. Largely.......)

managedmis · 26/07/2019 03:32

Everyone's eating magnums

YorkshireIndie · 26/07/2019 05:39

I took the dog for his evening walk at 10pm dressed only in my nightdress and a coat. I am 28wks pregnant and it was bliss to finally be cool. We live in the countryside and chances of meeting anyone at that hour zero

Jenasaurus · 26/07/2019 05:50

Had cereal and sticky toffee pudding for dinner (family size one all to myself straight from the tray).

Teacher22 · 26/07/2019 05:55

What a glorious thread. Mumsnetters are awesome. What I will take away from it is the joy I will feel knowing that when the next Chicken Licken ‘we are all going to die,’ climate change ‘emergency’ thread comes up, half the population ran the tumble dryer rather than put the washing on the line on the best drying day ever.

I suspected no one actually gave a toss and that the fuss was just collective virtue signalling and mass hysteria. Now I know. Phew! Bring on the Magnums.

marblesgoing · 26/07/2019 06:31

Had a lovey lie in yesterday morning before finally going out at about 1pm for food for tea for 6 people.
Cheated and bought ready done roast potatoes but made my own lasagne.

Went to a local garden centre as they have a cafe with air con and cheap coffee and cake Grin

Hung out two loads of washing which dried in twenty minutes (I probably would have stuck it in the tumble dryer aswel but it's still not fixed)
Went for a lovely cool dog walk when temp dropped in the evening.

Was in bed early just chilling but means I've been awake since 5am Hmm

Currently sat in garden under gazebo in pants and vest smoking and drinking coffee and enjoying the peace before everyone starts stirring and all hell breaks loose again

@PriestessModwena
I did something I'm quite proud of, I got the courage to not be scared of telling the truth. I won't minimise anything, I don't even know why I spent so long protecting that person.

They've not shown the same courtesy to me.

This has been 12 years in the making.
Go you Priestess!

Treaclepie19 · 26/07/2019 07:28

Our tumble dryer is broken so I actually didn't use it. Don't think I could have anyway, way too hot. I didn't go outside either. Just hung the washing up on hangers around the house and it dried quickly.
Most of my days are un-mumsnetty so not much point me commenting 😂

fairybeagle · 26/07/2019 07:34

Lay about the house all day in DH underwear and no top. DS (1) spent day in a nappy in and out the garden. But watched approx 4 hours of tv in the morning 😬
DS has two custard creams and spaghetti with ketchup and cheese for dinner (as did I).
Hung washing out on line as I'm not insane enough to use a tumble dryer on hottest day of the year!

BetterEatCheese · 26/07/2019 07:36

Used the tumble drier
Cleaned my toilet using a loo brush

PookieDo · 26/07/2019 07:41

Let the dog sleep in my bed next to my face

Haven’t changed the sheets for 2 weeks as new ones will just get sweaty

HotChocolateLover · 26/07/2019 07:59

🤔 Ate two twister ice lollies, watched the Hangover in the dark and had fans on all day even when I wasn’t in the room. Mine are a bit boring compared to others but I really want a Magnum now, so glad it’s payday today and we’re going shopping. I’ve been off sick the last two weeks and have to admit that I picked the best ever two weeks to be off sick. The doctor said I could have next week off to if I want and i’m Seriously considering it, might check the weather first though.

golddustwomen · 26/07/2019 08:04

Yesterday we watched tv all day. ALL DAY. Me, dd5 and ds2
Ds2 ran around either naked or in a nappy
I let them have juice all day, which I do every day to be honest!
Also as many tip tops as they wanted
Both of them were too hot to eat their chicken wraps so I let them have fruit and crisps
Was narky with oh all evening because I was so fucking hot

CatsCatsCats11 · 26/07/2019 08:07

Been to soft play almost everyday this week in this weather, we've had it to ourselves and it's lovely and airconned.

Leighhalfpennysthigh · 26/07/2019 08:35

My neither, who's staying with me for a few days has just got up (yep, totally unreasonable for a 15 year old) and announced he's buying us all a KFC tonight.

Littlecaf · 26/07/2019 08:45

I was at work in a public facing role with no air con. We shit the shop, nipped to Argos for a fan then Tescos for ice lollies and when we reopened sat there with our feet up, fan on, sucking twister lollies - got some funny looks from the public walking past! (I work in Local Govt so it looked really unprofessional!)

YoTheGinPussy · 26/07/2019 08:52

I traveled on a train yesterday, heinous sin as people were asked not to travel. It was necessary however. My first train was cancelled so next very crowded. Gentle MNers I did not give up my hard fought for seat to anyone. And that included elderly people and small children. Tough titty I am afraid, too hot and too knackered to be polite.

Pgjp129 · 26/07/2019 08:53

Sat in the house in my pants and vest top and no bra with the blinds closed letting dd have too much screen time, watched most of the first season of friends, drew pictures with dd, had 2 showers and moaned about the heat. Went to next room pick up our sale bargains of winter coats Confused. OH came home from a 9 hour shift in a foundry with what I presume is heat exhaustion. Ate 3 pieces of bread and butter then pesto pasta for tea.

So far this morning, I have let dd have screen time whilst I was lazy and couldn't be arsed to get up. Now enjoying a cuppa before we get ready to go out.

Skyejuly · 26/07/2019 08:55

Not cooked for 2 days....sat in pants....let kids just rat constant lollies

Skyejuly · 26/07/2019 08:55

Eat
