I'm cross that the clean bed luxury has been ruined

I've changed our bed today and it was overdue. I put the sheet and pillow back on but the duvet cover is a bit damp so has stayed on the airer.
I just went in to find DD lying on our bed, on the sheet in her outdoor clothes. Angry

YANBU OP.

And I think a lot of people are lying here, or reading the thread and not posting if they feel the same. I remember reading lots of posts on a “Horrified to see people at the supermarket in their pyjamas” thread about all the outside germs getting into their beds if they wear the same pjs to the shops as they do in bed. Some posters even came on and said they wore Pjs to the shops but changed into fresh ones to go to bed!

Your thread also reminds me of an inadvertent come on I gave to my now DH when we were just —shagging after work— dating. We went back to my tiny bedroom at my flat and he lay on my bed that had the duvet folded back whilst still wearing his work clothes. I insisted that he remove his clothes immediately as outside clothes are not to come into contact with the sheets. It took him a few years to realise this is my actual position on the matter and I wasn’t simply desperate to get him to strip off. Grin

I am totally with you on this OP...
my kids can play on top of their beds with day clothes (even have their friends round) but under the duvet is just for pj.s
but my bed no way ...after they have been rolling around outside 😖
and as for pets my dog and cats are not allowed upstairs at all ..i dont get how people can sleep with all that loose fur and whatever else they pick up in their fur 🤑
Friday night after a long week i like nothing better than a soak in the bath then climbing into freshly washed sheets it is pure bliss 🤗

Deedee248 · 07/07/2019 20:48

OP YANBU. I totally get what you are saying. I would be totally livid if anyone lay on my clean bottom sheet in their outdoor clothes. Outdoor clothes are for outdoors and not EVER to be worn in (somebody else’s) clean bed. If they want to do that in their own bed then fine, but if they did that on my clean sheet, then I would probably change the sheet again. It’s totally minging to wear outdoor clothes in bed!

I am currently lying on top of my duvet. I take my shoes off. It doesn't bother me. When I wear my pj's, I get into my bed. To me, that's the difference.
For crying out loud, that is exactly what Stealth is saying!

She is talking about in the bed.

Booyahkasha · 07/07/2019 20:51

Oh my God you lot are weird, is this all you have to get upset about, a child lying on your bed?!

INeedNewShoes · 07/07/2019 21:00

I haven't rtft but OP I need to tell you that I feel exactly the same as you about this!

I didn't realise quite what a minority I'm part of!

Jenasaurus · 07/07/2019 21:03

This wouldn’t be an issue to me. Now biscuit crumbs in the bed. Well that’s a different matter

StealthPolarBear · 07/07/2019 21:06

"Booyahkasha

Right now yes.

What are out door clothes? Coat and boots? I’m confused as it’s been very warm today. Seems a lot of fuss about nothing unless she was covered in dog shit or mud!

Gth1234 · 07/07/2019 21:12

She is wilful

Why would she even go into mum and dads room? She knows that's off limits.

Severely thrash her. If you don't do severe thrashings, then just tell her gently "that's not very nice behaviour, now, is it?" Then she will get the message. :)

jarhead123 · 07/07/2019 21:15

You sound a little OTT tbh. Outdoor clothes?

StealthPolarBear · 07/07/2019 21:15

I'm seriously not going through the outdoor clothes thing again.
Yes severe thrashings will be had. And ds, for laughing. And DH for sleeping in the same bed as me while being hairy

Benjispruce · 07/07/2019 21:20

Do you lie in your bed, under the duvet, on the sheet?
If I was cold I would get in, in my clothes, say if I was watching TV in my bedroom.,Mostly I would lie on top. I am not dirty, I shower daily and wear clean clothes.

Benjispruce · 07/07/2019 21:21

What do you think will happen op? Nothing has happened to anyone else. Do you have any other clean obsessions?

StealthPolarBear · 07/07/2019 21:24

I think I will be slightly put out and start a thread on mn to moan about what I thought were common topics of conversation (the loveliness of clean sheets and parenting). I don't know what has happened to others, maybe they've grouched to their other halves or rolled their eyes.
More fool me eh.

OP posts:
Benjispruce · 07/07/2019 21:28

OP We all love clean sheets. I just don't see how they would be spoilt by a child lying in them in her clothes!

Benjispruce · 07/07/2019 21:28

If it was a joke, you didn't make it clear.

kennycat · 07/07/2019 21:31

I hear you OP. My husband did something similar this week. He lay on a freshly made bed just after going for a very sweaty bike ride. I did well not to strangle him with his own cycling shorts.
The cheek of it!

Carpetburns · 07/07/2019 21:32

Confusedoutdoor clothes.
I've heard it all now. Get some perspective, OP.

Greensmurf1 · 07/07/2019 21:32

When you spend a disproportionate amount of time having to do laundry and don’t even get a chance to enjoy it feeling clean...without having to think about the bits of grass, and bugs and fox poo germs tracked in from the park, that does kinda suck.

StealthPolarBear · 07/07/2019 21:32

Ten pages later that has certainly become clear
I shall put lighthearted in the title next timr
Although I was exasperated, genuinely. But I assumed mners with the clean sheets love would empathise
Maybe I should have said she was cleaning her teeth with the toilet brush
Or answering the door when she wasn't expecting someone

OP posts:
StealthPolarBear · 07/07/2019 21:33

Perspective got. 8 pages ago. Sigh

OP posts:
kennycat · 07/07/2019 21:34

Oh blimey I've just read the OP properly. On the sheet?! No, no.no. no.

In fact if she had been lying on your sheet when you hadn't just changed the bed that would be gross on a whole other level (sleeping sweat, manky old shed skin, sex wee!)

Anyone in anyone else's bed is just gross. GROSS. regardless of what they are wearing.

Benjispruce · 07/07/2019 21:35

Ir's hard to get tone across on here sometimes without spelling it out or using emojis.

LucyDoo · 07/07/2019 21:36

First ever post. Literally can’t believe all the blasé posts about outdoor clothes on fresh bedding??? Literally WTF???
I’m allergic to bloody everything. If my child went anywhere near her own bed and God forbid mine, when it was clean, in outdoor soiled clothes, she’d be up for adoption and she knows it! Is nothing sacred????? Clean bedding and frankly, your own dirty bedding is sacred! Private! Not for sodding lying in by the uninvited!!!
