This is lighthearted but seen lots of threads today about leaving kids alone etc.

Today after a trip out and being exhausted I let my toddler watch TV for about 3 hours!
Whilst my teen had lots of screen time.

I. Also needed some bits at shop and dd was in just a nappy and cba to dress her. So I let my teen (13) sit with her with her whist I ran over.. The shop is in sight..

Im getting take away for the 2nd night in a row.
Both kids have had a fair amount of junk.. Crisps. Cheddars. Cake 2 ice creams and ice lolly.

And I've used my washing machine for such small loads. And re washed the bedding that was washed Tuesday. Because wanted to get as much as I can done and dried before the weekend and dp being off next week to have family time..
And when it cools down I'm going to iron it all lol.

We have been to a paddli g pool 1st thing and local park this eve.

Oh yeah I put THREE linefulls of washing out (about 5 days back-up of washing,) and each linefull was dry within 20 to 40 minutes! Pillow cases 20 minutes, small towels and sweatshirts 40 minutes.

@simonJT liking the cut of your jib.

African rogue state person... intriguing. Where and why?!?!

Camomila · 25/07/2019 22:28

DS had two ice lollies, a bowl of baked beans, and 2 apples for dinner - tbh I considered it quite balanced for a heat wave dinner Grin

I haven't done anything exciting, I sensibly stayed inside all day (cooler than the garden) and drank lots of water. But I did put it in a mason jar shaped like a cactus. I ventured outside in the evening, got bit and ran back in!

Bellasblankexpression · 25/07/2019 22:29

I’m curious about the tumble dryer usage -
Doesn’t it just kick out hot air into the house? Our
Old one used to but it was pretty crap.

Flupibass · 25/07/2019 22:30

Ate a magnum . Mostly watched amazon prime. Did hang my washing out and walked the dog very early. Wish it would rain here.

mooncuplanding · 25/07/2019 22:32

Had 3 hours sleep, travelled with work for 12 hours(plus the actual work!), wasn’t back for dinner so got pizza delivered for dc in my absence.

My washing is also still out and about to get darked on

alittlerayofsunshine · 25/07/2019 22:33

Does seem a bit weird - and pointless - to tumbledry washing in this weather!

ohGoshItsSummer · 25/07/2019 22:34

Had 3 magnums Grin

Teacher22 · 25/07/2019 22:34

Went looking for grown up DD’s bonkers cat who goes doolally in the heat. We found and rescued him and locked him in the cool house for his own sake.

Had raspberries and ice cream for dinner.

Ratbagcatbag · 25/07/2019 22:34

Got my daughters ears pierced at Claire's accessories.

Spent far too much money on clothes whilst hiding from the heat in the shopping centre.

Cooked a cottage pie that needed eating but literally dished it up with peas and nothing else.

Teacakeandalatte · 25/07/2019 22:35

To be honest the only reason I wouldn't use the dryer is that it might heat the house up but the washing did dry super quick on the line. There was a really annoying two minute shower which forced me to run outside and get everything in and then it stopped instantly luckily the washing was dry but I was sweating like anything after my run and had to have another lolly.

willloman · 25/07/2019 22:36

Yes, littlechocola. Mowing lawn v. dangerous in sandals. My mum nearly took her big toe clean off doing this!

SinisterBumFacedCat · 25/07/2019 22:38

Called Jacob Rees-Mogg a cunt within earshot of DS.

lljkk · 25/07/2019 22:39

...Encouraged my teens 2 go play in the fields after dark with lightning all around us.
*Lightning is still far away, honest.

rosamacrose · 25/07/2019 22:39

Spent the afternoon at a work team building exercise.
Came home, drank wine.
Phoned a mate, slagged off the Director in charge, called the full lot of management cunts.
They are all cunts.
He is a bullying cunt.

christinarossetti19 · 25/07/2019 22:40

Ran and cool bath first thing and ds and I submerged ourselves several times in the same water throughout the day.

Crunched · 25/07/2019 22:40

Bought a copy of The Daily Mail

historysock · 25/07/2019 22:41

I rejected an available 'huge salad' in favour of having two starters (halloumi fries and some calamari) for dinner.

PCohle · 25/07/2019 22:41

Christ, responding to the frightening consequences of global warming by whacking the tumble dryer on seems utterly mad.

CherrySocks · 25/07/2019 22:41

Kept water from shower in the bath and paddled in it whenever I went to bathroom.

tillytoodles1 · 25/07/2019 22:43

I stood naked, wafting the freezer door, until ASDA security threw me out.

MoobaaMoobaa · 25/07/2019 22:43

PinkyPrincessy
Did the same Grin apart from it was heavy petting then we went in side for the rest.

But I thought of mumsnet when in the hot tub and music blaring out. ShockGrin

disclaimer - we don't have any neighbours to upset

secretfreckle · 25/07/2019 22:44

Love this thread ⭐
Got up at 6.30 am to take daughter (16) to work. Came home and went back to bed till 10.15 am with coffee and two chocolate croissants.
Went to meet two friends at local shopping centre at 11 am for a coffee, leaving other daughter (13) in bed/on social media. Picked up first daughter from work and went to Post Office. Ate orange clubs and salt and vinegar square crisps round at mum's house. Went to Sainsbury's and bought bread/houmus/guacamole, which one daughter ate for tea while the rest of us ate hot dogs in rolls. Now lying in bed with Absolute 80s on Alexa and fan on, eating Greek yoghurt and honey.

Flamingo84 · 25/07/2019 22:45

Took 11 month old DS to garden centre just to escape the house. Gave him pouch food for lunch and dinner. (Sidenote: A wasp landed in my lunch while I was feeding him).

His leg got stuck between the crib bars after his nap. He cried. I’ve ordered a cot bumper.

Had to YouTube how to loosen the chest straps on his new car seat in Aldi car park after having just changed his nappy on the back seat (yes it was a poo). DH assured me he knew how it all worked and I believed him.

Due to the car seat debacle and going to 2 shops to try saving money on food, DS was an hour late having dinner.

Totally winning at parenting today. I’ve had a glass of wine and a magnum.

Racheyg · 25/07/2019 22:49

Kids were on the trampoline at 7.50 this morning

Spent half the evening naked either on the trampoline or in the paddling pool

Me and dcs have eaten crap all day 😳
