This is lighthearted but seen lots of threads today about leaving kids alone etc.

Today after a trip out and being exhausted I let my toddler watch TV for about 3 hours!
Whilst my teen had lots of screen time.

I. Also needed some bits at shop and dd was in just a nappy and cba to dress her. So I let my teen (13) sit with her with her whist I ran over.. The shop is in sight..

Im getting take away for the 2nd night in a row.
Both kids have had a fair amount of junk.. Crisps. Cheddars. Cake 2 ice creams and ice lolly.

And I've used my washing machine for such small loads. And re washed the bedding that was washed Tuesday. Because wanted to get as much as I can done and dried before the weekend and dp being off next week to have family time..
And when it cools down I'm going to iron it all lol.

We have been to a paddli g pool 1st thing and local park this eve.

We went to a lido. I sat under a parasol and let the 4 children I was with swim (they are all young but capable) without me next to them unless was too hot and wanted to join them. When I cooled off, I left them to it and returned to my sun lounger.

Vivavivienne · 25/07/2019 22:53

I did some mowing at 6.30am this morning, but since my neighbor started his strummer at 6.10 am I think it’s fine....

I let the dogs and theDC share the same paddling pool.

Wow wasn't expecting so many responses. We're all bad humans lmao.

mealtimes out the window.
lost it over something teeeny tiny and looked rather bloody crazed.
eaten as many ice creams as you like
sat in various states of dress.
uncovered myself in bed so the monsters could have found me was probably the worst!im still alive but worried about tonight...

jellyjellyinmybelly · 25/07/2019 22:59

You know you don't need a tumble dryer OR to go outside to dry your laundry. Just spread out the clothes on the floor of your room and it'll be dry in a couple of hours. Simples!

FastnetLundyRockall · 25/07/2019 23:01

Ate a packet of Skips for breakfast. It was a grab bag too.

SecretWitch · 25/07/2019 23:01

I wore my thinnest, butter soft leggings. Ran many errands, took my 11 yr old shopping. We got home and she said “ You know your leggings are see through, right?” I spent the day lifting, stretching and bending over.

Ordered out for dinner ( who can cook on days like this) Let dd drink all the sugary juice she wanted.

NellieBee · 25/07/2019 23:03

This is the best thread! Finally I can feel part of mumsnet!

*we ate an entire box of ice poles today

*mcdonalds for breakfast purely because of the air conditioning

*ate pizza in Asda restaurant for lunch, purely because of the air conditioning

*took DC swimming and their friends, didn't get in the pool with them, watched from the air conditioned balcony... they're all 8/9

*DC just gone to bed now. After we danced in the rain then had a family water fight. LUSH

Stayed home in pants watching telly until (horror of horrors) the doorbell went at 11:55....a friend and her kid showed up! Frantic rushing about to get clothes on, very aware i'd not brushed teeth and she stayed for a whole hour Sad. I usually love friends popping in but today was a commando day and not a hosting people in my slovenly home which is too hot to tidy day.

Watched Queer Eye, commented on some MN, went to the shops in the car for the air con, ice cream and wine, made a crumble with dd and put sprinkler on about 30mins before the rain came. Have been lounging in pants alone ever since. House is still 31 degrees Sad

Have another kid over tomorrow morning - hope it isn't as hot!

escapade1234 · 25/07/2019 23:04

Ate an entire box of Fab ice lollies for dinner.

To clarify, that’s 6 lollies.

Mykingdomforanickname · 25/07/2019 23:04

Went to the cashpoint in case teenage DC ask me for cash over the weekend - in gross breach of Mumsnet law which stipulates that all teenage children must be completely financially independent of their parents.

Cocolapew · 25/07/2019 23:05

Went out with DD then she bought me a sausage super with curry sauce for lunch. Sat on my front step eating it while the dog pottered about the front. Drank 3 cans of Diet Coke with it.
Stay sitting out for an hour then came in for a nap.
Took DD to work and got a McFlurry.
Had another one when I picked her up again.
I've had 6 tins of Diet Coke altogether today.
I've did nothing but make DH his dinner.
It's warm here (NI) but not roasting.

womblessofwimbledon · 25/07/2019 23:11

Drank in a weatherspoons with my 19yr old godson discussing his body hair and the best removal methods 🤦🏻‍♀️

TomHagenMakesMyBosomTremble · 25/07/2019 23:16

I'm a size 14-16 atm and I had an ice cream and a lovely chilled glass of white wine because it's just so hot. Disgraceful, I know.

Oh - and I've just bought a beautiful slightly pricey handbag. Outrageous.

ithinkiammelting · 25/07/2019 23:43

Persuaded dd that today was the day that she didn't have to wear her uniform black trousers to work but that her black skirt would do instead and they could hardly complain because it was too hot.

She works in a male-dominated environment. Apparently all the blokes were really jealous and were all saying they wished they were able to wear skirts as well Grin

MostlyAmbridgeandcoffee · 26/07/2019 00:15

Loving this thread. Ate lots of crap (some of it hot ) unlike all those who said it was ‘too hot to eat’.
But seriously guys stop using the driers today that is mad (and a weird response to global warming !)

Ivegotthree · 26/07/2019 00:19

Been pleased about Boris being our new PM.

Thurmanmurman · 26/07/2019 00:24

Kids ate dinner wearing only their pants. I cooked said dinner wearing a bikini.

Ivegotthree · 26/07/2019 00:28

OK just read the full thread.

Not ok to tumble dry on a day like today!!!

WeeCharlotte · 26/07/2019 00:34

Kept all the curtains shut to keep the house cool, and walked round naked. Not bothered if the neighbours think we're goths.Grin

Yousicktwistedfruit · 26/07/2019 00:37

I have done nothing but sit round in my bra and knickers for the last 2 days watching crap on tv sweating from places that I didn’t know I could sweat from and now am sitting her clutching a frozen hot water bottle to my body trying to stay cool.

Cautionsharpblade · 26/07/2019 00:42

Accidentally left some washing out overnight. Not only did it get darked on, it got slugged on but I’ve not rewashed it.

somanyresusablebags · 26/07/2019 00:45

The 13 year old is out all day at "ponds" I have never seen and this evening admitted to jumping off bridges.

On one hand he is a good and sensible boy. We are not from here, everyone else is from here. It is an idyllic childhood with bridges, rivers, bikes,

On the other hand, danger.

SymphonyofShadows · 26/07/2019 00:46

Spent much of the day laying in the sofa gaming and eating M&S cheese tasters, dressed in an old AC/DC shirt and knickers. I also bought some loafers I don’t need in the Grenson sale online.

Serenity45 · 26/07/2019 01:46

Great thread Star
WFH today which involved sitting/lounging while commando and braless. Sending the odd email to show willing (I do usually work my arse off).

Use of a toilet brush as bleaching the loos counts as cleaning the bathrooms.

5 cider lollies so far and about to have another before I go to bed.

We don't have kids but if we did they would have been fully feral and hopped up on lollies.

Shouted at DH not to spoon me this morning as I didn't want him having to peel his sweaty ballsacks off my bum crack (and told him so)
