Aibu to find this heat too much. I am so not a summer person, love the actual summer holidays but not the hot weather. Melting here already at 25 degrees and climbing.

I'm a chef.
The thermometer at work was over 110
I've just done an 8 hour shift and got home and threw up due to the heat.

Feels like it's cooling down a bit now 😀

Ellabella989 · 29/06/2019 17:21

30 here and it’s too hot for me. 25 is the maximum for me before I start to just feel miserable. Don’t know how people are surviving the heatwave abroad. I would melt into a puddle immediately in 42 degree heat

TeaDrinkingBumbleeBee · 29/06/2019 17:27

@isthebigwomanhere sorry you threw up but also glad to know it's not just me. Great username btw

EleanorReally · 29/06/2019 17:32

went to work, happy there because of fans.
too hot and uncomfortable on the beach

Yabbers · 29/06/2019 18:44

Literally NO-ONE has been complaining, about people complaining about the weather

So calling people lame and moany for complaining about the heat is a compliment? Not a complaint?

Basic English too hard a concept for you? (I’m guessing so, given your use of the word “luv”)

Jinxed2 · 29/06/2019 18:45

I’ve felt terrible all day, I’m overweight so have to keep covered. Would love to be able to wear shorts and little tops ☹️

givemesteel · 29/06/2019 19:25

I'm heavily pregnant, I have a toddler and a four year old, it's shit.

Just too tired to play in this heat but I'm grateful that I wasn't in this situation last summer. I accept this summer has been pretty disappointing so far so sunny days are overdue.

But I wish we could go back to the temperate summer days of 20-24 degrees that British summers used to be. It seems to be either muggy or rainy or heatwave these days.

TapasForTwo · 29/06/2019 23:21

"I’m overweight so have to keep covered"

Who says so?

Just wear whatever you feel comfortable in.
givemesteel 24 degrees would be perfect. Hot enough for shorts but not too hot to do anything.

@Jinxed2 Of course you can wear shorts and little tops! Wear whatever you want and keep cool.

I've been away on holiday this week (UK) and we've had lovely weather 18-24 degrees over the week. Come home today and it's 30 degrees which would have been OK with a sea breeze but too hot in a house where there's been no windows open all week . It's really cooked down outside this evening though - took the dog out about 9 and it was just right!

Kolo · 29/06/2019 23:28

It’s been 31 here today. I hate it. I’d love to be the sort of person who can sunbathe, enjoy the sun. But I feel light-headed, lethargic and generally quite unwell. It takes me a good few days to get used to high temps, or a gradual build up. But this has just come from nowhere. I was wearing uggs and cost a couple of days ago.

Give me autumn any day. Clear, bright skies, scarves, gloves and big jumpers. I’m just miserable today.

SoupDragon · 30/06/2019 07:24

How many have started threads to complain? It is in response to people whinging about summer.

mydogisthebest · 30/06/2019 08:59

Although it was really too hot for me after all the grey and rain we have had I was just happy to see the sun.

I got 3 loads of washing done and line dried and then just sat indoors in the cool, did some reading and watched F1 qualifying.

Where I live we had rain every day for 20 days. Not just a few showers but constant pouring rain. It has also been chilly - most morning and evenings the heating kicked in and I have been sitting with a throw over me.

I'd rather very hot weather than constant rain and as for the depressing grey skies!

Bwekfusth · 30/06/2019 09:05

It was 34 here yesterday and I sat in a tiny salon with no air con wearing a black gown for 4 hours 🥵 I really picked the best day for it. And at 9pm I was sat in the garden in my pants, still melting. Much nicer today! Hayfever is worse though with the breeze 😡

PookieDo · 30/06/2019 09:09

It was very hot SE yesterday and I didn’t walk the dog at all, the pavements were hot evening in the evening
I just walked him now and it’s lovely and cool in the shade but very warm in direct sun, I don’t mind that mixture as much

Spiceupyourlife · 30/06/2019 09:16

🤔 I’m stuck in Europe in 38 degree heat. Set off a few weeks ago before anyone knew this this heat was coming.

I would welcome 25 with open arms!

TakenForSlanted · 30/06/2019 15:07

In Europe, too, it's unbearable!

But, chance discovery: the city I'm in has tramways. They're air conditioned.

I did, indeed, go to the office for a stint. I normally bike there, but it was just too hot today.

Will now go on a lovely, pointless but nicely chilled ride around town just to be somewhere not so hot.
