And we don’t have to have Boris as PM?

It is clearly time that politics in this county needs to change. How can anyone go about doing that?

Topsecretidentity · 20/06/2019 18:31

Can't stand Hunt. Evil man would put the final nail in the NHS coffin if he was PM. So as suboptimal as Boris is, he's the lesser of two evils.

Shoppingwithmother · 20/06/2019 18:31

I agree, AngryLlama. Do you prefer Jeremy Hunt to Boris? I would have much preferred Michael Gove.

For me though my main concern is who can beat Corbyn, and I think that might be Boris.

TheAngryLlama · 20/06/2019 18:31

I would love it if Labour now could grasp the nettle and ditch Corbyn. Come on Tom what did you lose all that weight for if not to get match fit??

Idontwanttotalk · 20/06/2019 18:32

We have no idea how the Tory membership will vote. It could very well be that they vote for the other candidate if, indeed, Boris gets through to the last 2.

Who knows? It's not worth speculating, we just won't know until the final vote has been counted.

I think Boris Johnson is an intelligent baffoon but he has a lot of support in his party so I think there must be more to him than we are seeing. His fellow conservatives obviously think he has what it takes to be leader so, if he does win the contest, it will be interesting to see how things pan out.

Shoppingwithmother · 20/06/2019 18:33

They’ve already had the vote - it’s Johnson vs Hunt

RageAgainstTheVendingMachine · 20/06/2019 18:33

March 2018: 124 000 tory party members
How many have paid 25 pounds in the last year/quarter, don't know but have read 140 000. Older demographic.
I would have paid 25 quid to vote had Rory been one of the two.
As it is Bojomofo and Jeremy Cunt are both anathema.

TheAngryLlama · 20/06/2019 18:34

If we compare how they did the same job clearly hunt is preferable. but He is not an election winner. Nor is gove. Javid could have been I think. Goddamn. Time to dust down those emigration plans

Shoppingwithmother · 20/06/2019 18:35

Yes, Llama, I was thinking the other day, the one thing that would make me rest easier is if Labour had a different leader.

I thought I hated Ed Milliband at the time, but I’d almost vote for him or Tom Watson or Yvette Cooper myself just for the relief of it not being Corbyn.

RageAgainstTheVendingMachine · 20/06/2019 18:35

I agree. Tom Watson I would get behind.

TheAngryLlama · 20/06/2019 18:36

At least when I go to the hustings I can look forward to being the youngest for once

Fibbke · 20/06/2019 18:36

I thought javid was awful. I wamted Gove, i think he's intelligent.

Shoppingwithmother · 20/06/2019 18:37

How old are you? I thought I might be the youngest!

TheAngryLlama · 20/06/2019 18:38

Gove is intelligent but baggage baggage baggage. Javid is comparatively without it and also I think not stupid, and able to get traction beyond the Tory core, because of his background (which shouldn’t matter but does)

MaMaMaMySharona · 20/06/2019 18:38

I don’t know how true this is but saw this the other day...

How likely is it that all of Gove’s supporters now back Hunt?
TheAngryLlama · 20/06/2019 18:39

I am 44

MyGastIsFlabbered · 20/06/2019 18:39

They're a pair of self-serving cunts. Asking which I'd prefer is like asking if I want to be executed by lethal injection or electric chair. I've a lot of time for Jeremy Corbyn but even I realise Labour will never get in with him in charge. I despair, I really do.

Shoppingwithmother · 20/06/2019 18:40

We may be the joint youngest then!!

TheAngryLlama · 20/06/2019 18:40

I would take that tweet with a pinch of salt. As far I recall the party does not gather that kind of demographic data when you join

Xmr1986 · 20/06/2019 18:40

Andy Burnham for PM anyone? 😁

I'd back Labour for Burnham.

Fibbke · 20/06/2019 18:41

Well other types of people are allowed to join the tory party tbh. And theres nothin intrinsically wrong with being a 57 year old white male.

billysboy · 20/06/2019 18:42

Awesome , go on Boris !

Poloshot · 20/06/2019 18:42

Unlikely. I'll be voting for Boris

Xmr1986 · 20/06/2019 18:44

@TheAngryLlama Javid is out 🙄

historysock · 20/06/2019 18:44

I loved Andy burnham.
