Just sitting here reading some of the old threads, and I sometimes just laugh out loud at some of the posts. The way some posters response to threads is so funny, the DCs will look at me confused " mum why are you laughing? " Blush anyone else do this?

OP posts:
IntoValhalla · 12/07/2019 06:27

There was quite a recent one too about a poster who’d promised her Dd a trifle for some event at the school....the trifle was a disaster but she kept us updated the whole time with pictures Grin I had a giggle at that one.

Sparklingbrook · 12/07/2019 06:30

Can someone explain how 'snapped and farted' was funny?

HeronLanyon · 12/07/2019 06:39

There we go again ‘realised they looked like Lionel Blair’. Grin

TheInvisibleMrsCrane · 12/07/2019 06:48

The Colonel Gadaffi comparison stopped being funny to me in the 1980s when I was about 12. It brings back happy memories of 80s fashion, but rather than finding it funny I’m thinking ‘what were we thinking?’.

Absoluteunit · 12/07/2019 06:53

I've been a regular for maybe 5/6 years and it has happened maybe 3 or 4 times.

I've never spat out my tea though

MsTSwift · 12/07/2019 06:56

I can’t find that what I really looked thread surely it was kept somewhere it was so funny

Vulpine · 12/07/2019 06:57

I loved the one which told the unfolding story of the kid practicing his guitar in a reception area. V funny. Smiled but no spitting tea.

EssentialHummus · 12/07/2019 07:02

There was one a week or so ago when the OP describes (among a litany of disasters) walking her baby in a field to try to get him to sleep, the field they always walked through, only to have a brass band strike up as soon as they came by. There was something about her wording ("We always walk through there! There's never been a brass band!") that had me actually doubling over with laughter.

But no, doesn't happen often.

Absoluteunit · 12/07/2019 07:03

Spud cunt, Angela Hernandez and Cunt for the butter were all brilliant

BertieBotts · 12/07/2019 07:11

I have laughed out loud just at the memories of some of these threads reading this just now Blush

In my defence I am alone (well apart from DS2 but he can't talk yet) I don't tend to laugh as easily when I'm around other people. Though DH has occasionally noticed me with tears running down.

DS1 is always like "What's funny? What? Tell me!!" so I must laugh a bit audibly...

sashh · 12/07/2019 07:34

I do LOL at some threads, not every day and I have come close to spitting coffee.

katewhinesalot · 12/07/2019 07:44

Not generally but there have been one or two comments that have made me emit noise of some sort. I have also had tears a few times over the years.

Watching "The Play That Goes Wrong" made me realise that some people are very loud. People were laughing uproariously at something which was mildly amusing at best.

AspiringPilot · 12/07/2019 07:58

where someone said they took their microwave on holiday with them to warm their baby's milk,

How is that even possible? 😂

OP posts:
buttertoasty · 12/07/2019 09:57

Also I think it's been deleted now but there was a thread where the OP was whinging about a restaurant bringing out the starters at the wrong time and her family were so upset they couldn't sleep all night. I was in hysterics at that

twitterbird · 12/07/2019 11:44

The evil Easter Bonnet, screaming at the michealangelo were some of the ones which had me in stitches

Whereismyfigleaf · 12/07/2019 12:42

Oh the really inappropriate funeral thread in classics, has made me laugh out loud, even made me snort, I'm normally not a snorter 🤣.

EmeraldShamrock · 12/07/2019 12:45

Yes, I've laugh out loud but never pissed myself or spit my tea, some posters are very whitty. Smile

managedmis · 12/07/2019 12:49

Very very occasionally.

Snapped and farted and also the one where a woman was shagging a Spanish bloke in some bushes

UpOnTheShelf · 12/07/2019 12:50

While I've never wet myself, sprayed my keyboard, woken my husband etc, I have at times laughed till I've cried at some posts within threads, rather than the threads themselves.
Popping candy on the penis breaker thread had me laughing so hard that I was in danger of asphyxiation, I seriously struggled to breath 😂

managedmis · 12/07/2019 12:51

Fat match, Suzuki Quatro's fat nan, your minge etc

^^that thread was GOLD. Someone linked a pic of Richard 3rd, hilarious. And 'I looked like a boy friend'

So witty

I miss toss daily!

DtPeabodysLoosePants · 12/07/2019 13:00

I did laugh with tears rolling down my face at the farting thread. I do love a good fart and having IBS I do some that I'm sure they can feel the vibrations of in Scotland.

And the sex in a hedge thread. That was awesome.

TheTitOfTheIceberg · 12/07/2019 13:13

I missed the hedge sex thread at the time so have just read it through and there are some really funny laugh out loud witty comments.

I echo Sparklingbrook's plea...if you're one of the people who cried at 'snapped and farted' pleeeease can you tell me what I'm not getting? I know humour is subjective but I even went back to it on another day to see if it had been my mood at the time but I just didn't crack a smile. It's assumed cult status as one of the funniest threads ever and I just don't get it!

has a minor tantrum at feeling left out

SylviaAndSidney · 12/07/2019 13:26

I've also never 'got' snapped and farted, although the ridiculousness of screaming in the Sistine Chapel did make me titter, only the opening post though.

Sparklingbrook · 12/07/2019 13:49

I think the TV show 'Bottom' is funny so my SOH isn't particularly refined but I feel like you TheTitOfTheIceberg. I want to cry and spit tea at the cat etc at 'snapped and farted' but I don't understand. Sad

Pirandello24 · 12/07/2019 13:56

OP I think they were going on holiday in the UK and didn't trust the hotel's microwave in case it heated it differently?! I can't quite remember and really wish I could find that thread!
