To feel the rage with “teacher tired” posts

Rainbowsandglitterbullshit · 28/06/2019 18:26

The season of teachers posting SM messages “no one knows tired like an end of term teacher/TA/dinner lady” is almost upon us.

I want to scream, what about the fuckers who work stupid hours all week and don’t get 6 weeks off in the summer, half term, two weeks Easter, two weeks at Christmas.

I wouldn’t be a teacher for all the tea in China but these people chose their career.

Grrr, actually don’t care if I’m BU.

cherriesandoranges

it's not s competition but this is exactly why teachers don't get sympathy!!!!

But its you and others that try and maKe it a competition.

Its you and others that start goady, fucked up threads like these and call teachers whiny when you get pulled up on your bullshit.

BoneyBackJefferson · 30/06/2019 19:53

cherriesandoranges

That's why I don't moan about my hours and get annoyed when others work even less and moan about it, expecting sympathy lol.

Yet more virtue signalling bullshit.

ilovesooty · 30/06/2019 19:54

Yes cherriesandoranges is ready with the inspirational careers advice but hasn't addressed the marking issue.

BelindasGleeTeam · 30/06/2019 19:54

It's not a tiredness competition.

Anyone is entitled to have a bloody good moan sometimes.

SachaStark · 30/06/2019 19:55

It’s okay, sooty, she’ll be along in a mo to tell us how we’re all doing our marking wrong, that’s why it takes us all evening/into the early hours/from the early hours before leaving for work.

cherriesandoranges · 30/06/2019 19:56

@BoneyBackJefferson I never started this thread nor did I call teachers whiny. Get your facts straight. If you want to contribute make it relevant.

BoneyBackJefferson · 30/06/2019 19:59

@cherriesandoranges

Unless you are the god of the thread.

No.

Do you ever get told that? I suspect not.

If you want to whine about others then others can whine about you.

Or doesn't it work that way in your world?

herculepoirot2 · 30/06/2019 19:59

cherriesandoranges

Seriously, though, cherries, people are telling you about stressful, difficult working environments and workloads that leave them still planning and marking at 10pm, to start work again at 7.30am, daily. You can’t think that’s okay?

ilovesooty · 30/06/2019 20:02

She thinks it's ok to chirrup you have the power to make the change

Fucking smug,patronising comments.

fedup21 · 30/06/2019 20:03

@cherriesandoranges
You said yeah they are moaning. Proper moaning

Then you said
nor did I call teachers whiny.

?!

cherriesandoranges · 30/06/2019 20:03

@ilovesooty that upsets you only because you know it's true.

cherriesandoranges · 30/06/2019 20:05

@herculepoirot2 I haven't read one post about teachers marking at 10pm. But I joined this debate late and haven't read every single comment - as There are hundreds. I did comment on someone moaning about working 745 to 4 though..........

ilovesooty · 30/06/2019 20:05

Is there no limit to your patronising and smug comments?

cherriesandoranges · 30/06/2019 20:06

@ilovesooty you lose all credibility when you resort to insults and foul language.

ilovesooty · 30/06/2019 20:08

I'm not going to allow you to goad me into saying something worthy of a ban.

Just tell me about your credible experience and qualifications in effecting career changes after many years of teaching. I'm interested.

SachaStark · 30/06/2019 20:08

Mate, I think you lost credibility when you tried to offer advice on a career you not only know nothing of, but actively spread misinformation about.

LyndaLaHughes · 30/06/2019 20:11

Seriously, though, cherries, people are telling you about stressful, difficult working environments and workloads that leave them still planning and marking at 10pm, to start work again at 7.30am, daily. You can’t think that’s okay?

Oh but it's not the teachers she knows so it must be lies. Honestly don't waste your time. She jumped on a poster saying their meeting finished at 4pm as being a nine hour day completely missing the point that that was the time the rest of the work started for god knows how many more hours.
The problem is no matter how many times you explain the reality, people will still stick their fingers in their ears and refuse to listen because the teachers must all be making it up. The argument being that they know someone who doesn't do that so everyone else is making it up. They are leaving because they are lazy and work shy and expected a 9-3 job. It hasn't been like that for a very long time now but it has become increasingly more untenable under the tenure of this government and the coalition before them.
As well as the statistics on those leaving, look up the statistics for mental health issues in teachers. The figures are shocking. As if the job wasn't bad enough these days the amount of people on threads like these dismissing the realities as nonsense is absolutely soul destroying.
I actually think teachers should stop commenting on these goady posts because it doesn't matter how many people explain or how many times it is explained, it's still not listened to and it just adds further to the list of things that are demoralising and making the job impossible.

cherriesandoranges · 30/06/2019 20:12

@SachaStark As a parent and former teacher I'm appalled at your attitude to your profession. You sound so angry and it's probably good you've made the decision to move on next year. Hopefully you will be happy in your next career. Best of luck to you!

fedup21 · 30/06/2019 20:13

I actually think teachers should stop commenting on these goady post

I agree-sensible advice, I’m out now.

herculepoirot2 · 30/06/2019 20:13

@herculepoirot2 I haven't read one post about teachers marking at 10pm. But I joined this debate late and haven't read every single comment - as There are hundreds. I did comment on someone moaning about working 745 to 4 though..........

Then do read it. Nobody is saying working 7.45 to 4 is ridiculous. They are saying working 7.45 to 4 without a break is ridiculous (it is - I don’t care how many people do it). And they are saying working 7.45 to 4 on your directed time responsibilities and then going home to do the other 50% is ridiculous. Which it clearly is.

ilovesooty · 30/06/2019 20:13

Exactly Sacha

Awaiting these credible qualifications and experience...

cherriesandoranges · 30/06/2019 20:15

@herculepoirot2 have you read all 772 comments then? I think not!

SachaStark · 30/06/2019 20:16

@cherriesandoranges, haha, I am still going to be a teacher! Good luck on having your kids educated by fully qualified teachers in the future, since you’re wishing so many of us, the good and experienced ones, away.

BoneyBackJefferson · 30/06/2019 20:17

cherriesandoranges
