This is lighthearted but seen lots of threads today about leaving kids alone etc.

Today after a trip out and being exhausted I let my toddler watch TV for about 3 hours!
Whilst my teen had lots of screen time.

I. Also needed some bits at shop and dd was in just a nappy and cba to dress her. So I let my teen (13) sit with her with her whist I ran over.. The shop is in sight..

Im getting take away for the 2nd night in a row.
Both kids have had a fair amount of junk.. Crisps. Cheddars. Cake 2 ice creams and ice lolly.

And I've used my washing machine for such small loads. And re washed the bedding that was washed Tuesday. Because wanted to get as much as I can done and dried before the weekend and dp being off next week to have family time..
And when it cools down I'm going to iron it all lol.

We have been to a paddli g pool 1st thing and local park this eve.

@CrispSandwiches19

Not sure if anyone would Shock at it...

But today I have been home most of the day, and have had

FOUR showers.

4 cans of lager with 3 packs of crisps #notevensorry

Watched Love Island.

Sprayed myself with the hose when watering the plants.

Watched the last 3 episodes of Stranger Things 3.

Stood out in a 15 minute rain-storm and got soaked. (Utter bliss!)

Dropped a plastic jug on the cat (accidently) from 2 feet up. (She is OK btw, and didn't squeal or cry out; I think it just made her jump!)

Done 2 take-a-break crosswords.

Try not to be well-jell of my exciting life. Grin

CMOTDibbler · 25/07/2019 22:00

I bleached the top of ds's hair so that tomorrow I can apply a hair colour whose name is 'Electric Lizard' tomorrow. And he has spent most of the day wafting round in a cotton kaftan

ballsdeep · 25/07/2019 22:01

Let my two year old run around naked all dya

ThrowThoseCurtainsWide · 25/07/2019 22:01

I tipped cups of water over my head in public. (I had to stand in the blazing sun just after midday for 90mins due to a medical emergency) After the second cup I realised I was wearing a thin white shirt... doh! At least I was wearing a decent bra!!

I also went to the cinema by myself just so I could sit in the air con. Ordered a large popcorn but only ate half of it. Put it on the seat next to me and left it there Blush

Sat in the car with the engine & air-con on to eat my lunch. Walked across a car park with an ice block in each pocket of my shorts. Then sat cuddling the ice blocks in Starbucks. I'm too hot to care!

Also, dinner was a large Diet Coke and some Red Leicester melts from mcdonalds.

Haven't showered, haven't washed up, left everything from last night exactly where it was

Yubaba · 25/07/2019 22:04

I’ve put a load in the dryer because it was to hot to hang out washing.

I’ve let my kids have unlimited access to ice pops, And I had a magnum for breakfast Blush

I got into the paddling pool with all my clothes on.

And I haven’t worn a bra all day because it was too bloody hot.

Teacakeandalatte · 25/07/2019 22:04

notangelinajolie Oh I was being a bit dim there shall blame the heat😂
I did think about the thread where someone made her dd throw out her 3rd magnum as I ate yet another lolly, in my defence some of them were fruit based.

RamonaQuimbyAge8 · 25/07/2019 22:05

I love this thread.Star

ethelfleda · 25/07/2019 22:07

watched two fifty shades of grey films. Whilst WFH.

Eminybob · 25/07/2019 22:08

Went to the pub and sat in the beer garden, in the mid day heat, let my 5 year old run around and 8 month old crawls on the grass. While dh and I sat with wine/beer and crisps. The baby wasn’t even wearing a hat as he kept pulling it off.

rainbowstardrops · 25/07/2019 22:10

I absolutely love this thread!!!
This personifies NORMAL people!!!! And not the holier than thou crap that I usually read!
I can't contribute much because my children are in their teens but I did shove the towels that we used at the beach today in the tumble dryer after I'd washed them because I couldn't be arsed/was bloody melting, to hang them on the line and then get them in again.
They're still in the tumble dryer. I'm too hot to give a shit.

