I'm cross that the clean bed luxury has been ruined

I've changed our bed today and it was overdue. I put the sheet and pillow back on but the duvet cover is a bit damp so has stayed on the airer.
I just went in to find DD lying on our bed, on the sheet in her outdoor clothes. Angry

Sweaty husband would have been reprimanded! My own relatively clean child, not. Wink Grin

StealthPolarBear · 07/07/2019 21:36

Right in between the post agreeing with me this is just polar bear baiting now and has been for some time. Thank you for all your feedback, it is much appreciated, apart from the poster who compared me to josef fritzl. That won't be forgotten. I'm leaving this thread on a high note, cancelling the cheque and scrubbing out the penis beaker. May you all be festooned with daily clean sheets and pillowcases for the rest of your lives.

Outdoor clothes? What - clothes? Never heard of out door clothes. Or do you mean coat

Namechangerextraordinaire1 · 07/07/2019 21:38

Yadnbu. I hate when my freshly washed sheets become violated. You must: shower/bathe, including hair and be wesring fresh pjs for the first sleep in freshly washed sheets

*disclaimer as it seems people don't understand the lighthearterness of this thread, I don't enforce this rule, but it should just be the law really

Elfblossom · 07/07/2019 21:39

I just LOVE your cat comment! Will from this point forth, forever more, refer to my 6 cats as having 'indoor fur' and 'outdoor fur' 😂😍

Vulpine · 07/07/2019 21:40

Poor daughter

Honeyroar · 07/07/2019 21:50

OP I think you've been very calm and a good sport throughout page after page of this thread.

onegiftedgal · 07/07/2019 22:04

You are weird op.

Twillow · 07/07/2019 22:17

Ha ha! I have clothes, I wear them indoors and outdoors. I don't change to go out or change when I get in (I know some people like to get into jammies as soon as they get in, but you know I might want to go out again and who can do all that dressing and undressing...)
YANBU if she was perhaps wearing muddy wellies or a wet raincoat, but otherwise...?

justkeepsinging · 07/07/2019 22:18

Someone else posted this kind of thing about a husband lying on the bed in his clothes and he was a green grocer or similar hefting marrows about and it was very selfish of him to lie on a bed in the same clothes he'd lifted marrows in etc etc.

That was also on MN.

So I feel on this occasion I can say ONLY on MN have I seen this.

sunshine11 · 07/07/2019 22:20

I completely understand @StealthPolarBear, that would drive me mad too.

Do the rest of you have no decorum? Who wants outdoor germs in their nice clean bed. Yuck!

Deep breathe and change the sheet!

Lolly25 · 07/07/2019 22:28

Stealth bear I completely understand...I am Obsessive about a crisp , clean bed, uncontaminated, lol.
I change ours every other day and that feeling getting in..in clean sweet sheets is bliss.....

Happyspud · 07/07/2019 22:34

Lol! Christ life takes a lot of overthinking for some people.

ClaireScot · 07/07/2019 22:35

How often do you change your sheets OP? Just out of interest.

Bringonspring · 07/07/2019 22:35

I’m congratulating OP for sticking around for 30 pages! Bloody brilliant!

neveradullmoment99 · 07/07/2019 22:43

@MrsDimmond - Actually I was referring to the original OP -

I just went in to find DD lying on our bed, on the sheet in her outdoor clothes

She clearly states on our bed not in.

@StealthPolarBear also asked in which I replied above:

Do you lie in your bed, under the duvet, on the sheet?

So don't be so rude.

StealthPolarBear · 07/07/2019 22:44

That was an error, which I later corrected. She was on our bed but it was without duvet. So she was on the sheet.

SolsticeBabyMaybe · 07/07/2019 22:47

20 pages later I actually think YANBU! IN the sheets is totally different.

Dontfuckingsaycheese · 07/07/2019 22:58

Stealing the clean sheet moment from me and ds!! Also wearing his outside fur 😉

Delurking for the definite final time honest to admire his cuteness

OP posts:
Vulpine · 07/07/2019 23:06

The same bed you have sex on? So outdoor germs are bad but indoor germs are ok?Hmm

Dutypaid · 07/07/2019 23:16

My cat is currently washing her outdoor fur on my bed. Later, she will pull back the duvet (by digging) and get under it; directly on the sheet, for a cuddle. Thankfully she has the courtesy to wash first.

DiscoDown · 07/07/2019 23:34

I'm with you Stealth - no outdoor clothes on the bed. I also hate the new bed feeling being spoilt by someone getting in before me, XH used to do it all the time, despite never going to bed before me normally. 😒.

Epanoui · 07/07/2019 23:36

This is proper nuts. I can't believe all the people worrying about 'outdoor germs'. There aren't outdoor and indoor germs. Unless you have been rolling in dog poo or something which I think few people past the toddler stage are likely to do, they are all the same germs. All you people with indoor clothes and outdoor clothes are just changing your clothes for nothing.

And I bet you are all also the people who are killing the planet by doing crazy shit like washing towels after one use.

NB, this is not directed at you particularly, OP.. I think you are a little nuts but you've been more than gracious in admitting that you were being a bit unreasonable. Glad to hear your DD is untraumatised as yet (though of course I worry for her future mental health).

purpleboy · 07/07/2019 23:42

Stealth you've opened my eyes tonight.
The thought of outdoor and indoor clothes have never consciously crossed my mind, but I do automatically get changed into indoor clothes as soon as I'm home.
Well done for being such a good sport on this thread, despite the numerous illiterate posters who can't grasp the difference between IN the bed and ON the bed. Think they might be the ones who need to get a grip Wink
