This is lighthearted but seen lots of threads today about leaving kids alone etc.

Today after a trip out and being exhausted I let my toddler watch TV for about 3 hours!
Whilst my teen had lots of screen time.

I. Also needed some bits at shop and dd was in just a nappy and cba to dress her. So I let my teen (13) sit with her with her whist I ran over.. The shop is in sight..

Im getting take away for the 2nd night in a row.
Both kids have had a fair amount of junk.. Crisps. Cheddars. Cake 2 ice creams and ice lolly.

And I've used my washing machine for such small loads. And re washed the bedding that was washed Tuesday. Because wanted to get as much as I can done and dried before the weekend and dp being off next week to have family time..
And when it cools down I'm going to iron it all lol.

We have been to a paddli g pool 1st thing and local park this eve.

Went to McDonald’s for the second time this week, wearing no knickers and eat 2 chocolate bars, my kitten passed away this morning so I’m comfort eating x

Nothing wrong with that @Withnailandaye. I embarrassed my husband last week by sniffing all the panty liners in 3 shops before I bought some.

Re tumble dryer use....... DD finished a shift at 8pm, home at 8.40. Wanted her one, bigger size looser work top to be washed to wear at 6.20am next day. It was washed by 9.30pm and hung out but i didn't want to risk it being on the line, damp and dewy at 5.20 when needed, so, i popped it in dryer for 15 mins around midnight.

This thread is great. I'm going whatever I need to do to make the school holidays pleasurable for ds and me

Wore a bra I’d worn before without washing it.

Used towels I’ve used before without washing them.

Didn’t change my bedsheets (they’ve been on for four days now).

Used a loo brush.

Yes, I know that. I didn’t used to have a garden myself. In a heatwave I’d hang my washing on a clothes airer by a sunny window and it’d be dry as quick as putting it outside.

Next you’ll be telling me some people don’t have a window.

Yep. I've got a large garden and several windows, but don't have a clothesline and can't be arsed to put one up when I have a washer drier to just do it all for me. I'm lazy and I don't care.

Left three of my kids home for the morning whilst I worked (youngest came with). They had a list of chores which they did but I’m certain they addled their brains rotten with screens for the rest of the time.

DS1 is now making dinner because I’m packing for holiday and was too hot and exhausted to do it yesterday and now I can’t be arsed to cook.

I’m in Greece, it’s 30 degrees at 830 (am and pm, actually) and I cooked a roast chicken this afternoon in my bikini, whilst in and out of the pool with kids.

Ate when it was cooled down with roast wedges and a tiny bit of salad, lush. Had no idea any of this was frowned upon.

Jumped off a dock with my kids
Swam at the beach out of our depth in lots of waves
Ignored my children so I could work
Drove a pickup truck
Used a tumble dryer
Told my kids to make themselves a plastic pot of ramen for lunch, or just heat up a hotdog

And we have 11 weeks of this :-)

Four loads of washing done and dried (outside). Let the children have unlimited screen time whilst I had a 2 hour nap this afternoon.

Thursday I drove my daughter and son in law and all their charity stuff from Dagenham to Olympia for the Film and Comicon. 3 hours there, 2 hour wait whilst they set up their table then 4 hours back. Car had aircon but the traffic was a nightmare, they were no help, bickering with each other on the way there until I threatened to drop them at the next underground station and on the way back they were playing some game on their mobiles, stimulating company. Hope they will make £1000 for their pet charity over the weekend. Today much cooler so I just sat indoors watching TV and mucking around on my mobile and PC

Had some “me time” in the caravan on holiday whilst husband cooked tea ....then came out of the bedroom and have now snook off to the pub

I haven't eaten yet today, I've just got home from work and sent DD14 to chippy as I just cant be arsed to cook, I'm too hot and tired 🤷‍♀️

Cleaned the toilet. WITH A BRUSH! THE HORROR!!!

Had a wrestling match with my manager over a set of keys in his pocket. God only knows what we looked like but I'm willing to bet it wasn't professional.

Went to work in the same leggings I'd worn to the gym that morning.

Ate most of a fully melted large bar of Cadburys mint Oreo chocolate with a teaspoon.

Would do it again

Am actually so glad it isn't 38 degrees here compared to yesterday, I feel massively productive in comparison!
I have done party bags in advance and filled them with sweets
I have had a kid over to whom I offered a drink, suggested a play theme and left to it whilst I read
I have made guacamole for only the 2nd time in my life
I am now eating said guacamole solo upstairs with the entire packet of cheesy Doritos without dd's knowledge this is a deliberate plan

Eaten soup that I'd spilt on the counter (haven't wiped the counter since yesterday morning)

Left kids (11 and 14) to feed themselves while I was at work. No food in the housr so they would have to go out and something. Only to get them outside and away from screens They went to Nandos

I did all my housework and cleaned the loo with my toilet brush.
I also dusted everywhere, hoovered, cleaned one bathroom and one shower room, changed beds, replaced the bathroom towels which the whole family has been using for the past week and put 3 loads of washing on and hung out to dry.

Now it is a toss up between doing the ironing and walking up the road to the chippy

Eaten a full quiche for me tea with nothing else

Had a surreal experience when I went to visit with my dad. When I was leaving I saw a live rabbit under his car.

It looked like a pet rabbit my dad and I spent a good 45 minutes trying to catch it under cars in flower beds all around my dad's street

Only for its owner to pull up in their drive and the rabbit to hop back to its cage in the front garden.

We'd built up quite a gang of neighbours, teenagers and all saw it hop to its cage. Was the funniest thing

Hissed occasionally at the outdoors like a stressed vampire 😂