CookPassBabtridge · 25/07/2019 22:11

Now this is my kind of thread.. honest and the perfect anti-dote to facebook boasting.

Today I have eaten 10 callipos (full size)
I'm wearing a bra that has a bit of curry sauce on from days ago
My kids have watched peppa pig for most of the day (lots of playing inbetween though)

OneOfTheGrundys · 25/07/2019 22:13

Watched telly and went on twitter literally nearly all day while DS gamed and we waited for other DS to come home from sleepover. Got up occasionally for more water/ice cream.

Hissed occasionally at the outdoors like a stressed vampire.

ethelfleda · 25/07/2019 22:15

Driven an uninsured car in a rogue African country ... given the circumstances I didn't have much choice but whew that was wild for me

I need to know more about this.

Wide0penSpace · 25/07/2019 22:15

All the tumble dryer use on this thread is bonkers.
Seriously, does nobody care about the environment or your children’s futures? The effects of climate change are truly frightening and we all need to start taking some responsibility.

shieldmaidenofrohan · 25/07/2019 22:15

Got home from 10 hrs in our air conditioned control room and practically passed out from the heat. Elected not to do anything and sat in front of the telly building Lego friends

MarieIVanArkleStinks · 25/07/2019 22:16

Driven 21yr old to McDonald’s for his work . Ate two McFlurrys one after the other in the car park . Plus a large Fat coke .

Am due to pick him up at midnight , and if it doesn’t cool the fuck down soon , I might do the same again .

DS4 has spent the whole day on the Xbox with small breaks to go and see the owls/eat another lolly/pour another glass of Pepsi. In his pants. Which , it transpires , need replacing sharpish .

over50andfab · 25/07/2019 22:17

Had a fabulous day. Threw on a bikini, F50 on my nose, F30 everywhere else, and sat out in the garden all afternoon drinking ready mixed cocktails and reading MN threads and other social media. 😀🌞🍹

Benjispruce · 25/07/2019 22:19

Am a bit shocked that you’d put a tumble dryer on in perfect drying weather. I put 4 towels out and they were dry in 45 mins. It only took a minute to peg them.

SukiPutTheEarlGreyOn · 25/07/2019 22:19

I hate shopping yet spent 2 hours in our local mall because it has bone-freezing levels of air conditioning. It was road meltingly hot when I went in and by the time I surfaced everywhere was soaked after a downpour. Yay! The downside is that I managed to spend £45 in Primark without buying a single item of clothing. How is that possible? (to be fair it is about 6 years since I was last in there, but still...)

On the way home, I popped into a small supermarket to get bits for tea and the majority of the food cold cabinets were either empty or covered over because they’d exceeded max safe temperature. So I came home with a lettuce, 2 tomatoes, a pack of pringles and a cold beer.

NeverTwerkNaked · 25/07/2019 22:21

Gave the kids ice lollies for breakfast because it was all I could face eating too.

Bought DD (age 5) a bikini, because she wanted one, and it was lovely bright colours, and it came with a rash vest we will use on beach days. And I know some people think they Are inappropriate for little ones but she just liked the pretty colours and actually it's so boiling hot why shouldn't she wear as little as possible.

crispysausagerolls · 25/07/2019 22:22

ThrowThoseCurtainsWide

Red Leicester melts?!?! HOW DO I NOT KNOW ABOUT THESE?!?

I also let DS have his dinner in the living room whilst playing so I could drape myself across various items of furniture.

Bellasblankexpression · 25/07/2019 22:22

Realised that my skirting boards are ridiculously dusty and I can’t remember when I last cleaned them, then pretended I hadn’t noticed as it’s too hot to clean.
Didn’t change the beds even though they’ve been on a for a week.

NeverTwerkNaked · 25/07/2019 22:23

I also used the tumble drier 😮 because the children were having water fights most of the day! Plus our neanderthal next door neighbour sees washing on the line as his cue to light up the barbecue so I have given up on it!
