How likely is it that all of Gove’s supporters now back Hunt?

And we don’t have to have Boris as PM?

But if all Gove's supporters vote Hunt he'll have 152 to Boris's 160. Sorry. Anyway they both suck. And Gove no better.

EllebellyBeeblebrox · 20/06/2019 18:17

I literally can't get my head around the fact that the floppy haired TWAT is probably going to be PM. Even worse than that it could be Hunt the Cunt. Just so gutted that this is the state of the country.

Anyonefeelthesame · 20/06/2019 18:18

Yes oops bit of a problem with my maths there Blush.

If all of Gove’s supporters and some of Boris’. Tall order I know.

Does anyone think it is possible we won’t end up with Boris?

I don’t like any of them either, but Boris is appalling IMO.

It’s not MPs voting any more, it goes to party members.

Rosti1981 · 20/06/2019 18:20

It's for the wider party membership to vote now anyway, not the MPs again. So despondent.

DearDeirdre · 20/06/2019 18:20

It doesn't matter what the MPs think now- it's all up to the grassroots as party members.

KenAdams · 20/06/2019 18:20

What do you value most - EU membership or the NHS? I'm thrilled that that's a question that has to be considered when our next PM is chosen...

Anyonefeelthesame · 20/06/2019 18:21

Of course.

Even more embarrassed now.

Anyhow, that does mean that you never know.

They can’t all love Boris be completely stupid can they?

historysock · 20/06/2019 18:21

Neither of the outcomes are appealing. I keep sitting here thinking 'what will be the moment we look back on and can late identify as the beginning of the end of the nation as we know it?' Maybe it's right now 🤷🏽‍♀️
I like a bit of melodrama clearly 🙄but at the same time I strongly feel this isn't heading anywhere good...

Anyonefeelthesame · 20/06/2019 18:22

What is it - 100,000 members?

Democracy in action Hmm.

OP posts:
Quellium · 20/06/2019 18:23

There's been (mass?) infiltration of the party membership by Brexit types, encouraged by the likes of Arron Banks. So yeah, we are screwed.

EllebellyBeeblebrox · 20/06/2019 18:23

I'm a nurse so I would have initially said anyone but Hunt, but really, fucking Boris Johnson Sad really can't decide who is the worst deal.

onalongsabbatical · 20/06/2019 18:23

Sorry (again - don't know why the fuck I'm saying sorry I did not vote for any of this) it's gonna be Boris. And we are going to be a laughing stock the world over. But it'll precipitate change of a sort. No-deal. Loss of Scotland. Possible loss of Northern Ireland. End of UK and certain end of us as anything with any clout. Venezuela Britain. I fancy moving to Scotland but my other half doesn't. I'd go over to the wonderful continent if I was 30 years younger and thought I could learn a language properly. It really sucks.

TheAngryLlama · 20/06/2019 18:23

I am a Conservative party member and I definitely do not love Boris.
I had hoped for a better choice. The tories need fresh blood not this pair with all their toxic baggage. I think it’s like the IDS thing - the party has turned in on itself and forgotten that what it likes does not necessarily appeal to the wider electorate.

onalongsabbatical · 20/06/2019 18:24

Oh god yes it's the whole Tory shitshow voting now. Who cares anymore?

TheAngryLlama · 20/06/2019 18:25

All of that said I am clear either is a better choice than Corbyn. But that is a very, very low bar. Indeed the bar has never been set lower by the opposition in my lifetime, perhaps ever.

TopBitchoftheWitches · 20/06/2019 18:25

Hunt ruined the NHS.

Boris is a proven liar, misogynist, utter idiot.

I am disgusted that either has a chance of being our PM.

Gove was no better, he completely changed education for SEN kids.

Disgusted with them all. 😡

Why can't a normal person just take the reigns. Someone who actually gives a shit about the people in this country.

Poetryinaction · 20/06/2019 18:25

How long does the new PM stay in for?

Quellium · 20/06/2019 18:26

I feel sick at the thought of Boris Johnson as PM. He will destroy the country, the NHS and it will all be a game to him. A very profitable game.

HairyMcWary · 20/06/2019 18:27

My Conservative party membership has lapsed so unfortunately I can't vote. However, if I was still a member I would most definitely not be voting for Johnson. He is completely untrustworthy and self serving. I think Hunt is the lesser of two evils. I was actually hoping Rory Stewart would get through to the final two as he spoke a lot of common sense!

Quellium · 20/06/2019 18:27

Oh god, yes. Don't want Corbyn either. Fuck everything. Fuck it all to hell.

Bluntness100 · 20/06/2019 18:29

I think it's a foregone conclusion it's Boris to be honest. Unless something happens that is.

I really don't like hunt, so I'm torn if I'm honest. I really dislike Boris but think he beats Jeremy hunt.

Fibbke · 20/06/2019 18:29

This is hyperbole and hysteria. Of course he won't destroy the country.

Anyonefeelthesame · 20/06/2019 18:29

I am also hoping that this will precipitate rapid change - come on, there is a parliament full of MPs (at least half full) who have to seriously mobilise now.

My personal opinion is that Corbyn has to go, but I know many won’t agree.

And we need PR.

As the parent of a child with formerly a statement, now an EHCP, I approve of Gove’s reforms. It is the lack of funding that is the problem, but the changes themselves are good.
I am bitterly disappointed that this is the choice. At the outset i thought this was the scenario I really did not want. Boris cannot won In Scotland, London, the north - anywhere outside the heartland. We have been here before and not that long ago.
