I am so glad it’s not 37c here as it is in Europe. I love this weather, 22c is enough for me. My husbands moaning we haven’t had a summer, I love this weather, I can sleep at night, I can go to work without getting all sweaty, I can walk my dogs without worrying of them dying of heat stroke. Anyone else like this weather?

Not sure where you are Mimosas but where I am in Germany nobody has aircon and we’re absolutely roasting. I’m pretty sure my new build house was designed to trap the heat IN not keep it out.

GabsAlot · 26/06/2019 21:09

i hate it too but it will be 30 in the weekend

UnaCorda · 26/06/2019 21:09

When I got married it was above 40 degrees. And I was wearing jeans.

Er, why? No reason to wear traditional white if you don't want to, but if you had a super-casual dress code and it's 40 degrees why did you not wear something cool?

GabsAlot · 26/06/2019 21:10

well in the south east anyway

Todayissunny · 26/06/2019 21:11

In Switzerland - i was out in my car today and it was showing a temperature of 40.5. We keep shutters and windows closed during the day. No AC here . It still sweltering upstairs in the house. I love being outside but avoided going out today. Its exhausting.

Todayissunny · 26/06/2019 21:12

To add to it there isn't a breath of wind where I am.

SudowoodoVoodoo · 26/06/2019 21:13

It's been rubbish weather. Lights on in the daytime, central heating on, wearing jumpers and coats. Dampish 15oC. I want to hibernate until summer comes. Bleugh.

Gin96 · 26/06/2019 21:14

@GabsAlot I know and i’m dreading it, at least it is only lasting one day.

It's to be 26 where I am in the north of Scotland tomorrow. That's definitely a heatwave to me Grin

The80sweregreat · 26/06/2019 21:16

I feel for the French dealing with the horrible weather /heatwave.
I hate the heat : makes me feel ill.

MissConductUS · 26/06/2019 21:20

It's been all over the news here in the US. I actually checked the weather forecast for the UK because I was worried about you lot. Smile

It's 32 degrees here today and lovely.

HarrysOwl · 26/06/2019 21:20

@UnaCorda Clearly, I'm an idiot. My wedding was outdoors in the middle of a National Park, had to walk a mile or so to get to the ceremony 'bit'. Automatically I put on a pair of jeans and my hiking boots. I thought 'can't be that hot at 10am'.

It was. It really was.

PeoniesarePink · 26/06/2019 21:25

It's been cold windy and grotty here in Gloucestershire today. I'm almost putting the heating on this evening.....

CaptSkippy · 26/06/2019 21:28

It's been quite hot and humid where I live on monday and tuesday, but today has been a lot better. I don't have AC and many buildings that do still keep the temperature quite high.

Glad the worst is over.

londonrach · 26/06/2019 21:28

Heatwave.,,im cuddled up with hot water bottle now..it seems vvv cold. Uk near birmingham

HarrysOwl · 26/06/2019 21:29

@PeoniesarePink I'm in Gloucestershire too, my DH put the heating on for an hour!

HaudYerWheeshtYaWeeBellend · 26/06/2019 21:30

I’m in the NE and it was hot today, and hopefully it will be from the rest of the week.

DarkAtEndOfTunnel · 26/06/2019 21:31

My experience of the continent, even in the north, makes me think that their houses are more set up to beat the heat. All tiles, stone, wood, blinds and shutters, commonly with good windows you can leave open. Whereas ours are more set up to beat the cold: carpets everywhere, small windows that barely open, curtains, they all just look huddled somehow. The difference between dry and humid heat too is huge. It is so muggy here it is horrible.

MamaWeasel · 26/06/2019 21:31

Also chilly in the Midlands.....

fraxion · 26/06/2019 21:34

I'm Scottish and anything above the high teens counts as a heatwave for me!

And me Grin. We were in Australia a few months ago and it was really hot. I love the heat but would hate to live with it permanently.

justgivemewine · 26/06/2019 21:35

It was bloody freezing this morning. i got back from the school run shivering and walked into a wall of heat from the house! it was lovely.

Warmed up this after to a 'just right' temperature.

BillieEilish · 26/06/2019 21:37

I'm in the South of Spain, near Valencia and it didn't get hotter than 26 at 5pm today. Think high tomorrow is 27, again, very late afternoon.

No 'heatwave' here, nice and cool compared to normal weather in June. I just go to the pool.

I won't put on air con, not paying 100 euros a month for the pleasure!

Bluerussian · 26/06/2019 21:37

I think the weather is lovely. We haven't had really bad weather where I live, it has been warm and pleasant. So I think summer is here and has been for a little while.

GabsAlot · 26/06/2019 21:37

Im with you gin i get very irritable in that sort of heat

Sorry didnt catch where you live

wildbhoysmama · 26/06/2019 21:38

Very humid and 24 here in Glasgow. Fine if I'm sitting in the garden, not so much when I'm hoovering and cleaning bathrooms after work- ugh!
