To ask if you laugh out loud at reading the threads/posts here?

Just sitting here reading some of the old threads, and I sometimes just laugh out loud at some of the posts. The way some posters response to threads is so funny, the DCs will look at me confused " mum why are you laughing? " Blush anyone else do this?

OP posts:
SapphireSeptember · 11/07/2019 20:25

Yes, I find some of the comments on here really funny. I've laughed till I've cried, laughed till I couldn't breathe and on occasion spat my drink out (not all over my computer, yet...) I also sometimes laugh until I fall over (although I'm sitting on my bed so I don't actually fall over properly.)

I have a very childish sense of humour though, and reckon some of you are far too sophisticated to find 90% of the things I find hilarious even remotely amusing. Wink

EdWinchester · 11/07/2019 20:28

No, I might be vaguely amused but laughing out loud? No.

Those threads where posters 'spit tea over the keyboard' make me eye-roll.

TheInvisibleMrsCrane · 11/07/2019 20:34

I have never laughed, pee’d or spat at anything on here - not even Pom Bears. Some things are mildly amusing, but that is a funny as it gets.

LadyOfTheCanyon · 11/07/2019 20:37

I can lay claim to the Boil in the Vag typo - it was kind of gratifying that people found it so amusing at the time but there was a certain amount of people laying claim to tea spitting etc that had me a bit eye rolly after a while. ( I also made it onto the Reddit troll board where they were discussing whether or not I made it up. Man, that's a strange part of the internet!)

I often snigger to myself at some posts - a lot of MN have a brilliant way with words. Suzi Quatro's Fat Nan was definitely one of those moments. Grin

OhMsBeliever · 11/07/2019 20:43

I've laughed out loud and cried with laughter at loads of threads on here. Must be my infantile sense of humour I guess!

IntoValhalla · 11/07/2019 20:44

Bum gravy from the “A dog shat on my picnic” thread had me genuinely laughing so hard I had tears streaming Grin
Also “snapped and farted” did make me laugh out loud Grin
Other than that, I have a good snigger at some of the witty remarks, but none have quite been of “bum gravy” calibre

Absolutepowercorrupts · 11/07/2019 20:49

Suzi Quattro's fat Nan is on a thread in Classics, the title is something like Expectation versus Reality, it's a Style and beauty one from about November 2018. I did laugh out loud at many of the comments on there.
I'm useless at links so sorry can't do that.

User478 · 11/07/2019 20:52

The poster who's husband bought 100 bread rolls rather than loo rolls.

The poster who told their small children to "fill your boots" with custard.

The poster who walked round all day with her "labia out".

Genuine hysterics each time.

-but had I been more/less tired or grumpy when I read them initially then it might have just been a smirk.
I am unmoved by penis beaker, pom bears and other classics.

Thattwatoverthere · 11/07/2019 20:58

Some of the posts in penetration man in classics made me actually laugh out loud but usually it's a bit of a snort and move on. It depends on my mood and how sleep deprived/close to hysteria I am.

Although actually the recent FB fail post was pretty amusing

MamaMumMama · 11/07/2019 21:06

Yes they definitely make me laugh! I read the top threads every night, they remind me that we are all human and crazy shizzle happens to all of us

IntoValhalla · 11/07/2019 21:09

@Thattwatoverthere omg I can’t believe I forgot Penetration Man Grin lots of thenpostsnon that thread were worthy of a real chuckle too

missyB1 · 11/07/2019 21:11

I have giggled out loud at a few things but definitely no tea spitting!
There was a thread on another parenting forum once about a turd that wouldn’t flush away that had me nearly crying with laughter.

goldpendant · 11/07/2019 21:13

Fat balls was the only thread that had me laughing out loud! It was amazing.

BabyMoonPie · 11/07/2019 21:18

I tend to laugh at things that are unexpectedly random. There was one where the OP was having a pedicure and a staff member starting peeling a potato. The mental image genuinely had me crying with laughter

NoWordForFluffy · 11/07/2019 21:25

I have quite literally cried with laughter at threads on here

Me too. Nor for many years though. There's nowhere near as much funny stuff now. I can't remember the last time I even had an internal laugh actually!

Whereismyfigleaf · 11/07/2019 21:37

I do, and I love the odd witty posts 😀.

MerryBerryCheesecake · 11/07/2019 21:47

At times I have laughed until I became a mess of tears and snot. DH has come in and enquired what's up only to end up pissing himself laughing too upon having the tablet thrust at him so he can see for himself.

It's occasionally one post but usually is more the unrelenting string of funny posts when a thread really gets going.

There are some very witty people knocking around this place.

Farting, sex and embarrassing incident threads are my favourite. I never claimed to be sophisticated.

InsertFunnyUsername · 11/07/2019 21:51

No, and i feel like a miserable git when i read a thread and everyone is finding something hilarious and i haven't even puffed air out of my nose.

And then i read the dreaded "This has to be nominated for classics surely" and thats me done with the internet for the day.

I have had a little laugh at threads and smile at my phone, but not real tears, gasping for breath, reaching for my inhaler type laughs sigh

FrogFairy · 11/07/2019 21:56

“Your minge!” Genuinely made me laugh out loud.

SamBeckett · 11/07/2019 22:00

It does not happen very often but I do cry with laughter at some of the post , as PP said it is often a witty comment or a typo that sets me off rather than the whole thread been funny.
although one on here at the moment made me laugh , a posters auto correct went into over drive and changed silver bullet into silver gusset.

I prefer the threads that go on for days with OP updating every now and then . I can not remember the exact title but ' someone having sex in my hedge' kept us all on edge for days. It is classics .
the problem is if you read it now you dont get the anticipation that we all had , unless you can be very disciplined and only read what was posted on each day ie you would only read what was posted on Thursday if you read it today .

LauderSyme · 11/07/2019 22:01

Yes fairly often and I don't even try to hide it on public transport Wink

A few have had me literally crying with laughter, I think it's the cumulative effect of post after post riffing on a theme that does it. I particularly remember a hilarious thread entitled something like "Things no one ever told you before you got pregnant". I was pregnant. I related.

Sukeyb · 11/07/2019 22:02

no

Foslady · 11/07/2019 22:05

Certainly giggled at a few - Cattheifkeith usually got me grinning.

I miss her Sad

pistachiomousse · 11/07/2019 22:06

Tiny wanker made me laugh and also someone made an Easter hat for their son with a fox on it which looked really sinister and that was amusing and there were some funny comments about it too.

MsTSwift · 11/07/2019 22:08

I had to bury my head in a pillow to stifle laughter at some. The one that got me was a thread in style and beauty - what the op and other posters thought they looked like in a particular outfit and the reality. God it was funny post after post.
