Aibu to find this heat too much. I am so not a summer person, love the actual summer holidays but not the hot weather. Melting here already at 25 degrees and climbing.

It's miserable!

FudgeBrownie2019 · 29/06/2019 11:23

Oh I love it, I spent the first three hours of this morning sat in the garden reading and drinking tea. DH hates it and is miserable; he has two fans on in the front room and will only venture out after 8pm with the dogs for walks. The rest of his day will be spent indoors.

TipseyTorvey · 29/06/2019 11:27

I am literally in heaven. I am permanently cold and have to wear jumpers til it's 20 degrees so this is the first time all year I can just wear shorts and bare feet. My sympathies though and I think everyone has different internal body temperature settings which determine what's comfortable for them. Fill up a paddling pool and lie in it?

Saladd0dger · 29/06/2019 11:29

I’m not liking it this year. Actually looking forward to my shift starting in 3 hours, nice air conditioning. Hopefully it will be nice and cool later tonight when I get home

yulet · 29/06/2019 11:31

It's death, I hate it. Not long though and tomorrow should cool down a bit!

SpoonBlender · 29/06/2019 11:35

Complaining about the weather is the Great British Pastime!

It's lovely here just now, but it's going to be 29C by 3pm at which point I will die.

AnchorDownDeepBreath · 29/06/2019 11:36

I absolutely love it, although my skin burns easy so I'm having to be very careful! It makes me feel alive. I am quite cold blooded naturally though.

FrenchyQ · 29/06/2019 11:42

Its too hot....we were smart and went to the shops as soon as they opened this morning, so were back by 10.30am.
Trying to keep my dogs cool is a nightmare when its like this.

Chanandlersbong · 29/06/2019 11:43

25 weeks pregnant here and absolutely dying! Not helped by the fact that 2 year old DS is a ball of non stop energy who loves nothing more than being outside running around (smothered in factor 50 every half hour as he's also a blondie) . I'm now at the stage where I have a flower spray bottle full of water and just keep dousing both of us to keep us from frazzling! I'm thinking of emptying out the freezer and setting up camp in there! 😂

CitadelsofScience · 29/06/2019 11:43

It's going to be 32 here this afternoon. I'm sleep deprived with hot flushes. It's a recipe for disaster Grin

HippyChickMama · 29/06/2019 11:44

YANBU! I hate the Summer. I burn v v easily so have to wear factor 50 and cover up just to go to the shops. I also have Asperger's and I find heat unbearable, it makes me so irritable. Autumn is by far the best season.

TapasForTwo · 29/06/2019 11:46

I am loving it. We have missed out on the hot weather everyone else seems to have enjoyed, so it is the first hot day here this year.

MissKittyBeaudelais · 29/06/2019 11:47

Just be sensible. Stay out of it, when you can. Drink loads. Loose clothing...the usual stuff. It’ll be brief. I think sunshine and high temps are VERY overrated. YANBU

mimibunz · 29/06/2019 11:50

Absolutely gorgeous weather. Keep the kids and animals cool, sit in the shade in your garden or a park. Sip cool drinks and read.

BeanBag7 · 29/06/2019 11:52

At this time of year I'm pleased that my front room never gets the sun! The kitchen is unbearably hot because it is in the sun all day but the front room, and bedroom, stay fairly cool.

LovelyJubblee · 29/06/2019 11:54

Loving that it's meant to break tomorrow and be back to normal summer temps. Enjoying it today as we are hosting a party. Warm summer evening outside. And the sun disappears off our patio at about 5.30 so it will be warm but not hot

BarbedBloom · 29/06/2019 12:00

Yeah, I am indoors watching Glastonbury. Heat triggers my RA and am at higher risk of skin cancer due to my meds. I am not a fan of hot weather in general. My cats and plants are loving it though Grin

TerpsichoreanMuse · 29/06/2019 12:03

I love it. Sitting in pub with cool drink, then a little Morris dancing at a fête, in 30 degrees, I am mad), and then camping in our camper van with Middle Eastern BBQ and fizz. Heaven.

RottnestFerry · 29/06/2019 12:04

Heat is a bit of an overstatement. It's been warm.

I love it.

Vivavivienne · 29/06/2019 12:10

I’m in heaven. Dogs all walked and horses done by 7.30am, coffee in the garden and then I’ve been strimming since then. Stopped for a drink and sandwich! Back to gardening, need to paint the fence and all the tack needs cleaning which i can do sat in s deckchair by the paddling pool under the umbrella.

Kids happy, dogs all quietly sleeping in their preferred cool spots (hall floor for one, kennels for the other, a third on the leather beanbag and a fourth outside under a planter)

Looobyloo · 29/06/2019 12:11

I'm loving it! Just done a four mile run and was sweating like a pig in a sauna Grin

CitadelsofScience · 29/06/2019 12:19

Rottnest you do realise we don't all live in the same place don't you? It's very hot here.

Myusernameismud · 29/06/2019 12:27

I cannot bear the heat. 20 is my happy place, anything above that and I just melt. Don't get me wrong, I love the sunshine and a warm day with a good breeze is tolerable, but pure suffocating heat does me in. At least the pollen count is marginally lower today, and no mould spores to speak of so I can actually breathe. This is preferable to the awful humidity of last week, and the shade is fairly cool still in Suffolk! Once the sun leaves my patio at around 1.30 you'll find me on a sun lounger in the shade, with a huge pitcher of icy water having a little snooze!

Myusernameismud · 29/06/2019 12:28

Also to add, I'm not one to moan when it's freezing either. I'd rather be too cold than too hot. At least you can add extra layers in the cold, once you're stripped down as far as is decent there's little else you can do to cool down.

imsuchagrump · 29/06/2019 12:31

I love it that it's the weekend and I'm off work . If I was in work then no although it's air con .
I like the fact you can sit and relax without having to do anything. Getting all my washing dry on the washing line . I'm having a few minutes rest then I'm cleaning then relax with a couple of nice cold g&t's .
