To wonder what Heart radio were thinking

In sacking off all their local breakfast show presenters and employing Amanda Holden?

Does anyone actually like listening to her?

I can’t stand her so have completely retuned and don’t listen to Heart at all now.

Is it just me?

I loved Matt & Michelle - they made me laugh so hard so many times on the journey into work I feared I'd have to turn the car round and head back home to change! Can't bear AH. Liststen to CDs instead and sing along to them to get the feel good factor now.

It fucked me off that they dont understand or care how much local radio meant to people.

I loved hearing the Yorkshire song, talking about places I know. Being able to go to stuff like when Emma rowed all the way from liverpool to Leeds etc. I liked hearing people I know call in.

I dont want big names talking about their exotic holidays and London. I am sure London listeners dont mind that. But I want something that's more recognisable to me.

As others have said, its the local news and traffic that I want to hear in a morning. Used to be Lois and Olli and they were just brilliant but since moving south I've grown to enjoy Jagger and Woody. I now listen to The Wave, good fun presenters and plenty of local info. Have all the breakfast presenters moved to drivetime now?

I’ve switched to Jack fm for Oxford. Their ad at the moment for their breakfast show is pretty amusing.

Mate of mine works in the radio bizz he tells me that most all of the Heart regional studios have now been closed down and the staff made redundant.

So they arent coming back, but some of the brekkie presenters have found jobs on other non heart stations some on the local community ones.

That's really sad. So many jobs gone.

I loved Rich and Zoe in the South. I had a long morning commute and listening to them genuinely made it more bearable, they almost felt like friends. I don't listen to heart now, I've moved to radio one

Can’t stand AH and can’t watch or listen to anything with her in it. How she had the brass neck to pass judgement on other people’s talents is beyond me. Always suspect she married Les Dennis to get on in showbiz - shame on Simon Cowell and others for foisting her on us!

I loved Matt and Michelle in Hampshire. I don't like Amanda or Jamie as it all seems to be name dropping about who their celebrity friends are. They just seem very self absorbed. The money they are giving away is obviously to keep people listening but when that stops the number of listeners will drop. I can't find an alternative station though.

I still miss bam bam and streetboy from kiss circa 2005ish.

I didn't listen to Heart but I know how much people loved Matt and Michelle. Local radio is a brilliant thing and it's scary to see it disappearing and radio becoming homogenised.

We miss Ed, Troy and Paulina in this house. No one wants Amanda Holden talking at them in the morning (or any time of day)!

Should say we're in Somerset. My dc are very worried about the trio's future employment.

I really like heart in general right now. I like Jamie, don't care much for Amanda but the one before her sounded like a bit of a twat too. Really enjoying JK and Kelly!
